[The display opens on the cemetery. The only interesting thing is a pile of rock and ash in front of a gravestone. How long has that been there? The cemetery isn't a wholly popular place, it could have been days. For a long moment, nothing happens. Birds chirp, wine rustles the trees.

Then-- there, do you see it? A piece of the rubble twitches slightly, then begins to roll up the pile. Another joins it in motion. Pretty soon all the pieces are shaking and rolling over each other, reshaping into the vague form of a body. A line of stones reach out towards the camera, pulling it up and in. Finally, the round shape on top solidifies into a head, complete with a face, the eyes open wide and he gasps, taking in the first breath of life he's had for days.]

Wha-- [He breathes heavily, slowly becoming more human than statue. His clothes are tattered, singed, and dusty.] What the hell?

A place called Cape Kore. Don't worry if you haven't heard of it. I haven't either.

It's run by douche-bags and apparently escape is impossible.

[Sky is blue. Grass is green. Charlie will fight her way out someday, she's sure.]

[He nods, taking it in, already thinking of escape routes.]

A Cape, like, on the water? Anybody tried a boat?

[He assumes that's a name.]

Darwin. Good to meet you.

Yeah. I arrived near the water and rumor has it, that's a way out. But the person who spread this rumor is no longer with us, and was very vague about how helpful she could be even though she insisted she could so help us we just need to listen. Or...some vague and useless shit like that.

Not with us as in she got out? Or not with us as in... not with us?

[Even though Charlie doesn't really care, she tries to pretend she does. That woman was of no concern or use to her. She worked for their captors. Zero fucks given.]

Well that ain't good. [Means he'll probably still try the water, though.

He stands, dusting himself off and finally noting the sorry state of his clothes.]

There a department store or something on this Cape? A guy's gotta have the proper threads.

Not that I've seen. Best thing to do is probably ask on the device if anyone has anything you can borrow.

I suppose that can wait, then. At least my clothes survived at all.

Might be wise to get used to the place before asking around for stuff.

[After some fumbling, it switches to private. Charlie holds her had up and a second later, there's fire weaving between her fingers.] Is mutant the technical term?

[Eyebrows raised, Darwin is impressed.]

That's what they tell me. Probably should keep it on the down low. Too late for me, I put my show on wrist-TV for everyone to see.

There's more. Until a few days ago, I thought I was the only one. Maybe it's the same for you, and you just haven't met any others yet.
