Locked to Phil and Sharon

So...

Is this the part where we do the debriefing thing? Because I'd like to know what's... going on. I haven't really seen much after Lydia and I...

[He trails off and glances away; running away is still eating him up with guilt. Justified guilt? Could he have been more useful trying to take Loki out? Or would it have just caused more destruction, more fear?]

I'm guessing you didn't... need me, after all?

Locked to Clint

[In this one he should look more sure of himself.] How're you doing, after everything? Still having weird box feelings?

Hi there. Bruce here with your friendly news report.

[For someone who previously delivered all his news so calmly and with a jovial sarcasm, now that edge is obviously more tense, more brittle.]

So, first and most noticeably, don't go outside unless you want one of several Cujos and their feline companions to eat you.

[He's so past sugarcoating that. What is there to sugarcoat when Kobra went on the network bleeding and begging for help? Bruce would've gone, but the situation was taken care of, and so he just stayed quiet and stayed inside. Because if he goes out there and something jumps him? Yeah. They'd have bigger things to worry about than giant wolves. But on the upside, probably no more giant wolves...]

Even more unsettling than man-eating beasts, um, some people in lab coats definitely stole someone. So, uh, take the time you have indoors to set up some impressive booby traps. Nails on the floor, buckets of water over the doors, that kind of thing.

P.S., uh... anyone want to get on... looking into that? That's not my area of expertise, but surely... someone? [Anyone?]

Alright, and thirdly, that giant box. We've made enough progress to know that the tree on one side is... [He squints at his notes.] Yggdrasil from Old Norse mythology. I probably butchered that pronunciation, but the point is, big tree, and those eight globes must mean something. One's missing. All the others are made of a distinct material, like one's gold, one's some kind of volcanic stone...

Any takers? I can't get to the library without having my face chewed off, so let's powwow this.

[Not to mention someone's hogging the book, but Dean's brother was just creepily abducted by men in white coats, so Bruce is feeling a tad more lenient toward him right now. Except for where he was totally mean to Lydia.]
preytosociety: I really want you to leave, but I don't know how to say it without sounding like a dick (This is so awkward)

In case you hadn't noticed, there are very large wolves roaming around outside. Wolves that are supposed to be extinct. They hunt in packs and are extremely dangerous. Unless you're a suicidal bonehead with an incredibly idiotic death wish, I recommend staying inside and in groups. Do not try to fight them.

[She sighs, rolling her eyes.] Yes, Kobra, that last part was primarily directed at you. [Idiot.]

As for the stone cube, Dr. Banner and I have been examining the star map etched into the sides and come up with a lot of nothing. We know the map does not reflect our solar system or any of our constellations and is therefore not from our galaxy. We also know the writing carved into it is in Old Norse and holds no real meaning. As for the indentations and the tree... I had a theory on that, but the book I was looking for is missing.

If anyone else has something they'd like to contribute, please contact either Dr. Banner or myself. Thank you.

[ Feed flickers on and Clint's still chilling near the box with a pencil and paper, shadowing some of the eching so the research people actually have something in their hands when they're flipping through the stupid books. He's not going to be doing the research, per say. But...still. ]

I noticed earlier that someone was talkin' 'bout their friend disappearing. I haven't seen two others for a while either. [ He watches y'all. He just doesn't like you so he doesn't talk to you. ] 'm not sure if anyone else noticed. Maybe I jus' didn't see 'em. But...uh...yeah, I don't miss details, cos 'm awesome.

Oh! Maybe the box ate them, huh?

You said something about coffee and pretending to be interested in science?

What about you and me, the library, and figuring out what the map on the side of our mystery box is trying to tell us? Astronomy, musty books, logic puzzles that could result in imminent danger... What do you say?

[Bruce knows better than to assume that a teenager can't be intelligent. That goes for all teenagers, but he was also a teenage genius once, and he knows the value of being taken seriously. He also suspects there's a great value to be had in taking her seriously.]

[He's pointing his wrist at the giant box in the center of town.]

Anyone want to tell me what the heck I'm looking at. I think I heard "old Norse" and that just begs the question of whether we have anyone who can read old Norse. I'm afraid I don't speak any dead languages, myself, and this isn't anything I've seen before.

[ Feed flickers on from one of the other residents (Private Ryan is the first at the scene) after a loud CRASH was heard throughout the town. If anyone else was awake they would have heard it and if they had been around, they would have seen the stone box drop beside the fountain just the same when they had awoken there. Miles attempted to get a good image of everything that the box had to offer -- attempting to take in all the mysterious symbols carved into the box. This wasn't right...only people had been showing up in this place. This was the first inanimate object and Miles had to step back to get the entire thing in the view for the others. ]

Houston, we have a problem.
