[ Here's a face that may not be familiar to many of those who are new. He looks weary, but that's mostly just the way his face looks. He also maybe looks just the slightest bit irritated, in the way that a man trying his hardest to look patient always does. ]

It has come to my attention that not many of you know who I am. I'd like to properly introduce myself to the cape at large, for all those who are newcomers here.

My name is Edgar Stane, and I have taken up a leadership position here in the cape. I admit that I have been quiet these past few weeks, and for that I would like to apologize. I mean to have a more noticeable presence in the near future. That said and done, I have a few things that I'd like to say to you all.

Our current situation with food has been in dire straits for a while now. Since the formation of the committees, we've been doing marginally better in food storage, but it is an ongoing process. I have been working with the leaders of the committees in charge of food production to make sure that everybody gets their fair share of food. If you do not feel as though you are getting an equal share, please do come talk to me. I will do my best to resolve any problem brought to me.

Secondly, I've found what appears to be... some sort of documentation. What I've managed to make out could be important information regarding how we've all come to be here, and why we can't leave. If you are interested, again, come talk to me in person. I've taken residence in the Town Hall.

[ He gives a huge sigh. ] And lastly, I've heard rumors of people in our community who have deemed it appropriate to keep the wild animals from the forest as pets. I'd like to take this moment to remind you all what happened the last time those of our numbers attempted this, and ask you to remember the unfortunate and awful deaths that resulted from it. These are and always will be wild animals, and I urge you all to keep that in mind.

I have a specific set of skills. [ He shrugs. ] I was head of security for years. Perhaps they thought I would be an asset to their army as a general. I make no claim in knowing their reasoning.

Town Hall. [ He confirms. He'll be there. ]

Ah, I mean there was no need for me to micromanage anything that I could possibly hope to control.

Too many to count. [ He murmurs, arranging papers on his desk. ] What would you make of it? I'd rather hear your thoughts on the matter.

Fortescue. And Jazz. [ He watches Jazz sniff at the desk for a moment, and then smiles slightly. ]

It is a lot to handle, yes, but I've done so for a quite a while now. I can't say all the credit belongs to me. Dean Winchester is an excellent help.

[kore_npc]

You're welcome to look at whatever you'd please. I have no secrets here. [ Which means all of the stuff on his desk is open for looking at. He does slide the paper he'd found forward, though. ]

[ He's becoming adjusted to people distrusting him right off the bat. Defensiveness may not be the best course of action, he realizes. ] Exactly what it says on the paper. I believe they mean to make an army of us.

That depends on what you needed. I am no wizard, if that's what you're asking.

[He'd like to look at all of it, but he'll settle for just the paper for the moment, picking it up off the desk and looking at it intently.]

And where did you find this?

I believe it was Alicia. They were roommates at the time. Are... roommates? [ Hm. ]

[kore_npc]

I hadn't even thought of that possibility. That is so far outside the realm of any normal thought that a mere mortal such as I could come up with.

Did you have something else to add, sir?

This isn't news. I volunteered, and was elected for the job from the start.

It was decided a long time ago. Forgive me, I should have been more apparent from the start.

I found it outside, near the Town Hall. It was simply on the ground. I doubt that I was meant to find it.

[ Julian hangs up, and heads out to find the Hall. When he gets there, he'll wait awkwardly in reception, wondering where he should go. ]

Specific skills? Are you another mutant or demon or magic user?

He does like to take charge of a situation.

[And because she doesn't know Edgar that well, there's no euphemism to be found in that statement.]

So, this information you found. Was it in here?

[ FTR Erik's typist is thoroughly, incredibly sad that he can't make any jokes about the video game like scenario which is finding important papers on the ground. As it is, he, like so many others, is far too busy for like, pleasantries or warning, and so just stalks long-leggedly to the town hall.

He knocks briskly on the doorframe of Stane's office...type thing, if only to announce his presence. Ordinarily he'd be incredibly wary of this set-up, but he can respect not feeding this kind of information through a network that is almost certainly monitored--that and the strange inclination he feels toward the trustworthiness of the man. It's a little odd, when he hasn't trusted a human since he fond out he wasn't one, but the twinge of oddity goes ignored and unquestioned, for the moment. ]

Mr. Mayor.

[ The salutation hews dry, not particularly sarcastic; as far as Erik is concerned it must be a thankless task. ]

I;d imagine you can guess why I'm here.

Yeah. [ Dean nods, his eyes still narrowed and watching Stane. ] It also sounds like they don't know what the hell they're doing. "Seems to bring an endless supply. No amount of research has found the source."

We're screwed.

I see. You must have been busy, though I suppose all that matters now is that you intend to be more active in the future. [That was what he'd said, right? Or something along those lines, at least, which has Samandriel just a little curious.] Do you have any other current duties, aside from ensuring that everyone has food?

[ It's information and Charles is greedy for it. And so he smiles again, a little wider. ] When would suit?

Did anyone else offer? [ Excuse him for being suspicious but there's no real way to not find this shady. ]

[ He really hates communicating through these devices, which shows through with his disgruntled expression, because he can't detect lies the way he can in person. ]
