[He's pointing his wrist at the giant box in the center of town.]

Anyone want to tell me what the heck I'm looking at. I think I heard "old Norse" and that just begs the question of whether we have anyone who can read old Norse. I'm afraid I don't speak any dead languages, myself, and this isn't anything I've seen before.

Screaming? [She draws nearer and presses her ear against the stone. She listens for a couple seconds and pulls away.]

Shit.

[She stands back, then takes a running start, using the speed to help her kick along the side to reach the top. She kneels on the top and studies the top closely.]

These symbols. Do we know what they mean? Or do we just know they're nonsense that looks like stuff that isn't nonsense?

Empty chatter from the look of it. With what Loki and Dr. Barrett have said, our best hope is a code, but I'm no code-breaker.

Do any of those pictures mean anything to you?

Loki? [Sharon looks down at him in alarm before realizing who he means.] The other one, right? Not ours?

And no. If Thor were here... [Her lips purse together grimly.] But he isn't.

[She runs her fingers over the symbols.] Natasha's not shabby with codes. I'll ask her to take a look.

No cracks so far? No way in? [Was someone in there, or was it a trap?]

[But if someone's in there, they can't afford to not help them, can they?]

No, he isn't. [Thor really would be nice in this situation.]

There's a hole, but it's... well, you can climb up there and take a look for yourself.

[She moves over to look at it and frowns before sitting back and running a hand through her hair.]

Do you know what people have hit it with so far? Bullets or anything stronger?

Adamantium.

[He winces.]

Oh, that reminds me. My man shot your man in the head. He got up again, but I'm thinking about shipping them both out to sea. Thoughts?

[One of his men shooting, and one of her men getting up again?]

What did Logan do to warrant that?

[Yeah, Logan's enough of a trouble-maker that she's just going to assume that the whole mess was at least mostly his fault.]

[She goes back to studying the box, running her fingers over every inch of it. Adamantium. The cube is stronger than adamantium. Just fucking great. What she wouldn't give to have Hank McCoy here. Even Pym, at this point.]

The dumbest dick-measuring contest I've ever seen.

[He's pretty sure that those two need to be separated, either way. They were like children and he'd inclined to put them both on time out, even if Clint's would be more severe.]

It might have been a little more Barton's fault, actually.

If Logan was involved, it would be a dumb dick-measuring contest. [She hopes the two of them hadn't actually waved their dicks around. She wouldn't put it past either one of th-]

Barton's fault? How?

[Coulson could easily blame Logan. God knew enough people wanted to shoot him for a reason. Or a multitude of reasons, rather.]

He... shot Logan in the head. I'm having a hard time seeing that as a normal amount of retaliation for some verbal antagonism.

[He's relieved to see that she seems about as annoyed about it as he is.]

[She raps her knuckles against the cube, her ear pressed against it. She can still hear the screams. She still has the sneaking suspicion that this might be some sort of trap.]

Verbally, Logan can be incredibly antagonizing. Even Steve had problems with him sometimes. He won't seriously hurt Clint, though, and nothing Clint does to him will seriously hurt Logan, either. So long as they can each focus on the more important matters at hand, which I'm confident they can, things should work out all right.

[She hops off and lands on the ground nearby.] And if they bitch about it, too fucking bad.

I haven't heard of any book on Ancient Norse in the library, but I'll swing by and see what I can find.

[She pauses, studying the box with a trouble expression.] I don't like this. I feel like a mouse in a psych experiment.

No, I don't like it, either. Whatever this is, it's someone toying with us.

[He sighs.]

I think Banner's in the library. In the meantime, I've got to see if our almost-likable Loki wants to look for a code in all of this, because Dr. Barrett doesn't speak it well enough to code break. She's been incredibly helpful, though.

Speaking of, that Loki is unnerving, too. He doesn't seem nearly as much of a threat as ours is, but that almost worries me more. What's your read on the guy?

Someone from his world warned me that when he's bored, he isn't exactly the kindest, but my read on him is that he's mostly harmless due to not giving a shit. Seems to me like he could easily hurt any of us, but he doesn't seem to care much for that option.

I say keep an eye on him, but I don't think he's any sort of threat for right now.

[Sharon nods. Not to mention that if Loki ever did become a threat, it would be problematic, to say the least.]

I asked a girl named Lydia to look around in the library. I'll talk to her and see if she's seen anything that could help Dr. Banner.
