[Well hello! Have a Doctor sitting back in a chair, leaning on the back legs with worn converse on the table propping him back.]

Has it ever occurred you lot have strange dreams? One with crystal castles and blurred figures roaming about? I'm all for symbolism, but I think I've worn my welcome on that front. Dreams aren't my specialty.

[There's a sharp inhale as he looks away briefly, rubbing at a closed eyelid.]

I don't suppose there's a policy of how to return and offer an apology, is there? How about, let's not form a queue outside my door and try to set up an inquisition. I'd much rather share this over a cuppa.

Right then, has anyone seen Sharon?

[Her room looked lived-in, but there weren't any signs of her being around the house. And yet there was an unfamiliar feeling coming from the other spare room, but no one was there during his initial investigation. This was enough to flare up one of his lingering headaches, a hold-over he wasn't quite able to shake off from stabilizing his broken mind. But that will be dealt with later.]

Well, the whole being shared thing is definitely being "off," I'd say. At least for normal people. Most people can't control their dreams, retain the information, share them, or broadcast them. That goes for the majority of the multiverse and humanoid creatures within it. So, all I have to say? We're being screwed with.

[She understands loss all too well.]

Hopefully those aren't as common here as they are in my world, but I'll keep my eye out. You never know!

Ah, that's probably an understatement... [The Doctor replies almost dreamily.] When aren't we being experimented on? Not a few days go by where everything's innocent and calm.

This is the longest she's been quiet since, well, the body changing incident, really. She's rarely out of touch like this, so it leads me to wonder if she's gone.

I've only been here about thirty days, so I can't really comment on that overall. [It... could be a really active month for their captors? Or something.]

Perfectly understandable. I won't say you should hold out hope, but you shouldn't lose it, either.

Ah, you're right...

[He would try and stay positive, but given he never got a proper chance to talk with her since the species swap time period, he couldn't help but to feel guilty about it all.]

You don't sound very convincing, but I'm not going to pry this time. If only because I've been there before.

Yeeeeah, there's some stuff I would've like to have talked to have talked to her. If anything, it's because she's my friend and I want to make sure she's alright.

Hopefully she's lying low somewhere plotting our escape. [One could dream, right?]

Understandable. I haven't been here particularly long, but I'd be sad if I wasn't able to confirm someone's safety before my leave -- or theirs. [She was still holding people off, drawing them close by being charming and pleasant, but only allowing the surface to really be seen. It was easier than losing people. It was always easier.]

You never know, right? [You can practically hear the sad, thin smile she wears on the other end in her voice.]

Zatanna, if you need help or anything, you can ask me, alright? I know you don't know me all that well, but... Just ask. Anytime.

[She switches to video this time. She's an attractive nebulous 30something, it's hard to say what her age is. She sits on what might be her bed (hopefully is), surrounded by books. And she folds her hands on her lap.]

The sentiment is appreciated and returned, Doctor. Just don't get too close. I burn. [She's the flame, her relationships are moths.]

Burn? What do you mean by that?

[He switches to video and he's sitting at the kitchen table, still propped up on the back legs of the chair. Bad habits were hard to break, and he slips his feet off the table and straightens up.]

I can't tell you how literal that might be, I'm afraid. [She shifts in place, moving her legs a little so they don't start to fall asleep. Girl's got some great gams, man.]

[He's clearly intrigued, running a finger along his lower lip, obviously lost in thought for a second as he mulls this over.]

Magic user?

I did say that before, yes. I belong to magic as much as it belongs to me. I'm drawn to people I will lose, it's just one of the perks of my abilities. The more powerful the magic, the more you suffer. [Which is the closest she's ever gotten to revealing the extent of her power here; it implies that she packs more punch and pizazz than she would like everyone here to believe.]

Ahhh, that's right. Mm, I think you're safe here. There's others with powers and such.

[There's a shrug.] Not worth cooping yourself up, if you ask me. It's mighty hard getting on by yourself here.

I didn't. Say I wasn't. [She can always still keep everyone at an arm's distance. You can be charming, you can be friendly, you can hang out, heck! You can even have relationships and shut people out. And if there was one thing she was good at doing, it was making it difficult to tell that she was doing just that.] What does it matter, really?

[Shrug.]

Matters how you interpret it, I suppose. I'm just happy no one is trying to murder me just yet. Well, outside of Dilandau, I'd hate to see him when he's not injured...

[She seems very obviously conflicted, very uncomfortable with this subject. She adjusts where she sits with a small fidget, more out of discomfort over the situation than how she's sitting.]

Just give me a call if you need a shield.

[He catches the change in attitude from her, judging by the minute change in body language, and he frowns with a nod.]

I'll call you for a cuppa, fresh out of need for shields.

[Generally it's her doing the catching and her doing the flawless lying. How the tables have turned...]

Depends on what's in the cup, I imagine.

Tea, of course! I still have a tiny bit left! Not much, though...

[She meant the kind of tea, but she'd rather not get snippy. It would come off as snippy. And he's being so nice.] I don't think I'd feel right indulging in what's left, if that's the case.

[He offers a shrug.]

All our resources are limited here. I've had everything on me taken away, so it's about the only 'indulgence' I have left. Not that I terribly miss my yo-yo...

Then indulge.

I'll join you, anyway. Water would be fine. [She doesn't seem to cheer too much up, but the smile she responds with is as genuine as they come.]

One tall glass of water - on the rocks will be waiting for you!
