[ The library is a little worse for wear now. Charles has tried his best to put everything back where it once was but from the feed it's easy to tell that it got hit by the earthquake. Shelves are cracked down the middle and books have been taken out and carefully stacked beside them, a light fixture hangs precariously from the ceiling, and the walls seem to have taken a battering as well. But everything is still standing and Charles is less concerned about the building itself than he is about the people.

He's leaning against one of the chairs when he speaks, expression and voice infused with worry. ] Hello. I'm afraid I should have spoken to you all sooner. Is everyone all right? [ There's dust caked to the collar of his cardigan and he rubs at it absentmindedly. ] Are any of you injured? Have we lost contact with anyone?

[ He's never actually encountered an earthquake before. It was rather startling and he's glad the majority of people here are adults who wouldn't panic. ] If anyone has had their housing destroyed, please get into contact with me. I'm trying to find a place where we can set up a sort of camp. There'll be food and water and if you need, medical attention. I'd appreciate it if you could check in with me. Let me know if you can't find your friends.

[ He's a little frustrated with his lack of quick response but what can you do? Charles holds back his sigh and very gravely regards the device before he ends. ] Thank you.

[Someone looks a lot better. Barely any bruises and she doesn't look nearly as disheveled. There's deeper wounds that are still in trouble, but she's fine, thanks.]

How well did the library survive?

Ah, Brigid! Some of the books are ruined. Water from the pipes. But the building is intact.

[ He pauses. ] How are you?

I wish I knew more about repairing water damage to books. It would certainly help.

[Then she smiles.]

Just fine! not completely healed, but I'll be right as rain soon enough.

[ He smiles. ] Bookbinding has never really been an interest of mine but I think it would have worked in my favour.

You didn't get hurt further during the earthquake?

My one teacher was into it, but I never paid much attention.

[She shakes her head, her red hair moving to reveal the deep scratch on her neck.]

No. Our kitchen ceiling has buckled in and some of the glass from the light above broke and fell, but other than that, we came through relatively unscathed.

I think most made it out with minor wounds, at most serious. But I've not talked to everyone.

[Fortescue offers Charles a smile, if a tired one. She's been repairing her house a bit more.]

[Wouldn't it be nice to have a crisis without wounds at all... Gate's sake, wouldn't it be nice not to have a crisis. They're far too common these days.]

First a sea monster, now an earthquake. What's next?

I don't know, but I doubt we'll find out in the coming weeks. There seems to be some sort of correlation, we go a while with everything being all quiet on the Western Front and then suddenly we're all creatures from the storybooks or the walls are coming down around us.

I haven't seen anything that's not fixable, although one of the shelves in the library did fall over.

Nothing extremely serious in shared spaces that I've seen, thankfully, although my own house didn't fare so well.

Consider mine offered. And the clinic is open too. Not much damage other than having to reorganize everything.

I'll direct people you're way if they're in need. Though from what I've gathered it's minor wounds at the best. Thank heavens for small mercies.

[ The house isn't destroyed. He's not sure how Riley, Daneel or Ned faired, but Clint isn't doing too well. Being in the attic puts him at an advantage if something was to approach, but it also puts him in a vulnerable position. A branch on a tree next to the window gives and comes through it. Hard and fast. The glass shatters as an alert, but Clint doesn't have time to move. Too busy cleaning his bow which has skid across the floor away from him.

He's stuck. Pinned. Hurt. Whatever. His communicator crackles and brings him around. He blinks and tries to focus on the sound of the voice. It's a distinct voice. The branch? Well, the branch has made a home lodged in his thigh. He's stuck to the floor on his stomach which is just about the worst thing he can imagine. ] Chuck, I don't mean to alarm you, but I could use a hand. Hell I could use two.

( note: late tag in, but i had tests and quizzes. i figured chuck would be nice enough to return the favor after the sea monster incident. )

[ Charles is silent for a half a beat. It's a lot to take in and then he's responding in a panicked, definitely British fluster. ]

Ah, Clint. Of course. Hang on. [ What does he do? He's not very physically capable himself. But he can't leave him where he is. ] I'm on my way. Can you move? I can't really see.

( ooc: he's definitely going to help you omg. )

I think we're just destined to meet under violent circumstances, pal. My abduction, your sea monster adventure and now this. Our friendship is never boring. [ He's smiling, but it's incredibly obvious that he's in pain. The branch has pierced the meatier part of his thigh. He's really praying it hasn't hit the femoral artery. That would equal bad news.

Clint frowns as he tries to glance behind him at the branch. He can't see much and the more he tries the more it pulls on the branch and the muscle. Nope. That's not gonna get him anywhere. ] Not really. I'm in my attic. House twenty.

All right, I'm on my way.

[ He wonders if there's anyone he could get to come assist him. Once again, Jubilee's advice that he could use his power to reach all over the town comes to him. If he practiced, if he stretched further he'd be able to help. ]
