[ For a man who’s just woken up in a strange place with a disembodied voice speaking out of a gizmo on his wrist, Tony sounds remarkably calm. Almost amused, as he addresses not the network at large, but what he intends to be the source of unfamiliar voice that has just been emanating from the communicator. ]

Excuse you, but I don't make a habit of talking to strange, disembodied voices. Makes JARVIS jealous.

[ Still speaking in a light, even tone, he sounds like he’s giving someone some friendly advice. But the longer he talks, the more obvious the subtle edge, sharp and dangerous, to his voice becomes. ]

You ought to know. The last time someone tried this with me? It didn’t work out like they’d hoped. So whatever this is, this little unplanned vacation? It better end soon.

[ This is definitely not the voice he just heard coming out of the communicator. A moment's silence, and when he speaks again, the edge to his own is muted. ]

[ Still cautious, testing the waters, he isn't overly friendly, but he isn't hostile either. ]

[Bruce squints into the camera, and then puts on his reading glasses. There's a lot mixed up in the expression on his face -- he's a little bewildered, a little surprised, and a little... apologetic.]

... Tony?

Bruce?

[ There's a scrabbling sound, almost a fumble, and the video on his end turns on as well. He makes no attempt to keep the surprise off his face. ]

What's going on?

Oh, come on. What kind of a guy doesn't enjoy a holiday, huh? Live a little, pal.

In what, the Eighties? Been there, done that, still have some of the crappy t-shirts sitting in the back of my closet.

Jus' think of it like a vacation to...a place that kinda looks like Maine. [ With no electronics...or any other source of entertainment except fighting off formerly extinct animals. That works well. ]

[ Okay, that's another familiar voice. Tony doesn't even wait to turn the video on this time. ]

[Mina takes her time to glance at all of the other respondents before she replies. And she sounds highly amused.]

[ Tony's eyes narrow at the sight of Loki, and without missing a beat, he turns on his own video. ]

I'd say that I was assuming they let you out on good behavior, but something tells me you don't really know the definition of the phrase.

[Oh, God, Phil would know that voice anywhere. He's not even sure if he's happy to hear it or not. He takes a deep breath before answering.]

[ The video on Tony's end snaps on immediately. ]

[ He almost smiles at him. Almost. ]

Stark. [Finally, one of the three main Avengers again. But her relief may be short-lived.]

Do you remember me at all?

That's a trick question, isn't it?

[ It's one he's heard before. And one that, a time or two, has ended in a slap.

He turns the video on on his end and gives her a crooked smile. ]

How about you tell me what the right answer is and we just go with that?

Your idea of fun is a little...Well, it's not Deliverance-level bizarre, but it's certainly not what I'd consider fitting the definition.

I have to say, if this is anyone's idea of a vacation, they have terrible taste; there's next to no nightlife.

The latter. The former doesn't really happen to often. JARVIS screens my calls.

[ He's a little flippant, but certainly not as hostile as that initial communication sounded. Now, he almost sounds friendly. ]

Really? None at all? [ He goes from sounding surprised to mock horrified in the blink of an eye. ] This is dry town, isn't it?
