Martha's 3rd - Video/Action - Day 98

[To anyone who has been to the clinic when it was still there, that's where you'll see Martha when the video opens up.]

In an attempt to be of some use around here, I'm opening up the clinic again. I have my credentials from Royal Hope Hospital in London circa 2008. I also have experience treating non-humans thanks to some travel in both time and space. Most recently, I have gained experience as a field medic.

For anyone who has been seeing Dr. Barrett as your physician while here on this island, you may keep seeing her. But more doctors are always helpful.

If you have any questions or would like to sit for a physical, you may talk to me here or come visit the clinic. If not, that's perfectly fine too.

[Of course, baseline physicals would be much better, but she's not going to push anyone. Martha wants to be trusted above anything else.]

[Martha grins.]

So you at least knew how to "have fun" as my brother used to say.

A little too much, by my sister's accounts. But then again, siblings are rarely allowed to be right.

Yes, but then, he's the one who has a serious girlfriend and a kid. So perhaps he did something right.

[If they were still alive. That doctor she had met in London... Tom... he'd seen Leo. Leo was part of the slave force. Martha didn't know about Keisha or Shonara. She falls silent at the sobering thought.]

[mentis]

[ A pause. ] Are you all right, Martha?

[notrosesshadow]

Hmm? [Her eyes come back into focus and the four beat tapping that had started as she went back through memories stopped suddenly.]

Yes... fine. [It's pretty clear she's not fine.]

Leo actually pushed me into becoming a doctor. Quite literally. He pushed me off a swing and I broke my arm. [She smiles, but it's not as giddy as her last one was.]

[mentis]

[ His laugh is genuine again, and he knows what it's like to want to hide certain things. He's considerate in his relationships. ]

As good a reason as any. Did he ever get his comeuppance?

I had no idea... Legos started in Denmark and were exported to the UK in 1959...USA 1960s

Well, once my arm was better, I may have set his alarm and lined his room with legos while he was sleeping...

Ah, those new building blocks that are causing a stir? I had one woman accost me in an airport once thinking I had contacts.

[Something about his statement is just a little off. Everyone knows what Lego is. Well, everyone from...]

You're not from 2008 are you? Lego is pretty huge in my time. Every kid seems to have a set. And they hurt like hell to step on barefoot!

Ah, no. 1963 I'm afraid.

I loved the 1960s the few times I went there. There's some really good stuff to look forward to.

[mentis]

Ah.

[ Well, being a mutant opens his mind up to various possibilities, he supposes. ] Time travel?

[notrosesshadow]

Mmhm. Lots of fun, but I wouldn't be able to tell you how old I actually am now.

[mentis]

Well, by your time I'm probably hideously old so let's not think about it.

[notrosesshadow]

Hideously?

[She laughs.]

You seem the type who'll age gracefully. And you never know when you'll run into an accident that keeps you from aging.

[mentis]

Oh, you're very charming. [ He laughs. ] And one can only hope, yes?

Funny, my brother used to call me a pain!

I really have to get back to work now Charles. But you're welcome to stop by any time.
