I'm back, just in case anyone was wondering; it's possible you weren't, of course, since I have no idea how long I was gone.

But someone has clearly been watering my garden, so thank you for that! And the radishes are ready.

It's all just idle chatter, washing over the haze of aches and disorientation, as far as Rat is concerned. He's really not interested in anything stronger than tobacco and whiskey. "...Yeah, okay. I mean, if you don't mind? Just feels heavier today..." He smiles weakly at Balthazar, willing to let him take the hard guitar case.

He takes the case without further question, starting to worry about Rat just a little more. "Not much further. I'll make you some soup when we get there, and tea."

When did he turn into a mother hen? Dammit.

Rat grins a little, and pats Balthazar on the shoulder. He's feeling extremely rough, right now, but a lot of that may pass given an hour or two to recover. Balthazar's caught him fresh from their captor's talons, still dazed.

"You're going to spoil me. Just a crash to couch on is nice."

[tryingitall]

A crash to couch on? Balthazar just barely manages not to laugh. "You definitely need a break, friend. The house is just across the street there."

He points. "When you're back on your feet I'll make you slave away in my garden; don't worry about being spoiled."

[bluesrat]

"Oh, I've needed one for at least a decade, but I don't mind taking what I can get." He's been down so long, even a tiny step up looks good. Rat lets Balthazar lead him to the house, with the soft couch, and carry his case, and feels generally lucky just for all of that. "And I'll try to earn my keep. Need to tweak that irrigation system, still..."

"Sure, but later." The angel sets down the case, near the foot of the couch, and snags a slightly dusty throw out of a closet. "Here, have a nap. I'll find you something edible, just don't go telling people I'm an aspiring housekeeper or anything."

[bluesrat]

"N...no. I'll try not to besmirch your reputation..." He answers distractedly while looking around, and thinking the place is awfully clean and orderly for Balthazar to be protesting that. Shaking his head, he drops down to settle on the couch. He's sitting up, but if Balthazar leaves him alone too long, he just may doze off.
