Hello, hello, is anybody hearing this? My name is Troy Barnes, I'm a student of Greendale Community College and I am trapped in what I assume to be a Saw movie.

[growing slightly hysterical] I swear to GOD, if that little clown dude comes rollin' out on a tricycle I am just gonna lose it. There is something very unsettling about a puppet riding a bike. I- I just can't take that kind of fear right now. The Great Muppet Caper still gives me nightmares.

[tears welling up, Troy desperately hoped someone responded soon to assure him no puppets would be piloting any wheeled devices into the room]

[Veronica is on the floor, her hair mussed, her body twisted.]

That's the best you can come up with? Puppets on bicycles?

[Cue the slow, slow grin.]

You've been kidnapped here. We all have. I think we're being filmed but I'm sure it's not... a Saw movie. Are you near the fountain?

[ He'll bring some tissues... ]

Oh god, I knew it. You're that Jigsaw guy. Please don't threaten me with saws and force me to put together puzzles without looking at the box or whatever it is you did in those movies.

I... never really made it past the puppet.

[The Hulk went into the forest, but it was more metal monsters -- ones that looked like him, no less -- and he couldn't get through. He is curious about what's going on with that prisoner, but he has no real way to contact the others. So now he's in the town, looking for someone familiar, when he spots a human having a meltdown.

He stops and stares at him. And snorts.]

What kind of monster would do this to innocent people?

Well, I mean, I guess I could be in a much scarier movie, but my mom insists that Timmy the Tooth was not actually a real movie and just a fever-induced fantasy I had when I was a kid...

[he perked up at the sound of the word fun, ignoring all the malice it was laced with]

Fun? Oh thank god, you must be one of the good guys.

I DON'T KNOW! [Veronica covers her face with a hand, brushing away what might be tears.]

Has- has he said anything about what to do next? Can you- Is there a note? Anything?

[A blank stare]

So... you're saying the reason I ended up in community college is because... of puppets.

Everyone made fun of me, but I told 'em they could think on their own. Now it's all making sense...

[Troy stares back, tears temporarily withheld by pure fear]

...I think I'll take that clown puppet now.

Yes, Troy. Puppets.

[ A beat. ]

Don't tell me you seriously believed it when your parents told you they didn't come alive at night while you slept.

[To Loki's credit, he does manage not to look completely disgruntled. Or completely gleeful, which is an equally good option under the circumstances.]

In the mean time, you must trust no one, particularly anyone making unusually friendly overtures towards you. Be careful -- they're charming, and they're convincing, but you mustn't believe them. That's what the doctor said, and next thing I knew he was jabbing a needle into my screaming eight-year-old arm. The words don't exactly carry the same weight after something like that.

Dooo you see any doctors? Seriously, man, chill, it'll make things easier to process.

[Growing more hysterical, now flailing a bit]

No- Nothing. There's nothing. Are- are we gonna die?

I don't know! I don't KNOW!

Maybe he didn't see you hit yourself! Maybe you have to hit yourself harder! I don't know!

You don't see a doctor. You never see him. What you see is a kind stranger waving around lollipops and sounding like the coolest guy in the world.

As soon as you chill, that's when Mr. Coolguy makes his horrifying transformation into Dr. Needlefist.

Of course I believed them. Then again, I believed a lot of things they told me that I am only now discovering were less than true.

...You think the puppets got to them?

The puppets get to everyone.

That's what I designed them to do.

Kidnapped? Aw man, that seems lame. [Knowing it was probably not a Saw movie sure took a load off, however.]

A fountain? I'm not sure. Why? Are we going to wish ourselves out of here?
