Day 62; Video 002

[bostonhowler]

[She's walking near the rotten piers, looking at her wrist. Her wings behind her are fluttering in the slight breeze.]

I was wondering if anyone had seen any barbecues around? It's cold, but I'm from Boston, so we're used to winter barbecuing.

I was going to -

[She trips and falls forward.]

Ow, what's -

[Her wrist twists as she scrambles away screaming in that high-pitched horror movie way. There's a brief flash of legs and then a flare of fire as the wooden piers catch behind her.

She's framed in flame, staring at the half a body.]

HUNTERS!

One of my younger brothers said much the same.

[ He didn't care. ]

I know. My prophet found the other half yesterday. I'm not sure what or who is responsible yet.

[bostonhowler]

[She wipes at her eyes, clinging to the presence of her chosen saint, to the fact that she's not a werewolf right now, that she hasn't been found by hunters.

She cocks her head, the smoke-wings behind her dissipating the weak starlight.]

Your prophet? I thought St. Gabriel is the caretaker of soothsayers.

Not all prophets are soothsayers. Regardless, Chuck should be Gabriel's, but Gabriel decided that he was no longer acting in his duties, and I picked them up to spare Michael the burden.

[ He was a little bitter about it, actually. ]

Gabriel would rather be slumming.

[bostonhowler]

[Her eyebrows rise, but she has to stifle a giggle. There's something odd about hearing a toddler say 'slumming'. It's too adorable. And while she hopes he wouldn't smite her, grabbing him and hugging him is probably not the best idea.]

Is he older or younger?

[ He'd probably take the affection right now. ]

Younger. Michael is the eldest, Lucifer, then I. Gabriel is the youngest.

[bostonhowler]

[She watches him.]

You talk like pack. Like... the ages don't matter, what matters is that everyone is there.

I didn't have siblings, but I always had the pack.

Ages matter - the older ones are always more powerful than the younger ones, and with some minor exception, rank is determined by age. But the four of us...we were always different. Michael raised us, all of us, since he was young himself. And then Lucifer with him. Michael raised us all.

[ He can't help the way his voice catches. Michael was as much father to him as Father was, in a lot of important ways. ]

We were always closer. And we raised the others, took care of them. Took them to Earth, taught them to walk upon it. Guided them, lead them. We're all siblings, even if we aren't equally as close.

[ Without Michael, it's why Raphael was floundering. ]

After Lucifer Rebelled and was cast out, the three of us tried to fill his void. Then Gabriel abandoned us, and Michael and I were left-

It's just me, now.

[bostonhowler]

[The issue of rebellion is a touchy one. She wants to ask so many things, clarify some things, gain her own understanding of how the worlds work and refine her faith more than she already has.

(Religion is fluid and should be. Questioning God isn't amoral, just must be done with respect.]

Not just you.

[She offers it gently. Brigid really wants to hug him.]

I will also help, no matter what.

[ He smiles weakly, and on this form it almost looks shy. ]

And I am grateful for that, truly. But you're not one of my siblings, and that means you cannot do what it is I need. They are all younger than me, and I must take care of them.

[bostonhowler]

Surely you don't mean to do it alone?

[He has family here. They can offer help. Like the pack.]

That's what family is for: to help.

Archangels take care of the others. It's what we do. Lucifer however...He doesn't seem interested now.

[ And it hurts, it aches, and Raphael fights to keep it away. ]

I can't ask, or expect, the younger ones to take care of me.
