[ The library is a little worse for wear now. Charles has tried his best to put everything back where it once was but from the feed it's easy to tell that it got hit by the earthquake. Shelves are cracked down the middle and books have been taken out and carefully stacked beside them, a light fixture hangs precariously from the ceiling, and the walls seem to have taken a battering as well. But everything is still standing and Charles is less concerned about the building itself than he is about the people.

He's leaning against one of the chairs when he speaks, expression and voice infused with worry.
] Hello. I'm afraid I should have spoken to you all sooner. Is everyone all right? [ There's dust caked to the collar of his cardigan and he rubs at it absentmindedly. ] Are any of you injured? Have we lost contact with anyone?

[ He's never actually encountered an earthquake before. It was rather startling and he's glad the majority of people here are adults who wouldn't panic. ] If anyone has had their housing destroyed, please get into contact with me. I'm trying to find a place where we can set up a sort of camp. There'll be food and water and if you need, medical attention. I'd appreciate it if you could check in with me. Let me know if you can't find your friends.

[ He's a little frustrated with his lack of quick response but what can you do? Charles holds back his sigh and very gravely regards the device before he ends. ] Thank you.
greatatboats: (i'm being moody. go away.)

Yeah. My brother and me took off when we were kids. Living in a boys home wasn't for us. We found the circus and they didn't make us leave. It's easy to do a good job you're terrified of messing up and having to go back. You get good.

[ He has to focus on his breath because there's a good chance he could just pass out or something. ] Sorta. Parts sucked, but when I got older I appreciated how they did things a lot more. Lot of moving around.
greatatboats: (that looks like a not fun place)

[ Sad life and Clint Barton kind of go hand in hand. Everything's been a mess for Clint since birth. No father figure that he can actually rely on. He got attached to Coulson in that regard, but it came to a screeching halt when the man died. When Kenzi told him that he showed up here only to die--he thought he was gonna lose his mind all over again.

If there's one thing that he can count on Charles for it's to talk him through a rough situation. He was the one that kept him talking while Jesse and Ned came to find him in the woods. ]
Yeah. Acrobatics for a while. After that I was good at trick shots. It's how I got my current job. That and my training.
greatatboats: (this is nerve wracking as fuck)

[ Break a window. Break the door, Chuck. Clint won't get mad. The housemates will probably let it slide as well. As long you don't leave half eaten food out on the tables. Ned gets a little anal retentive about that kind of stuff. No dirty dishes or he's chasing you with a duster like your mother.

He flinches as Charles asks for a back way. There's a back door, but he doesn't know it's status. Ned and Daneel handle all the grown up crap in this house. That includes locking the doors at night like that's gonna hold off the crazy scientists. ]
Back door. Dunno it's status. Drop your shoulder and throw your body into the door if you gotta. Breaking a door down is the least of my worries. Bust a window if you're brave. Don't tell Ned. He'll chase you down the path with a vacuum.
greatatboats: (i dunno bro)

I'll take ya out for a drink for getting up the courage to do that, Chuck. Promise. [ He's amused by how flustered it made him, but he's having a hard time showing it. It's starting to hurt. The adrenaline or whatever is starting to come to a close and it's getting to him. He wants to hold it together though. There's no telling if Charles will get more flustered if Clint responds poorly.

It's good to know that Charles likes a little chaos though. They had more in common than he thought even if Chuck was a little less into destruction. He hasn't panicked much. ]
Yeah. Attic. Proud of your thriftiness, man. You get two drinks now.

Oh. It's gonna be a genuine joy to see you try to out drink me, Chuck. You can bring your angry looking friend too. He seems like fun. [ So much sarcasm even as he's bleeding profusely. Clint's just special like that.

He shuts his eyes tightly as he tries to block out a shooting pain that's currently overtaking his brain. ]
End of the hallway. Door to the right. Stairs take you up. Try not to bump your head at the top, man.
