[Kurt's not having a good couple of days. The jarring and unnerving earthquake had the unfortunate side effect of completely leveling his major base of operations, the diner. So all cookie-baking activity has been moved to his house, which has a much smaller kitchen.

Never one to let troubles get him down, Kurt is carefully picking through the rubble to see if any spatula's survived. He could use the help, if you're passing along.

Or, if you're too far away, he's accidentally(?) left his communicator on, so the song he's softly singing can be heard all over the network.]

[Lydia was just passing by on her way home when she saw him. The implications of Kurt losing the diner hadn't even occurred to her until now.

She approaches, stepping carefully around any fallen debris in red heels that were just not meant for this kind of terrain. But Kurt was worth it. He was definitely also worth an attempt at consoling him that might not end well. Lydia needed more practice.]

[Ohhh, a Lydia. Kurt jumps a little, almost dropping his sadly-crushed frying pan. Then he offers a wan, but genuine smile.]

[Kurt hesitates a moment, then shakes his head, gently setting down the mangled frying pan and wiping his hands on his pants.]

No...no, I'm all right. I don't want to get too messy and I definitely don't want you to get messy.

[The robot barely needs it and the other two seemingly barely use it. She looks down at the rubble again before gesturing towards her house.]

[Honestly, the only reason why The Outsider had followed Kurt was because he didn't have much else to do. He'd slipped down the path a ways behind Kurt, not sure at first where his room mate was heading. Sadly, it was nowhere of interest, so he broke cover fairly quickly.]

I spent a lot of time here, since the house was so empty. I suppose I got a little attached to it.

It used to be a diner. [He waves his hand vaguely, sitting down on a block of cement.] There were ovens over there...and lots of counterspace. No Kitchenaid, but there was a nice blender.
