[Action] Arrival post

[Threads in this post take place at (or at least start at) the center of town around the fountain. If you would like to address the network or have your character wake up somewhere else, feel free to make your own post in the appropriate community.

[There's probably no harm in admitting that he's a scientist, but Bruce isn't so good at the free and easy offering of personal details, even ones that seem harmless, so the scientific reasoning comment gets a wry smile, and then he holds his hand out to hers -- and hey. That's not his watch.]

Bruce Banner, and I used to own a way cooler watch. [He takes his hand back in order to fiddle with this device. Thanks to some extremely scientific button pressing, Bruce sets off the recording on his communicator.]

Oh, well that puts me right at ease. Are you enjoying your stay so far?

So much. It's like Disney World - nice on the surface, and then as soon as you think about it... [She slides her hands against one another, one hand reaching into the distance.] Boom. Train straight to creepy town.

[She looks at the communicator on her own wrist and cues up the message herself, the lines in her forehead deepening when she hears where she's supposed to stay.] I don't think I'll be staying there.

Are you missing anything other than your watch?

[He laughs, and if he'd been concerned with how she was coping before, he feels better now. Clearly they have some of the same coping mechanisms.]

Maybe it's one of those renovated attics, like a penthouse. Do you think they leave mints on our pillows to make up for the things they stole from us?

[He doesn't have much, but he checks his pockets. Reading glasses, check. Wallet, check; he rifles through it quickly and nothing seems to be missing. Then he goes for his other pocket.]

Just my cell phone. [Recently issued. GPS enabled. He hated that, but maybe just now that would be useful.]

Yeah, I'm missing mine, too. And my camera. They'd better leave a truck load of mints.

[She looks around when she hears a commotion. A fight has broken out between a redhead and a sour-faced guy, and she can't help but lean back a little. That is... not the sort of fighting she's used to. She reaches automatically for her taser in case she needs it, only to remember it's gone.]

And my taser. They got my taser, too. Whoever they are, I'm going to choke them with mints.

[Oh, shit. That's Clint and Natasha; aren't they friends? Isn't Clint... not brainwashed anymore? Did Loki bring them here? That seems like the best solution he could think of so far. There are three -- no, four; there's Steve -- Avengers here, and who knows who these other people are. Sleepers meant to kill them all off? Bruce was already something of a sleeper for Loki.]

Hey, listen. Do you remember anything weird happening before you got here? Do you remember meeting anyone?

[Veronica thinks, then shakes her head.] Honestly? I thought I'd been drugged by someone. [Again.]

But this is a lot of effort for a class prank.

[Would the 09ers have tried, though? There are adults here, and those two people fighting look dangerous. And the 09ers know Veronica is dangerous.]

Or a mass kidnapping. Why? What are you thinking?

[She keeps an eye on the people fighting, leaning forward slightly, then back again.] And should we... I don't know. Do something about that? Throw a bucket of water? Or some dollar bills and catcalls?

... your class pranks involve drugging people? ... Were you in juvie?

[What with the tasers, maybe?

He's keeping an eye on the fighting over there too, but he isn't really sure what to do about it as both Clint and Natasha frighten him, and what's he going to do anyway? Get in the middle and be vaguely threatening? Is he going to bring the other guy to referee? Maybe he should get Steve...]

Nothing very good, but along the lines of a mass kidnapping, yeah. And, um. [He watches them, bringing a hand up to rub across the back of his neck.] Stay out of the way, for sure, and --

[Is that... Coulson?]

[Veronica grins, glancing at him before turning her attention back to the fight.] I go to school with a bunch of rich kids who get away with a bunch of stuff. [Or would, if Veronica and her dad weren't around.]

Oh, good. That guy's- Holy- [Her eyes widen.] Um. The geriatric has moves. Or... well. That guy. [She watches for a couple seconds more before speaking again.]

I'm not really a fan of mass kidnapping. I don't know why. It just- [Holy crap, who were these people? Were they trying to kill that guy? Without thinking, Veronica steps forward. She can work out something before they kill him, right?] I'd just rather go bowling in the arctic tundra wearing nothing but a wet bathing suit.

Yeah...

[Unfortunately Bruce misses the gem of the mass kidnapping joke, as he's now wondering what the hell is going on with Clint and Natasha and zombie Coulson.]

I'm going to head over there. I kind of know that guy. I went to his funeral. Um...

[He isn't comfortable just leaving some girl, not that he doesn't think she can't handle herself, just that he's a responsible adult and if something did happen -- well, something else -- he'd be responsible.]

You want to come with me? He seemed pretty nice when he was alive. Hopefully he doesn't have an insatiable hunger for brains now.
