[When the feed comes on, it's... probably an accident, really. The only thing in view is murky water and a lot of bubbles, occasional flashes of silver, and every now and then, a pair of feet. The sound is muffled because of the water, but there's a lot of obvious splashing going on.

There's a split second image of a fish and then the comm is out of the water. Cass is catching fish in the forest, no big deal. She tosses her prize toward the pile of them on the shore, then notices her comm is on. Must have been hit by the fish. Or a rock. Hmm.]

Um. Hi! [She waves, then uses her thumb to wipe off some of the water.] Catching food. Have a lot, now. If you... need some, can come take. Lots of fish in river.

Can show... how to catch, too. How to clean, cook.

[She turns to show her catch and there's... kind of a lot of fish. She's been at this for awhile, there's enough for everyone.]

Might... need pillowcases, to carry home.

Find house seventeen, then go... straight into forest, from porch. Didn't go in far, should be... easy to find.

[She cuts the feed, but "a few" turns out to be a relative term. It's almost half an hour before she hobbles into sight, a satchel bag at her hip.]

Fish person! Hi! I'm Veronica. You have fish, I hear!

[Cass points to the pile of fish, choosing not to comment on the Fish Person bit. She's already being called Science Girl, what's one more weird nickname?]

Cassandra. Can take what... you need, for whole house. Can get more easy.

Nice to meet you, Cassandra.

I don't need much. I live all on my lonesome. [ She offers several pillowcases to Cass. ] Found these in a linen closet. Can't imagine needing so many, so I thought I'd contribute to the... fish shipping.

Did you really catch all these? Not that I'm doubting you, it's just- fish and me don't get along. Nature and I don't get along.

[For a second, it's like talking to Stephanie. Conversations with her were always Cass listening while Steph talked, taking in more than she actually contributed, and it had always felt good to just watch her body talk.

Veronica isn't Stephanie, but there's still some familiarity to this, so it's easy to fall back into the habit of just letting a blonde girl lead the conversation.]

You can learn. Just takes patience. Do you live alone... on purpose?

[It'd be sad if Veronica were all by herself and actually lonely.]

On purpose? [That's a new one. Veronica had just taken a house on her own when she first arrived because there were so few people back then that there were enough houses to go around, and, frankly, she didn't trust many of the others. As places had filled up and more people got housemates, she... just didn't have a roommate. Housemate. Which was fine by her. She could be a lone wolf. She's good at lone wolfing. So long as nothing's attacking them, she's really good at it. Besides, if she had a housemate, it wouldn't be like sharing a tiny apartment with her Dad. It would be like sharing a tiny house with someone who decidedly wasn't her dad. It would be weird.] Nah, just one of those things. It's cool, though. I can party hardy and take showers so long I look like an eighty-year-old.

So how do you... [She points at the fish, not at a loss for words, just... unsure of the accepted terminology.] Nature?

[Cass grins at that.]

Like long showers, too. Where's your house? Can come visit.

[And that question, it's kind of hilarious but Cass makes sure she doesn't laugh. Seems like it would be rude to do that.]

Very carefully. Want me to show you?

Uh... sure! [Somehow, Veronica isn't entirely convinced she isn't going to die as a result of this, but she has to learn how to take care of herself here. One of the ways to do that is to learn how to not die because of nature. Or whatever Cass is going to teach her.

And I'm in House 4. Behind the bar. It's not as much of a party house as it sounds.
