I know that this sounds odd. [ And isn't really a question that people generally ask. Also what isn't odd, around here? It's her justification ] But with what's been happening I'd like to know.

[ There's a pause. It's a touchy subject, obviously, and she's not even sure where the conversations might go ]

I want to know about your experience with death. [ She's going to try and go slow on this. As slow as Lydia Martin wanting to know something can. But things are pretty messed up. She feels pretty messed up. And she'll even tell her reasons for asking if she's asked ]

Not just if you know someone has died but... if you've seen it. [ A two second pause ] Or nearly died.

It's happened here, and could have happened a lot more. [ If Dirk hadn't put out that useful message. People were still taken but at least they were warned ]

But- Can people come back? [ It might sound crazy, but it's happened before. It happened to Jackson - twice, although that was a supernatural thing. But it leaves the possibility, right? ]

Not consciously? I keep sleep walking, or something.

[ Or something indeed - she was never asleep when it happened ]

I can be doing something or go to do something, and then the next time I know it I'll be somewhere else. And I don't know how I got there. Each time there's been a body nearby. Dead.

[venatical]

Like you're possessed. [ Dean offers it uncertainly because he's not actually sure, but it sounds like some kind of a possession gig. ]

Do you get any other symptoms? Is it cold, or... do you smell sulfur?

[intelligently]

No. Just the sleep walking. I snap out of it before I find the body.

[ There's a brief pause. She's not sure whether or not to add this, but it's important, and relevant ]

When it happened here Ned found me. When I snapped out of it he was with me.

[venatical]

And that's unusual? There aren't people with you the other times?

[ Though he makes a mental note to talk to Ned, too. It'll be different when Dean's coming to him with an actual question, he hopes. ]

When did this start?

[intelligently]

It's only happened twice. So far. [ She knows it'll happen again because Stiles mentioned it. And she trusts him ] The first time I was alone. When I came back that was the first time - I came back just after it.

[ There's a brief pause as she thinks ]

A few months before that I was wandering around the woods. Apparently I was there for two days but I don't remember it - it was the same as this. [ Minus actually coming across the dead body ]

[venatical]

[ Something happened to her a few months ago, then. Dean's still thinking some sort of possession. He thinks for a minute, and then he reaches to pull out his flask. He unscrews the lid and pulls over a glass, pouring some in, then pushes it over to her. ]

Have some of that. It's got a kick, so be careful. [ It's the moonshine that was made with holy water. ]

[intelligently]

[ Lydia looked at it for a few seconds before slowly picking up the glass, drinking whatever was in it (and quickly, thanks to the kick warning). She trusted Dean enough to do it, although with how it tasted she wanted to regret that ]

[venatical]

Some of Ellen Harvelle's moonshine, the batch that was brewed with holy water. If you were possessed by a demon, it wouldn't have just tasted bad.

[ He screws the cap back on his flask and tucks it in his pocket. ]

There are other kinds of possession, maybe, like ghost possession. But with you being called to different kinds of bodies, back home and here, I don't know about that one.

[intelligently]

You think that I'm possessed?

[ That definitely was pretty... odd. And with all the blackouts she'd been having? Why not ]

There isn't any other option?

[venatical]

It fits with the blackouts. Not sure how the dead bodies tie in yet.

[ Dean hasn't run into many people who aren't aware of their status as a supernatural being, so his mind is going to possession first. ]

Hey. You want me to look into this? There are books in the library that can help me; I saw 'em.

[intelligently]

What if they don't? [ Is that even an option? Hopefully he'll know.

When Dean asks if she'd like him to look into it at first Lydia just looks at him, only for a couple of seconds, and then she nods. He knows a lot more about, about everything than she does. It'd help ]

I wouldn't even know where to start.

[venatical]

They've got to. People don't just blackout and wake up next to dead bodies over and over again.

We'll do it together. Promise. [ He smiles at her, trying to be a little more comforting. ]

This is what my brother and I do, okay?

[intelligently]

[ Lydia doesn't smile but she does look a little more relaxed, and definitely grateful. For some reason she trusted Dean, and she knew that he could do it - or would try, based on what he'd told her before ]

Okay. What do we do first?

[venatical]

We can hit up the library and see what's there. I'll probably bring my brother in on this too.
