[Brigid is looking a bit frazzled. She'd come to the house to find a few things, maybe use the kitchen, and talk to her friend. The problem is, Charlie's scent is fading. There's something wrong. And she isn't sure where her friend is.]

Has anyone seen Charlie McGee?

She isn't at the house and I can't find her anywhere around the town, or in the woods. I've been busy, but she's normally pretty easy to find.

[She bites her lip.]

House ten is empty. If you've seen her, or if she's out there, please contact me?

I've heard, just I've been busy working on the lighthouse, making it so we can live there.

[She sighs and scrubs her other hand through her face, shoving her hair back.]

[Partly he's latching on to anything to divert from the topic of disappearances, but he'd truly be willing to assist.] And you're welcome. I just wish I had better news for you.

Do you know how to make paint or if there's any around?

[She wants to paint the walls so they're not drab, but she hasn't made it that far yet.]

If there's a lot of disappearances, then maybe the people holding us are up to something? It turns my stomach, but I can't think of any other reason.

I found a bit when I cleaned out our attic, but I'm not sure whether it would be enough for a whole room. I'll bring it to you, though, if you like.

[He considers a moment, then adds:] There was someone painting murals, though. Perhaps there's some in the general store still.

[He's quiet for a moment, worrying his lip.] Perhaps it's better not to speculate when we can't do anything about it, love.

Maybe I can get someone to paint pictures on our walls.

[She hopes so, anyway. The place is boring. She wants to see it pretty.]

I... I know. I just... I need to do something, and thinking I'm good at.

[She believes it what she's best at.]

If not directly on the walls, perhaps some posters to tack up, or even fabric wall-hangings. That might improve the insulation of the place.

[And now he's an interior decorator. When did this happen?]

Just don't think yourself into an anxiety attack. Best thing we can do is keep on.

Cold really isn't an issue for us.

[Werewolves.]

I won't. I just do better thinking of all the possibilities.

Oh? Oh. [He considers this and nods.] Fair enough.

If that makes you feel more in control, I suppose that's reasonable. I think it would drive me batty.

[Not that she can't get cold, just it's not as bad as humans.]

It lets me do something and not be completely hopeless.

[If this were anybody else, he would tell her 'That's why I drink!' with a smile. But he feels just responsible enough not to make her uncomfortable in her own faith, so he sticks with the smile, minus the joke.]

I can relate to needing to do something, at least. Well. Best of luck with the clean-up.

[She wouldn't appreciate the joke, no. But she appreciates him just for acknowledging her.
