[ She's torn. She doesn't exactly want to come clean just yet, but at the same time withholding information might do no more than just keep them stuck here longer. With a quiet sigh, she looks at the other woman, and waits for the scoff of disbelief as she says quietly, ]

I'm...an Angel.

[Sharon's smile falls, but she doesn't look as if she thinks Anna is lying. She doesn't look as if she thinks much of anything one way or the other.]

Go on.

Well, that depends on what more you want to know.

[ She's watching the other woman closely, it's rare that people take that piece of information this easy, and she half expects some kind of dramatic freak out any second now. ]

Celestial beings exist, in a real and not religious sense. They're not as friendly as humanity has been led to believe, though.

Let me guess. Some angels play the harp, but they do it really badly and really loudly?

You said this place was better than where you were. Where were you?

A little less minor irritation and a little more aggressive than that, if the situation calls for it.

[ Ah, now that's a touchy subject. She's tense just thinking about it, but plays it off with a laugh as she turns ever so slightly away. ]

I was upstairs. In uh, one of our prisons.

Upstairs. Heaven?

[Which means... they have prisons in heaven? Holy shit. Maybe Sharon would wind up in one of those. It's got to be better than hell, right?]

Yeah, Heaven. It's where they put the ones who don't toe the line.

[ She's so very angry about it, but she's fighting to show little more of that than the tight smile and bitter edge to her words. She has appearances to maintain, after all. ]

God's real too, if you'll believe that. Although our Father has been missing for quite some time.

[She's not sure she believes in God at all. Just know that if he's real, she's screwed.]

How did you not toe the line?

[ She's about to bring out her tried and tested 'you wouldn't believe me' line, but figures it's about time she gave Sharon the benefit of the doubt. ]

Angels aren't ones for freedom. We get given our orders and we follow them, for our whole existence. I chose to fall instead, but eventually they found me anyway. I got taken away for...reconditioning. We don't kill one of our own unless we can help it.

[ Never mind the fact that there had been times where that would have been much kinder. ]

[She's quiet as she contemplates that.]

So angels where you're from are soldiers. You went AWOL, and they tried to draft you back into the army. When you say recondition, am I right in assuming it means they tried to torture you into loyalty?

[It might be the slightest button for her. She's been imprisoned and tortured before. It had been eight months before she managed to escape. She'd spent years trying to get over it only to realize she never truly would.]

Yes, you're right.

[ It's not so surprising that Anna actuallly isn't that upset to be here, all things considered. As ominous as waking up in a strange town is, an escape is an escape. ]

We're not supposed to feel. We're supposed to just do as we're told, follow the orders and never question our faith. I rebelled, and it got me locked up.

[ Obviously there's so much more to the story, but Anna's had enough of sharing. ]

So I'm guessing your world is very different then?

Just a bit. The Heaven and Hell stuff is metaphysical. Never met an angel, though I know of a mutant who goes by the name Angel. I mostly deal with superheroes and aliens. Which... I don't suppose you have any of those there.

[ It takes a lot to surprise Anna, but she's certainly managed it. ]

I imagine this is something what you felt like when I told you about my world? [ She does manage a good natured chuckle though. In a way, it is all quite funny after all, people from such oddly matched worlds being brought together like this. ] Supeheroes and aliens. I thought they were just Earth stories. And what exactly is a mutant?

[She manages a small grin.] This isn't necessarily my first time off-universe, but yeah, your universe is more... different than I expected.

Superheroes tend to be from other planets or universes and get their abilities that way or from some external factor later on, like a serum or a spider bite. Mutants are born with their abilities, but they don't really kick in until puberty. People haven't decided yet if they're the next stage in human evolution or a dud. [Or a threat. But she'll keep mum on that until there's one here that she's genuinely worried about.]

When you say abilities, you mean...

[ It's fascinating, really. She's watched the world come to life from the ground up, but she's never encountered things like this. At least not in the way that this woman describes it, and she can't help but want to know more. ]

If you have superheroes, you must have villainous counterparts for them to have cause to 'don the uniform', so to speak?

We do. A couple since before World War II, but the War is when they really hit their stride. Now they're a dime a dozen. We've got some who can control metal, some who can control thoughts. SHIELD mostly focused on stopping people from committing acts of terrorism or attack or domination, so I've come across a few in my time.

Keeps things interesting, to say the least.

I guess if you have angels, you also have demons.

[Have angels? This is an angel.]

[ In a way it's not so different from her world - the origins might change but the essentials seem to stay the same. Good vs. evil, wherever you look. ]

More than you can count. There are other creatures too, monsters and spirits on Earth. My older brother is the Devil, you know how it goes.

[ She can't help the slight smirk that tugs at her lips and she shrugs. ] Suppose that stuff doesn't matter too much here though, anyway. I don't even know what I'd be able to do any more.

[She frowns at that. Like the dire wolves? Or like the Rhino? And her older brother what?]

If you find out if you can do something or not, I'd be... grateful if you could let me know. I won't make anyone leave who doesn't want to, but I have to get home.

[She hesitates.] What sorts of creatures and monsters?

I'm afraid I might be useless in the efforts to leave. It was the first thing I tried, I can't...transport myself the way I usually would. Not out of the town, at any rate.

[ There's no way she's going to say fly with someone who doesn't already know the ins and outs of these things. It's not a conversation she wants to have at the moment, and she's sure that the first person who brings up 'wings' is going to get a whole lot of angry Anna to deal with. ]

All sorts of things. Werewolves, djinn, vampires. Most of the myths and legends you've heard of are true in some form, at least. The lore often gets mixed up, but it's still somewhat the truth. We have...a lot of evil in my world.

You can tele- could teleport?

[She thinks about it for a moment and then shakes her head.] Of course. Angel. Teleport, flying, harp-playing, whatever.

[She leans back and nods.] We've got some of those back home. Pains in the ass. And it seems evil is something there's no shortage of in any world. Good to know.

[Which begs the question - not many "evil" people are here, other than Loki. Where are all the other villains to tip the scales? With the captors? Or is there something else at play?]

Well, technically I still can, but not out of the confines of the town.

[ Beyond a small, slightly unimpressed eyebrow raise at the harp comment, she still smiles. She can't exactly blame Sharon for the images of angels humans have been using for hundreds and thousands of years after all. ]

There's a few perks that come with it. That's one of them. Helps with dealing with said evil, though I'm a little out of practice.

[Meanwhile, Sharon's wondering if Anna's lack of denial might be confirmation that angels play harps. Which is... weird? After all, why would angels choose harps?]

So perks are... teleportation... flying? I'm guessing immortality, or something close to it...

Flying, immortality. [ She nods along, echoing her agreement, and there's a hesitant pause before she continues. She's already said too much anyway, what does it matter if she says a little more. ]

We can heal, too. Locate people too, provided they're not shielded from us. Things like that.

[Sharon is only too happy to let people talk too much in her presence. She's paying rapt attention, and her head comes up when Anna says she can locate people.]

What do you need to locate them? Something of theirs? Just a name?

[If she can get Natasha back... If Anna can find where Steve is - Sharon's Steve, that is...]

In theory, yes. There's ways of hiding.

[ There's no missing Sharon's sudden, very specific interest, and she can't help but frown. ]

Have you...lost someone? I don't know how well ill so here, but...

[ She trails her offer off, looking at Sharon with a shrug. Flying under the radar (no pun intended) is pretty difficult when she keeps offering to help people with her abilities. ]
