[ Kevin's been working for a few days without sleep on the tablet, so when he wakes up, he figures he must've just passed out from exhaustion. He gets all the way to sitting up before he realizes that he isn't in the bunker.

When the feed switches on, it starts first staring up at the ceiling, while in the background, someone is very clearly laying waste to the bookshelf in their room. Kevin steps into the frame as he swings the shelf he'd ripped out to use as a weapon, and he decides it's acceptable before he sets it down. He has a bunch of papers, and as he puts them into an empty pillowcase, the cuneiform symbols can just be seen for what they are -- that is, ancient and unreadable.

He reaches for his shelf again, and now his face fully comes into frame. He looks like a guy who hasn't slept or eaten real food in a few days, with an added couple layers of complete panic. He has no clue where he is, who might've kidnapped him, what they want to use him for, but beneath the panic there's determination.

He made it this far; he won't let them win now.

Once he realizes the phone is broadcasting, he curses loudly and switches it off.

This plan would probably have gone a lot better if he hadn't been Skyping it. ]

Awhile, yeah. Don't ask me to give you an exact count of the days because I stopped counting. Even with all the weird crap going on here it still beats what's waiting for me back home.

[ She'll take a clinical prison over death, thanks. ]

Dean and Sam just went after the Roman goddess of the hearth. [ He knows what happened to Meg, but that seems like so long ago now, and he was a little busy slowly driving himself insane with tablets. Honestly, he couldn't even remember when Sam and Dean told him, if it'd been right after or much later. ]

It's been a while since I saw you. [ Is his polite way of saying that. ]

Just a regular day in Winchester-land then?

[ Anything on those pretty stones on how to resurrect a dead demon? Preferably in the same meatsuit - but that bit can be negotiable. No? Nothing?

Well damn. ]

Yeah, sorry about that. Hard to send regular postcards when the King of Hell stabs you to death.

[ His mind goes to his mom, even though it shouldn't. ]

Yeah. He's not king anymore, if that makes you feel any better. Abaddon's overthrowing him and doing a good job of it because Sam and Dean have him locked up in their dungeon.

[foundacause]

Woah, woah, woah, back up a bit. Rewind a moment. Sorry, did you say Abaddon is taking over? As in Knight of Hell Abaddon? As in hand-picked by Lucifer Knight of Hell Abaddon?

[ Meg gives a low whistle. ] Good luck with that then...

And if Dumb and Dumber have Crowley locked up - why is he even still alive? Seriously. Have they not learned their lesson about trusting Crowley yet?

[ She pauses and stares at the glass. ] What about Cas? Is he... [ Alive? Dead? Other? ]

They want to use him to get information. [ Kevin hesitates, then looks guilty for a minute because it's been hard for him to get used to the idea himself. ]

And -- and I have too.

[ When she asks about Cas, he looks up again. ] He's fine. He's human. [ And he doesn't know why he hasn't been living with them, especially after Dean's speech about family. ]

Information? From Crowley? Good luck with that, kiddies. [ You know, because he's just the most honest, helpful and trustworthy of demons! ]

Human? Human is good. Better than dead.

[vates]

I think so too, on both counts. [ Kevin shakes his head. Yeah, okay, he's concerned about Cas, but his thoughts center around Crowley a lot more. ]

He wanted a phone call to Hell, and then he translated some of what I'd been able to translate from the tablets into another language. We tested him first, and he passed the test, but... I don't know.

[foundacause]

Just... be careful. Crowley is a snake and he will always be looking out for number one. The second he get s a chance to stab you boys in the back to save his own skin - he will.

Every single time.

[ Ugh. When did Meg even start giving a damn about the Winchesters and their strays? ]

[ Kevin would agree with that, but he thinks back to when Crowley had him in his fake houseboat, and he'd been ready to kill Kevin. No backup plan, just pure anger and frustration. That'd been the most frightening and most rewarding moment because he knew he pushed Crowley past even his own limits.

And then in the bunker, he'd egged Kevin on until he snapped and lit into him, and Kevin's been struggling with that, too. Had Crowley enjoyed it? That gives him creepy feelings, but also just... Did he want to see Kevin snap; did he want to see what he could manipulate Kevin into doing? Did he want to see that he could twist Kevin around until he was, in those few minutes, no better than Crowley? ]

I know. If I was in charge, he'd be dead.

[foundacause]

So why not take charge? Surely you're not scared of the Winchesters, are you? Who put those numb-skulls in charge any way?

[ Doesn't her love for them just shine through? ]

[vates]

I'm not scared of them. [ Are you kidding? He sighs, chewing his lip as he hugs his arms around him. ]

I wouldn't know what to do. Go on the run again, I guess, but. Being with Sam and Dean is better than being on my own, slowly going crazy. [ What if the hallucinations came back? What if the angels found him, or Abaddon? ]

Just be careful. Sam and Dean... they're the good guys but they are so blinded by their sickeningly unhealthy co-dependency that sometimes they miss the bigger picture.

Try not to get yourself in a position where it's your life or theirs - it won't end pretty.

And for fuck sake kill Crowley.

[ Kevin doesn't want to believe that they'd sacrifice him like that, but he agrees that Sam and Dean aren't like... the perfect choice for Kevin to invest himself in. The only person he's come to trust is himself, and he's accepted Sam and Dean into that circle, while still aware of their shortcomings. Like, how Sam ignored him for like a year.

He nods. Meg giving him advice that seems solid? That's influencing his feelings on her, considerably. ]

I will.

[ Of course her advice is solid. She's helpful... when she wants to be.

She closes the gap between them to reclaim her angel blade. ]
