I'm back, just in case anyone was wondering; it's possible you weren't, of course, since I have no idea how long I was gone.

But someone has clearly been watering my garden, so thank you for that! And the radishes are ready.

[The bitter twist to his mouth softens into a wry smile.] Well, I wish you the best of luck with it, then.

I adore art. Any sort of creativity, really, but especially visual arts like painting and sculpture. My vessel was a painter, primarily in oils. I had a very brief window of free time on earth where I was able to set up a gallery in his name. Best thing I ever did. [He sounds genuinely proud of it, not in his usual tongue-in-cheek preening fashion, but with a deeper note of contentment.]

I appreciate the well-wishing. I'll likely need it. [The other immortal or semi-eternal in her world are mostly insufferable.]

I'm a bit of an aficionado myself. [She can appreciate that sort of reaction. She's always been drawn to passionate people (or otherwise, whatever they may truly be); it's practically a prerequisite to be in her company.] That sounds lovely. I spend my downtime in San Francisco and I chose it mostly for the art culture -- aside from it being the most magical place in the United States, I mean.

Are you? [That pleases him, clearly, and he promptly forgets about the remainder of his tea.] I actually set up in Chicago, mostly because I ran into a couple students from the local community college that had far too much talent to let it go to waste. They'd damn well better be keeping the place up in my absence, though.

Do you do any drawing or painting yourself?

My father was a Vaudeville magician and a patron of the arts, a frequent opera goer, and a man that liked to keep dying performance art alive. My interests followed in his footsteps, although I do vastly prefer art of a more esoteric nature -- preferably classical. I don't much care for modern art. [She mostly means modern art in terms of "here is a box with a hat on it, this is art," of course.] That much of a fan, huh? I don't think I could ever really settle down permanently.

I'm afraid my hands might as well be fingerless when it comes to art. I do, however, play a bit of piano and guitar. I mostly express myself via occupation.

Oh, I didn't expect it to be permanent. I figured I only had a couple years of freedom, one way or the other. It seemed like the best and most useful diversion available to me. [He beams nostalgically.] In any case, it made a few people happy for a while. At the risk of sounding sentimental.

Ah, I like music, but my vessel has no particular skill.
