the Doctor | 006 | Day 87 | Video
[Well hello! Have a Doctor sitting back in a chair, leaning on the back legs with worn converse on the table propping him back.]
Has it ever occurred you lot have strange dreams? One with crystal castles and blurred figures roaming about? I'm all for symbolism, but I think I've worn my welcome on that front. Dreams aren't my specialty.
[There's a sharp inhale as he looks away briefly, rubbing at a closed eyelid.]
I don't suppose there's a policy of how to return and offer an apology, is there? How about, let's not form a queue outside my door and try to set up an inquisition. I'd much rather share this over a cuppa.
Right then, has anyone seen Sharon?
[Her room looked lived-in, but there weren't any signs of her being around the house. And yet there was an unfamiliar feeling coming from the other spare room, but no one was there during his initial investigation. This was enough to flare up one of his lingering headaches, a hold-over he wasn't quite able to shake off from stabilizing his broken mind. But that will be dealt with later.]

Just fine! Well, Logan's missing, and now Sharon, but I'm good. Want me to come to you so you can see?
no subject
[He was relieved she didn't look mangled or worse for wear. Really, she was quite lucky given his stupidity.]
no subject
no subject
Ah, there you are! All in one piece, yeah?
no subject
All in one piece. Not quite up to level, but getting there. It's not the first time I've burnt myself out. Are you okay?
no subject
[She'll probably notice, or may be not, that he was a tad skinnier than usual. He was getting better, though, he was now eating again and building up his tolerance. Even he knew he needed to gain some weight.]
I'm sorry if I hurt you or exhausted your powers too greatly, Jubilee.
no subject
You didn't. I didn't do anything that I didn't want to do. I volunteered, I told you what my powers were.
[She looks up at him.]
None of this is your fault. Miscalculation maybe, but that just means you need to change the equation.
no subject
[That earned a small laugh. At least someone still have faith in him.]
Ah, I don't think I'll be trying again any time soon. I've been punished enough for it, for right now.
no subject
[She shudders.]
So if they can screw up? I think you're good. And when you're ready to work on it again? I'll be here.
no subject
I don't think I'll be working on anything of the sort for a long while, most certainly not any time soon with a bit of a nasty return. I'm not really in the majority favorite anyway.
no subject
[Jubilee might be overprotective.]
You were trying to save everyone here. That means something. They didn't pay the price, you did. And anyone that says otherwise can answer to me and the pups.
no subject
Unfortunately, I did pay a price. It's nothing to worry about, I'm fine now, just... My failure wasn't overlooked and forgiven.
no subject
[She's okay with sticking it to the man. Like, a lot.]
no subject
[He would have a lingering headache every now and then, but nothing he couldn't handle. At least his mind was mostly sound now.]
You alright? I didn't completely exhaust your powers, did I?
no subject
[She waves at her pigtails.]
So, all in all it's about like home when I've done something silly like trained too hard for too long.
no subject
Good! That's... really good to know. I was concerned, actually. [He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly.] I really shouldn't have pushed you like that.
no subject
Okay, one more time dude: You didn't do anything to me that I 1) haven't done to myself more than once or 2) didn't volunteer for.
Really, I'm fine. I'll completely recover, and we know more now than we did. So!
[She wanders toward the kitchen.]
How about a cuppa, and we can both relax?
no subject
no subject
[She shrugs and settles loose leaves into a kettle and sets it on the stove. She makes tea like Logan does.]
no subject
[This was probably something he would have to learn, because the tea supply was most likely about out on the cape. Maybe he could make a special request to have a crate delivered... You know, if that were possible, but the cameras were available 24/7.]
no subject
Not sure everything that's in there, but it won't kill us.
[She settles at the kitchen table.]
Can you cook?
no subject
[He sheepishly rubs the back of his neck with a shrug.] I can do small things, I suppose.
no subject
[She sighs.]
See, I totally can't cook. I was barely allowed to make frozen pizzas back home without supervision, because, well. I suck at it. The numbers get all jumbled and then I end up with a stove on fire, not anything edible.
no subject
[And she too wouldn't let him near the kitchen for such reasons. Or so she thought. He liked being spoiled.]
no subject
[Jubilee braces her chin on her hand, thinking.]
If I do dishes and offer food, would she cook for me? I'm not allowed to cook for myself.
