chapter one | video | day 93
[ The feed turns on to display a particularly worried-looking blonde woman, frowning more like an annoyed mother than anything. ]
You know, I'm getting major All Hell Breaks Loose flashbacks right now. Waking up in a creepy abandoned town with a bunch of people I presumably don't know? Yeah. I have a feeling this won't end well. I mean, unless the Winchesters are here by some off chance. And then...
Well, honestly, things might end worse. As much as I love them — [ she sighs wistfully, smiling to herself at the thought of her boys, then quickly returns to a slightly more concerned expression ] — they aren't exactly the best good luck charms. Even when they had a good luck charm.
[ She leans in closer, holding her hand at the side of her mouth, lowering her voice as if she's admitting a secret, though she looks particularly excited to be sharing this not-so-secret. ]
One of my favorites, by the way, Bad Day at Black Rock.
[ And then the big thing occurs to her and she frowns again. ]
I just hope there aren't demons involved. Sam didn't exactly let me keep the demon slaying knife as a souvenir for ganking my first black-eyed SOB. All he gave me was a big fat annulment and a broken heart...
[ She sighs, resigned. Nothing she can do about that now, and there's not really any point in making a big deal out of her predicament here. It's not like she has anyone back home who will miss her. Except maybe her Twitter followers. But even then... She shrugs, then offers something resembling a smile. ]
Well, at least I still have my journal. Maybe now I can get to work on that fanfic I've been meaning to write...

Oh. You know... we met in Vegas and were really drunk, and you know what happens in Vegas. Bam! Married.
But, you know, he's a Winchester, and if you know the Winchesters, you know they don't exactly do that whole domestic thing very well — at least not when both of them are around — so... Yeah! That's how I married Sam. Accidentally. By accident.
[ And not at all by drugging him with love potion. Nope. ]
Right... got it.
[She frowns, pursing her lips slightly.]
So you're a fan of the books?
Becky, on the other hand, now looks overly enthusiastic. You just asked the wrong question. ]
I'm Carver Edlund's #1 Fan. You know, he contacted me to deliver a message to Sam and Dean. [ She squeaks at the thought of it. ] Best day of my life. I was also heavily involved in the fandom until I woke up here. But that won't stop me from writing fanfiction!

[Jo looks uncomfortable even as she echoes that word, shifting slightly.]
You know, I've been hearing an awful lot about these books lately. A girl named Charlie seems to be a fan, too.
[Meanwhile, Jo is finding this whole whole book series thing to be creepier and creepier the more she learns about it.]
Well, they are making a comeback, now that they're on the internet, although it's still surprising that someone here likes them. I'll definitely have to chat her up. I haven't had a good discussion since my forum days, let alone one in person since the last convention.
There was a convention? You're kidding, right?
[Given what she knows of these kinds of things? She can only imagine what the hell went on there.]
There've been two so far, actually. Chuck was at the first one, obviously, as the guest of honor, but then he disappeared and it's not like we can really get any other guests, so it's mostly just a big LARPing convention these days. There are discussion panels, too, but. Yeah.
[Who'd have known there would have been a fan following big enough to have conventions at all? Weird. Kind of unsettling, too, but she's guessing by this point, the boys have had time to get used to it.]
What kind of things do they even discuss?
[It's a lot of questions, she knows, but damn if she ain't curious.]
Oh, you know, stuff... There's usually a panel about lore and character analysis and things like that...
[ "Things like that" being "the homoerotic subtext of Supernatural." She figured Jo would probably not want to hear about that one, though. ]
Go figure. I wouldn't think it would be all that interesting to people who weren't us, but -- I guess people have trouble looking away from trainwrecks, huh?
