[Brigid is looking a bit frazzled. She'd come to the house to find a few things, maybe use the kitchen, and talk to her friend. The problem is, Charlie's scent is fading. There's something wrong. And she isn't sure where her friend is.]

Has anyone seen Charlie McGee?

She isn't at the house and I can't find her anywhere around the town, or in the woods. I've been busy, but she's normally pretty easy to find.

[She bites her lip.]

Too many. Several in the last week alone.

[He has an idea of the exact number that's disappeared in the last week, but dwelling on it seems like an inadvisable idea at the moment.]

[He trails off with a small frown. There's no way to end that sentence that's not depressing.]

I've heard, just I've been busy working on the lighthouse, making it so we can live there.

[She sighs and scrubs her other hand through her face, shoving her hair back.]

Do you know how to make paint or if there's any around?

[She wants to paint the walls so they're not drab, but she hasn't made it that far yet.]

If there's a lot of disappearances, then maybe the people holding us are up to something? It turns my stomach, but I can't think of any other reason.

I found a bit when I cleaned out our attic, but I'm not sure whether it would be enough for a whole room. I'll bring it to you, though, if you like.

[He considers a moment, then adds:] There was someone painting murals, though. Perhaps there's some in the general store still.

[He's quiet for a moment, worrying his lip.] Perhaps it's better not to speculate when we can't do anything about it, love.

[ Not having been around long, Derek didn't really get the chance to know Charlie properly, but to him she stood out more than most, so the concern is genuine, and, selfishly, he hopes that she reappears. ]

Not recently, but I think I'd recognise her scent if I caught it. I'll check around, see if there's a trail left to pick up.

It's easy to find, usually, but I haven't found it anywhere.

The scientists took her once. I'm worried they took her again.

[Very worried.]

[ Scowl deepening, Derek looks that much more interested, concern rising for their whole predicament and not just Charlie's disappearance. ]

Scientists. The ones behind the cameras who also happen to be keeping us here? [ He really needs to ask around more, socialise in general. ] What did they want last time?

She didn't remember why. She really didn't remember anything much from the experience, just that she hadn't gone home.

[Hence why Brigid is worried. Hopefully, St. Raphael knows where she is.]

[ He wonders whether or not that's a good thing, that she didn't remember, even if it would have been helpful. ]

For her sake, I hope she made it home this time.

[ It's not as showy as it could be, but there is still a flutter of wings and a low rumble of thunder. ]

She's not here Brigid.

[Brigid whips around, startled. The box drops from her arms and her eyes flare blue for a moment.]

She... she is?

[She'd been hoping...]

[ He catches the box with telekinesis. ]

I believe she's been taken away, she may return, she may not.

[ He liked Charlie as well, so it's kindly said, if sad. ]

[bostonhowler]

[Brigid swallows, plucking the box from the air, gratefully - dishes break.]

If she does, will you let me know? I feel like I abandoned her.

[ Had he been closer, he would have caught it in hand. ]

I will. I'm keeping an eye out for her Brigid.

[ He liked the fire wielding human. ]

[He's never met or spoken to this girl, not even seen her around, but the news she brings has Samandriel instantly worried, and it shows on his face as he responds.]

She's not there? [That's restating what's already been said, but Charlie was something of a friend and this is about the last thing he wants to hear.] I haven't seen her... Do you know how long she's been gone?

[she doesn't know him and cocks her head to one side.]

No, she's not. I had stopped by to see her, too.

[She sighs and tucks hair behind her ear.]

A day, maybe a bit more, I think.

[That's what it smells like anyway.]

I see.

[Disappointed and only increasingly worried now, his brow furrows and he glances down.]

I know that people go missing around here, for different reasons and to different places... [And he's learning now how awful it is when it happens.] ...I hope she's alright. Perhaps she'll turn up soon, or...maybe she managed to find her way home.

[Brigid nods.]

St. Raphael said she was gone. I hope she found a way home and not into the scientists' hands again. Though neither is a really a good solution.

[He looks back up as she mentions Raphael, growing curious at her referring to him as saint. His focus quickly goes back to the discussion of Charlie, however, and he nods his agreement.]

Home would be far better than being taken by our captors. [And better than being stuck here at all, right?]

It's nice to meet you Brigid, though the circumstances are unfortunate. I'm Samandriel.
