001 | Castiel | [Accidental Video]
[The wearer is obviously unaware that the thing on their wrist is recording anything. The image moves with their arm. It's a bedroom. There's a brief flash of another person and then the screen fills with a glow.]
'Cas, what the hell.'
[Now, there are trees and a road. The wearer starts to run. There's a glint of something long and metallic in his hand. There's a crash somewhere and they stop cold, panting harshly.
They move towards the sound slowly until finally it's revealed to be a squirrel.]
... How? Dean?!

... How? Dean?!

He didn't expect being in a population that was generally human. ]
Finding you and giving me that spiel about how you left to protect me. Benny ain't even here, man. I've got no idea what brought us here...but it sure as hell wasn't the plan me and Benny set up.

[He goes quiet for a moment.]
You and Benny got out, Dean. Without me.
[The scenery behind him changes again. This time, the fountain can be seen behind him.]

[ Dean scowls a bit before turning on his heels and moving towards the fountain before coming to a stop when he was a couple feet away from Castiel. ]
[ action ]
[ Dean practically strolled up to Cas, reaching out his hand before pushing against his shoulder. ]

The exit was only made for humans, Dean. We tried, but--[He clenched his fists.] We failed and you were gone.

You were holding my hand and then... then you weren't holding it anymore and neither of you were there anymore. After that, I had to get back to running.

[ He looks Cas up and down, checking him over. ] You look good...I considered shavin' that raccoon you have on your face. [ Dean looks like he hadn't slept in days...which was true. His body was still hot-wired for Purgatory. ]
no subject
[He smiles a little.] I wouldn't have minded if you did.

Dean pauses as he looks Cas up and down again...well...he knew he was forgetting something. He stepped over, patting Cas on the shoulder with a smile and shaking his head. ]
You got it buddy. I'll even add a clean shirt into the deal as long as we get out from the open, huh?
no subject
What is this place? I can't sense anything more than a few miles out.
no subject
No one knows. Everyone just woke up a day or two ago. [ The days all seemed to blur together for Dean. Don't mind him. ]
no subject
And I was unconscious the whole time?
[Strange, given that Castiel doesn't sleep, but he supposes Purgatory did take a toll on him.]
no subject
Yeah. I was goin' have a doctor take a look at you if you didn't get the fuck up in the next hour or two, but you beat me to it. Angels and sleeping don't really mesh well.
[ Not that Dean was even sure he was sleeping. Cas was just...there. Planking even. ]
no subject
[He's not sure what a doctor could have done, but he appreciates the concern. He hadn't deserved Dean's forgiveness. He hadn't deserved anything from Dean but anger.]
no subject
[ Dean forgave him. Regardless if Cas thought he didn't deserve it or not. Cas was the only other person other than Sam who Dean thought of as a friend. ]
no subject
I doubt any doctors do, Dean. The problem wasn't physical.
no subject
I'm aware of that, Cas. But it was the only option I was willing to give a chance.
no subject
Thank you, Dean. For trying.
no subject
Fat luck it did anyway. You woke up before the doctor even got a chance to get a look at you. [ He pauses. ] Now how you feel about headin' back so I can finally crash?
no subject
Let's go.
no subject
How're you doing by the way? Everything workin'?
no subject
[Even at only half-mast, Castiel would always have Dean's back. That's simply what he does.]
no subject
[ To be stuck somewhere else...Dean didn't like it. In Purgatory he knew what was coming at him. Here he had no idea. ]
no subject
Are you okay?
no subject
Peachy. I had to drag you around this place and I haven't really slept all that much.
