Of course it isn't safe. We've been dropped here by some unseen force and just left to our own devices? How does anything about that not scream sinister?

No doubt about that, but maybe staying here temporarily isn't a good idea. No people, and no sign of where they went? [The first thing that comes to mind is that this might be a testing ground for one of the strains of virus. There could still be traces of Neo-Umbrella; someone out for revenge for the woman who called herself Ada Wong.]

I've heard of cases where controlled experiments like this were used to test bio-weapons...

If that's the case, anyone trying to leave will probably be threatened with guns or something equally ridiculous ripped right out of a movie.

[A terrible movie that Jackson tried to get her to watch instead of the notebook, but we all know who gets the last say on that topic, don't we. Lydia Martin does not take orders from anyone, and she definitely doesn't get deposited in a testing facility either.]

There has to be something we all have in common. We should be working on answers, not worrying about what is and isn't safe, because I'm telling you right now. None of this is safe.

Not sure what we've all got in common, but I do know that everyone here seems to be just as confused as the next person. [Suddenly Sherry wonders if this has to do with the strain of the virus in her body. There's no way all of these people could somehow be connected to a virus, right? Not to mention, if that were the case, she was sure that Jake would have to be here...]

I guess I'd rather take my chances here in town than in the forest where they've probably got the advantage.

I really don't know. [She's not trying to scare you, but she doesn't want to lie either.] That's why I don't think we should risk it by staying here.

But is there any way of leaving? Dunno. Looks like we're stuck if you ask me.

Unless we can find a boat bigger than a canoe, I think traveling by sea's out of the picture. [There's the forest north of the town's center.] Has anyone tried escaping through those woods? I have a bad feeling they've probably got eyes there too though.

That's not entirely reassuring. What else would there be? You don't think there's blokes with guns that'll shoot anyone who tries to leave, do you?

If these people are organized enough to take away communications and put up cameras everywhere, then yeah, that's probably what's out there.

No way we should find out. At least not yet. We've gotta get everyone together. Maybe if we all try to leave at once... but then again, we don't know how many of them could be out there. Guessing since they brought us here, they're prepared for an amount of people this big trying to break out.

[And for a split second, Sherry's thinking about zombies again. Oh boy.] Speaking of eating, doesn't seem like there's a market here... but there's food in all the pantries and the fridges that look like they were bought yesterday. That's definitely creepy.

I and another person I trust searched the homes when we got here, as well as conducting a check of the perimeter. The houses are safe, though if you'd like me to go through again, I can.

I should specify that we searched for people. We didn't find anyone except the ones who woke up at the fountain.

That's the problem, though. There aren't any people here. Whoever's on the other side of those cameras might be waiting to use us as lab rats for something. We can't stay here, we've got to find a way out of here.

We're working on it. We have government agents, superheroes, and mutants. We aren't weak, and we certainly aren't defenseless.

[Though really, that can only be so comforting. Whoever has them here has them here for a reason, and Sharon hasn't been able to contact anyone to get home yet.]

Agent Sherry Birkin of the Division of Security Operations. There are other government agents here? What branches? [She looks a little relieved, but also curious to know if maybe someone familiar's here too.] I'm not doubting our strengths, but tell me, have you ever seen a viral outbreak before?

Mostly SHIELD. Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate. We were formed by the United Nations and deal mostly in terrorist threats around the globe.

I've heard of mad bombs, but viral outbreaks are rare in my experience.

I doubt that's why they're keeping us here. [Sharon is really trying to be comforting. Unfortunately, she isn't necessarily very good at it. But she'll try.] I have friends who can regenerate too quickly to be killed off like that. If it were genetic testing, they would have been separated from us. [And if that's a lie, it doesn't show.

What did you do with the Division of Security Operations?

[She manages a grin.] And Sherry. My nickname's Shary. Or Shar, now, I guess. Nice to meet you.

So SHIELD's a bit like the BSAA... only without the bio-weapons. Got it. [Sherry's never heard of SHIELD, but then again, there are still a couple of things that the government keeps under wraps. It doesn't help that she's not exactly a high-clearance agent.]

Regenerate? [For a moment, Sherry's taken aback by the way Sharon said that so casually. She tries to recover from it quickly though, as she doesn't want to raise suspicions. Hopefully she'll only suspect that Sherry's surprised at the fact that there are people who can regenerate.] ... How?

I've noticed the cameras too - a bit unsettling - but I can't seem to find a source for them. I tried tracing the ones in the random house I picked to stay, but they don't exactly lead to... anywhere.

Shoot. [There goes that idea, and it didn't even have time to surface.] They're probably watching us from a remote location so they aren't in the radius of whatever they decide to unleash here.

Yes, that's my guess too. I haven't been here long enough to formulate any plans as to investigate all this, but I will. This is really quite bizarre, this place.

Ugh, tell me about it, and I've seen some really weird stuff. More than enough to last a lifetime.

You mean besides the entire town looking like it was put in a time capsule? I haven't run into anyone who's got a phone on them. No phones in the houses or stores either. It's like someone doesn't want us to have contact with the outside world.

Generally when you're kidnapped and put in a kind of holding cell like this, whoever put you there doesn't want you to dial out.
