001 | Charlie Luciano | Voice
[Hello Cape Kore, were you feeling a lack of New Yorkers you needed to fill? Another very strong accent comes over the device, deeper this time and much angrier.
Do to the automated response from his wrist... whatever, Charlie has come to the conclusion that it's some kind of direct line to his kidnappers. So please do excuse him for making rather a colourful first impression.]
I don't know who you thinks you are, you sick fucks, but whatever they're paying you ain't gonna be worth jack shit when I gets my hands on you, you hear?
And what kind of idiot you gotta be to dump someone and not fucking search 'em first?
Hey! [Charlie's voice becomes a little more indistinct as he moves his wrist to flag down a passing stranger.]
What to I gotta do to get a fucking car around here?

Hey! [Charlie's voice becomes a little more indistinct as he moves his wrist to flag down a passing stranger.]
What to I gotta do to get a fucking car around here?
Re: [action]
[If you mean they've both been abducted and had their lives threatened, then yeah, that much is true.]
Spoke to someone who told me that if people try to leave, they die.
[That's some shit they haven't dealt with before.]
Re: [action]
[Come on, Meyer can't die. He needs him around.]
Re: [action]
[Because he would. He doesn't like being told where he can and can't go. The threat of potential death, however, has him hesitant.]
Re: [action]
Re: [action]
[Not that he has any extra ammunition, but still.]
[action]
We just gotta work slow and figure out what the story is here. There's gotta be shit no one's telling us, and shit they are telling us that ain't true.
Re: [action]
I've been taking notes, trying to find a pattern. I've been writing down what little we know about this place. We can start with that. Compiling information.
Re: [action]
[He can always rely on you, Meyer, to be an obsessive hoarder of information.]
Has anyone else in this place had your same bright idea?
[Meanwhile he's going to wander over and take a look in the kitchen. Yikes. Pretty sparse.]
Re: [action]
[He's already wandered throughout the house, and found it generally lacking, but it'll suffice for now.]
We should plan for this like we're gonna be stuck here awhile.
[action]
Re: [action]
I hadn't quite gotten to figuring that out yet.
[For all his logistics, statistics, and planning, he does have an unfortunate habit of forgetting to eat. And really, he hadn't even been here a full day, so he hadn't particularly registered feeling unusually hungry.]
[action]
There's gotta be at least a fucking hot dog stand somewhere in this place.
Re: [action]
Have you actually taken a look around? A hot dog stand'd be nothing short of a miracle.
[action]
[He is taking them down from the shelf as he speaks, though. Because he knows how long Meyer can go before he remembers to eat anything and he plans to rectify this. Even if it is with beans.]
Re: [action]
[He hasn't even searched the cupboards yet. Somehow he'd been assuming they'd be empty, since the rest of the house isn't exactly in mint condition. Regardless, the idea of living on canned beans and canned beans alone doesn't appeal to him, either.]
[action]
[He notes another camera above the cupboards, and fishes out a tea towel to throw over that one.]
Re: [action]
[Sadly, that's likely true. Although he really doesn't think those three things can possibly go together in an appetizing combination.]
Re: [action]
[He's sticking to just the beans for now, rummaging through cupboards and drawers until he finds a can opener and a saucepan.
Meyer's staying awfully far away, for when it's just the two of them at least, and he keeps glancing over his shoulder. With the way things have been going today, he wouldn't be surprised if he could vanish into think air at any moment, and he intends not to let that happen.]
Re: [action]
[Hey Charlie, did you ever need to be reminded that you've been arrested and Meyer hasn't? You're welcome.]
I got a strange question -- where were you right before you showed up here?
[He's trying to figure out if they're from exactly the same time. From what he's heard, things don't always work that way, and the idea of that concerns him.]
[action]
Re: [action]
[He's relieved. He's not sure if he should tell Charlie why he's relieved, but after a long pause, ultimately decides it's probably better if everyone's on the same page.]
Not everyone here's from the same time, or so they say. Stands to reason that maybe one of us could have been from a different time, too, right?
[action]
[He empties the can of beans into the pot with some aggression.]
Like there ain't enough here already that's fucked up.
Re: [action]
[Uh oh. Swearing. Someone's really feeling petulant.]
[action]
[They sure are missing that heroin deal. Fuck, after all the work they did.
But dammit the cameras are off and they're alone now and Meyer is getting bitchy so Charlie wanders over. It's just a hand of his shoulder before traveling over to his neck, thumb stroking behind his ear.]
Re: [action]
[Because, really, he's found that a surprising number of people want them dead. It seems unfair to Meyer -- after all, he's just doing his job. So his job might involve some people getting shot; that's their problem.
At first he's inclined to brush Charlie's hand away, feeling too irritated for something as simple as a gentle touch, but then he sighs. They're alone, and they're stuck, and neither of them are happy about it. He might as well let Charlie try to calm him down.]
