[ Sam has lost time. The last thing he remembers is entering the lab, getting a look around the place, some friendly sibling bickering in the kitchen. The next thing he knew he was in a bed, or more specifically the one he's claimed since they've arrived at the lab.
Not only that, but it seems like whatever Raphael did to help him before has worn off. As soon as consciousness hits him, the pain starts. There's an idle wonder if it's trying to make up for lost time, because it slams into his body with such a force that he ends up staying in that bed for three hours, unable to move or even call out to anyone.
Great. Because it's not like he has enough problems without being forced to deal with this.
After a bit of time, the pain subsides (or he gets used to it), and he's able to sit up. While he knows he should tell someone what's happening, especially his brother, there's some hesitance on Sam's part. It's not like he doesn't know what's going on with his body, this isn't some spontaneous illness - that pain carries a twinge of familiarity he isn't so happy to feel. And there isn't much anyone can do, especially Dean. However, there is one who helped him before....]
[ After learning that Charlie and Kevin are there (and after talking to both of them), Sam sends out a text to all. Normally he would just talk on video, but he doesn't want everyone to see the state he's in. Sam hasn't mastered the art of hiding it very well, especially so soon after this pain has returned. ]
Seems like we've got quite a few new folks around. You need anything, don't hesitate to ask. We're all in this together. I'm Sam Winchester.
I was also wondering about that machine we've got here in the building. Anyone got anything on it yet? I've been kind of indisposed for a while, so if anyone can catch me up that'd be great.
[ Private Text - Raphael ]
If you've got some time today, I'd like to meet up. I've been gone, not sure where but I've lost time. And...I can feel it again. The sickness I had when I arrived before.
Let me know.

[ He hasn't gotten the hang of this texting thing yet. And he sounds irritated or at least distracted. ]

Ah, it should be on the second floor, and I don't think it's moved.

[ Well, he did say to ask. And he has to have been here for a while ]

2) They like pulling stunts on us. Maybe some kind of experiment? It's hard to say for sure since we've had no contact with them. Chemicals pumped in the air sometimes, monsters let loose, that kind of thing.
3) They are powerful. We have many with supernatural abilities who aren't able to leave. I'm talking angels and demons here. It's crazy.
4)Here they've been replenishing our supplies it looks like, but back in the town we were in before they'd stopped doing so. Not sure why, and not sure if it'll happen again here.
It's not too much unfortunately but it's something. You just arrive recently?

How long have you been here? And in the town.

[He's been gone awhile. Much too long for her liking, long enough that she thought he'd gone home, but he was here, and he seemed to remember what this place was. That was as good a sign as any.
Jo fumbles to hold her phone steady, jumping to her feet and heading out from her room almost immediately, in motion without waiting for direction.]
Where are you?!
[Audio]
[ His voice sounds a little rough, like he hasn't used it to speak in quite some time. He's sitting up on his bed now, which is an improvement, but there's an instinct to jump up, act like nothing's wrong.
His body is having none of it, though. ]
Just going to warn you, I'm looking pretty rough. Remember when I arrived? [ And his sigh is soft. ] Like that.
[Audio -> Action]
[Let it never be said that she sugarcoats things. Still, once he's told her where he is, she picks up her pace, pushing herself to move faster until she's at an all-out run.]
So we'll call in another favor-- get you help again. I'm almost there, don't move.
[Her breath is a little short, thanks to the running, but she hits the landing half a second later and it's mere moments before there's a knock at his door. Lucky for her, this place isn't all that big.]
Sam!

[Look who can actually text now? It took her long enough.]
I don't have anything useful to add about the machine, but we've found a few more labs in your absence. Nothing else labeled. It's like they were evicted from the office, so to speak.
[text]
I wonder if there's any way to retrace their steps. Have you noticed any kind of trail or indication of one?

Sammy? Man, you've been -- [ Gone. Sam was gone, and Dean didn't know what to do to get him back. ] Where are you? You holding up?
video
It's probably not working so well, especially when he's wracked by coughing fits the moment he contacts his brother. Dammit. ]
In my room. Woke up in bed a while ago. [ And his hand comes up to rub at his eyes, trying to make them focus better. ] Looks like it was long enough for this to come back.
[ And by 'this' he means 'this life draining painful sickness with no name'. He should really try to get Dean to come up with a few for him sometime. ]

When Sam replies, Dean can see that he's a mess, and that's bad, yeah. But they can get Raphael to fix it, can't they? ]
Okay, we can deal with that. Gotta say. [ Some of his tension eases. ] It's good to see you. Even if you look like shit.

sanm? arte yyou okjat?
[Well, that looks professional. Finding the button mashing too time consuming and perhaps mildly frustrating, he then switches to audio. Technology does not agree with him.]
I'm afraid I don't know anything about the machine, though I can't say I've spent much time investigating it as of yet. As for your being indisposed, however... What sort of condition are you in? Are you okay?
audio;
His instinct is to say he's fine, but one thing he's trying to do is be more honest about his condition. It's not fair to anyone here to have someone as wrecked inside as Sam is just brushing off concern. ]
Okay is probably pushing it a little bit. [ If only he could say he was okay. As it is, it's hard to sit up in bed right now. ] Looks like whatever happened to me while I was gone reset me to factory default. I remember everything that's happened, but any progress with this...whatever it is. Sickness. Looks like it's all gone.
audio;
I see. Have you spoken with Raphael? If he helped you before, he may help you again. [That's about the only advice he has. He's not sure how else to deal with what Sam's gone through.] I can offer to come to you now and do what I can, but he's the healer. He'd be your better chance.

Steve Rogers. Do you know if anyone has attempted to map out the facility?

You thinking about trying it? I'd like to help if you are.

How is your health?

My health is about like it was when I arrived. Not sure if something's been done to me to bring it back, or if what I had done has faded.

[helpful reply that isn't just a shitty pop culture reference? haha. no. not from gabriel.
it's probably best to just ignore him - maybe he'll go away.]

Did Sam just recognize those lyrics?
So, maybe he's caught some of the movie once or twice when the tv has been on as background noise in those many hotel rooms that have never quite been home. And maybe he doesn't know all the lyrics but he definitely recognizes that part. It got stuck in his head for days. ]
No. None of that.
