002 | Kobra Kid | [Video]
[Kobra's panting hard and wincing down at the little communicator.]
Can anyone who knows how to give stitches come to the church? I can't do it myself on account of it being my arm and also I don't have the supplies. I would kinda prefer one of the pretty doctors, if that's cool.
[He grins, but it's not totally there.]
Turns out I am not a dog person after all.

Then you need to get your hearing checked. [Denial is not a river in Egypt, Lydia.]
It's this situation. It's the wolves. They're both out there and I'm... [She looks up with a mix of mild disdain and severe worry] ... here with you. [And she can't tell if alone would be better right now.]

I should be helping him.

[She slowly opens the closet door, peering at him.] It wasn't even locked. Calm down. You dropped that tough-guy act pretty fast.

Nothing. Nothing is wrong with me, I'm fine. I'm--
[Her gaze drifts down and her mouth opens but no sound comes out. She wants Kobra and Daneel to be here right now.]
You're gonna think I'm crazy.

What is it?

... A while ago, I was attacked. By ... a wolf. [Is there any possible way she can make the next part sound less insane? Her brow furrows.] It bit me. It was really bad. I ended up in the hospital and then I guess I got sick because I spent two days naked in the woods with no memory of it whatsoever. It got worse after that. I started to lose it... my friends ignored me, no one would listen, and I just kept having these-- horrible nightmares. I still have them.
[She crouches down, sitting on her heels and meeting Party's gaze.] Daneel and Kobra make me feel normal and safe. If I lost either one of them... [That was too much. She'd said way too much. There's a forced smile as she puts her guard back up.] It's just not an option, okay? That's why I was crying. That's what's wrong.

Holy shit!

What? Keep in mind that if you repeat this to anyone I will have to bite your tongue off.

Yes, I'm for real. Yes, they found him. [Technically he found her.] Going back was unavoidable. The lacrosse field outside my school, and yes. American. I'm from California.

[She moves a bit closer, sitting on the floor instead of crouching, and smooths her skirt over her legs. Normally, she would have punched someone in the throat for asking so many personal questions... but there was something about these excitable man-children that was begrudgingly endearing.]
I'm 18. This happened last year.

What happened to the dog?

[She looks distant for a moment. What did happen to Peter?] ... He got away. He's in the woods somewhere.

... Why would I want to find it? And who says I'm going back?
no subject
And you're going back. [A shrug like he don't care, but don't fight this.] We're all going back.

I don't believe in destiny. That's total bullshit. We make our own fate. And If we can find a way out of here, who knows if it will be back where we came from? If there is a way to go back, there must be a way to go anywhere. Any place, any time! It doesn't have to be home. It doesn't even have to be this planet!
