chapter one | video | day 93
[ The feed turns on to display a particularly worried-looking blonde woman, frowning more like an annoyed mother than anything. ]
You know, I'm getting major All Hell Breaks Loose flashbacks right now. Waking up in a creepy abandoned town with a bunch of people I presumably don't know? Yeah. I have a feeling this won't end well. I mean, unless the Winchesters are here by some off chance. And then...
Well, honestly, things might end worse. As much as I love them — [ she sighs wistfully, smiling to herself at the thought of her boys, then quickly returns to a slightly more concerned expression ] — they aren't exactly the best good luck charms. Even when they had a good luck charm.
[ She leans in closer, holding her hand at the side of her mouth, lowering her voice as if she's admitting a secret, though she looks particularly excited to be sharing this not-so-secret. ]
One of my favorites, by the way, Bad Day at Black Rock.
[ And then the big thing occurs to her and she frowns again. ]
I just hope there aren't demons involved. Sam didn't exactly let me keep the demon slaying knife as a souvenir for ganking my first black-eyed SOB. All he gave me was a big fat annulment and a broken heart...
[ She sighs, resigned. Nothing she can do about that now, and there's not really any point in making a big deal out of her predicament here. It's not like she has anyone back home who will miss her. Except maybe her Twitter followers. But even then... She shrugs, then offers something resembling a smile. ]
Well, at least I still have my journal. Maybe now I can get to work on that fanfic I've been meaning to write...

... You know, if you don't want to talk to me, you could just not talk to me. It's not like I'm not used to people ignoring me.

Just keep your nose clean here, alright. [ Because he still has to keep her safe. ]

She knows he still cares, even though they're not exactly the best of friends or even the best of acquaintances, because that's just part of Dean's character. Act like you don't care to mask the fact that you do. She gets it.
So she nods and offers a more sincere smile with a hint of apologeticness in her eyes. ]
Don't worry, I can take care of myself. I learned from the best, right? I mean... sort of.
[ She frowns at herself, beating herself up inwardly. Why does she keep having to mention the books? Stupid Becky. ]
Sorry. I know you don't like it when I mention the books. Just... force of habit, you know?

Yeah, I guess you did learn from the best.
Let's try to break that habit now though, okay? [ He smile gets a little tighter. ]
Bye, Becky.
