Kevin Tran | 001 | Accidental video
[ Kevin's been working for a few days without sleep on the tablet, so when he wakes up, he figures he must've just passed out from exhaustion. He gets all the way to sitting up before he realizes that he isn't in the bunker.
When the feed switches on, it starts first staring up at the ceiling, while in the background, someone is very clearly laying waste to the bookshelf in their room. Kevin steps into the frame as he swings the shelf he'd ripped out to use as a weapon, and he decides it's acceptable before he sets it down. He has a bunch of papers, and as he puts them into an empty pillowcase, the cuneiform symbols can just be seen for what they are -- that is, ancient and unreadable.
He reaches for his shelf again, and now his face fully comes into frame. He looks like a guy who hasn't slept or eaten real food in a few days, with an added couple layers of complete panic. He has no clue where he is, who might've kidnapped him, what they want to use him for, but beneath the panic there's determination.
He made it this far; he won't let them win now.
Once he realizes the phone is broadcasting, he curses loudly and switches it off.
This plan would probably have gone a lot better if he hadn't been Skyping it. ]

-> action;
[And that's all the warning Kevin gets before the feed cuts and a moment later, Samandriel is in the library with him with just the sound of flapping wings to announce himself.
For what it's worth, he does hope that his arrival isn't startling, though it doesn't stop him from getting right to business.]
Do you know any of the sigils used to ward off angels?
no subject
Some. I've learned a few from the tablets. [ He chews his lip uncertainly. ] Can we keep them safe? My notes?
no subject
Your notes? From the tablets? [He's surprised, but gives a slow nod.] We should be able to. If you keep them inside a warded room, none of us will be able to get to them, and I'm fairly certain that no one else here would want them.
[A pause.]
Although we should put up some demon warding as well, while we're at it. To be safe.
no subject
He's surprised that Samandriel might say no one else would want them, but then he realizes maybe he doesn't know what these notes are about. It's not demons. Maybe Kevin should hand it all over to the archangels and wash his hands of the whole business, but it's his duty to translate and protect the Word. If it was safe for archangels to see, why would it be only his job? ]
Right. [ Of course, he doesn't want demons getting ahold of this information either. ] You haven't seen what's been going on out there, and -- I think it's best if no one else sees these notes. [ He chews his lip. ] Probably you, too.
no subject
Samandriel pauses when Kevin mentions that it's best if he doesn't see the notes either, but then gives a slight nod. If he's trying to protect it from the eyes of angels, well, that would include him.]
Alright. [It only really confirms what he's thinking, which he finds more worrisome. Pursing his lips a moment, he then glances once more to the pillow case, watching it for a moment before raising his gaze once more to Kevin's face.] ...Are they from the angel tablet? I don't intend to try to take them from you if they are, I just-- ...I'd simply like to know.
[Because it might be his fault that it's been found.]
no subject
The tablet didn't come with me. This is what I've been able to translate so far, but... [ It's how to kick angels out of Heaven, and, supposedly, the fact that there's no way to put them all back. ]
I don't want to say anything else.
no subject
I understand. It's fine. I won't say anything to anyone about it, either. [Not even his brothers. No doubt Kevin will be safer if they don't know.]
It would be best to hide them in your room, I think. That way you can be safe as well, and it's more unlikely that they'll be found by anyone.
no subject
Thanks for helping me. [ If he is really helping and he isn't going to turn on him. While his inner paranoia makes a good point, he shelves it for now. ]
I'm just really sick of these tablets getting people hurt.
no subject
Of course. It would be nice if you have less to worry about while you're here. Keeping my brothers off your back to the extent that I can should at least help to lighten the load.
[He actually legitimately cares, though he's got no idea how to show it ...And it doesn't help that the comment about the tablets getting people hurt manages to make him feel even worse.]
I can only imagine. Has it... Has it been that bad?
no subject
And that line of thought means he's primed to blow up, however minutely, at that question. ]
Yeah! A lot of people have died over these tablets. [ Channing, his mom, a couple of the would-be prophets that Crowley abducted. Sam, almost. That girl Sam and Dean knew that Crowley used against them. ]
And it never stops. I don't think it's ever going to stop, unless I finish this angel tablet. But then if I do that, like, who knows who's going to die because of that. If I could destroy them, I would. [ But... He pauses and looks away, a haunted look creeping into his expression. ]
I don't think I can.
