This is Sharon Carter of SHIELD. Some of you may know me as Agent 13. I'm sorry to say that we're still here and didn't wake up in our own universes. I'm not sorry to say that we will find out what's going on and who's behind it, and we'll go after them with everything we've got.

An important part of getting out of here is to organize. Dr. Jones, Dr. Barrett, please let me know how the medical facilities are coming. Logan, I'd appreciate your help on another matter. If you're familiar with boating or hiking, I need you to get in touch ASAP, and that goes double with people who have any sort of enhanced abilities. If you're willing to defend people if the time should come, I want to know. If you aren't willing, I understand, and I won't make you, but I need to know so I can work out a plan. For that, I need to know who needs to be moved to a safe location. If any of you are inclined to panic, find me, and I'll help.

Furthermore, if any of you know of someone who could have done this to us, I want to know about it. I'll be keeping a list and trying to eliminate suspects so we can find who's to blame. I also need to know if anyone has seen very large gems or a glowing blue box lately.

I'm currently the Director of SHIELD while we're here. You can tell me or Agent Coulson.

[She hesitates. Inspiring people is not what she does. It's more Steve's area. But Steve - Steve as she knows him - isn't here. So what would Rogers do, Sharon?]

We'll get out of this. None of us are worth giving up on. Each of you is worth fighting for. You have my word.

[And then she cuts the feed quickly. Had that sounded cheesy? Somehow, Steve managed to talk like that and not sound cheesy. As for Sharon, she was better and spywork. She takes a breath. So find someone to spy on, Sharon.]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Agent Sharon Carter. I'm R. Daneel Olivaw. I don't have any knowledge about this sort of phenomenon and what would make it possible. However, I do possess greater strength and faster reflexes than a human. Would this be useful?

Thank you, Mr. Olivaw. Such things would certainly be useful, yes. What's your background, if I may? Since we're dealing with multiple universes, I'm trying to get a grasp of where everyone is from.

[Multiple universes? Is that the current theory? It makes... sense. Sort of. It explains things, at least.]

Of course. I'm a humaniform robot created by Dr. Han Fastolfe and Dr. Roj Nemennuh Sarton. I can be considered to be from Aurora, as they were, although I was on Earth shortly before arriving here. If the year is relevant, it was 3740 C.E.

When you say Aurora, do you mean Aurora, Colorado, or Aurora... Borealis?

[Right. Because by 3740, Aurora, Colorado should be a bustling metropolis.]

My apologies. I mean Aurora, the first settled of the Spacer worlds. More specially, Dr. Fastolfe's estate was near the city of Eos.

[Someone figured out how to lock his messages, and he locks this one right up.]

SHIELD, huh? You guys are everywhere.

I'll be helping out with the medical clinic too, by the way.

[He hesitates.] I'm Bruce Banner.

We try to use our omnipresence for good, Dr. Banner.

And thank you. Do you know how the medical clinic is coming so far? Only with little idea of why we're here, we have no idea of when something might happen. I'd also like SHIELD to coordinate with the clinic to insure it gets as many supplies as it needs, should any be missing. Have you decided who's in charge there yet?

We're still in the setting-up phase. If something does happen before we get established, you can use these wrist communicators as a medical alert, and someone should respond ASAP. We'll keep you updated.

[He frowns, rubbing his other hand against his neck.]

So, ah... Where do I stand with SHIELD at the moment? Are we... friends [ha, sure], or am I on a long leash, or probation, or what?

Where I'm from? You tend to be incommunicado unless Steve needs you for the Avengers. Last I heard, you were in South America with- [Sharon frowns.] I'm sorry. I'm- I have this theory that we're from different universes, and I don't know much about your universe. In mine, though, you spent much of your time in outer space. There's apparently a planet full of Hulks out there, so yeah. That's where you spent a lot of your time.

And by you, I mean our Bruce Banner, of course.

We're coordinating with a Doctor Banner now. Between the three of us, there should be at least enough medical know-how to cope with injuries.

Diseases might be a bit trickier. Especially considering the equipment we've managed to find so far.

Which is to say, precious little.

One person here had a theory that we're guinea pigs. I have to admit, if someone's going to practice bioterrorism, it feels like we're in the middle of a petry dish.

If you can get me a list of the equipment you'll need, I'll try and get it to you. Do you think you could compile a list of everyone here as well and get SHIELD a copy?

[She'd rather the medical clinic ask everyone to identify themselves rather than SHIELD. Not everyone took kindly to a government entity - a former government entity - knowing much about people on the ground.]

[Sharon nods.] Good. [And Coulson will get her a copy, because they've agreed that she's the top of the chain of command, and Coulson respected such things.]

Whatever you think is best. If I'm being honest, I don't really want to be Director of SHIELD. I've just had more experience with interdimensional travel than people from Coulson's world, and I've had the gig before. Any help you need, I'll do my best to provide it, but when it comes to the medical stuff, you make the calls.

You wanted to go get in touch with nature, or maybe some good ol' team building exercises, agent? [He raises an eyebrow at her, but it's fairly obvious that he's curious and more than willing to help her out.] The boating though... you'll have to find someone who isn't going to sink straight to the bottom if they go overboard. [One of his few fears and one of the very few things that could actually kill him, or so he suspects.]

I was hoping you'd take the land route, actually. Of all the people here, I think you'd have the best chance of surviving it if something's out there. [Had that been undiplomatic? Screw it, this was Logan. He was even less familiar with diplomacy than she was.]

I have to find someone who knows how to build a boat first. They wiped out the dock. I'm guessing there's a boat down there, too. Just not one we'd be able to use to find civilization.

If they've cut off escape routes by sea, I want you to see if you can find any by land. And you know as well as I do how likely it is they left us one. But if there is one, I want to know so we can get these people out of here.

Director of SHIELD, huh? [He surprised that SHIELD would even try to operate with such small numbers out here. Still, the effort is admirable. Now, if he could just figure out why the hell he's never heard of this woman until now.]

One hell of a pep talk you gave there. Sounds like you've been through tough situations like this before. Tell me, Carter, how come I've never met you until now? You're certainly an important woman, especially since you're already qualified to be Director of SHIELD.

[He waits a moment, a hesitant look on his face.] I feel like I've seen you somewhere before.

It's multiverse, Steve. Back home, I was briefly Director of SHIELD years ago, and Coulson thought my experiences might be beneficial. I've seen magic and mutants, and superheroes and supervillains are old hat at this point.

[At that, though, her expression goes slack. Whatever she'd done to piss off whatever entity put them here, Sharon is going to piss them off three times as much until they learn never to fuck with her like this again.] I thought we established earlier that we'd never met.

Multiverse? [That's a new one. Steve's not sure what Sharon means.] Well, can't say I'm not glad we've got someone with experience leading us.

[His expression is hard to read. The name Carter keeps making him think about Peggy. Could it be possible...? No, this woman is too young. A relative maybe? His curiosity is getting the better of him.]

One of the reasons Coulson stuck me with this position.

[Crap. He'd just had to, hadn't he? She didn't want to go through that, particularly now. "Oh, yeah, you used to bang my aunt during the War, and back home you and I were living together." No. Better to just preserve a professional relationship with him.]

I remember giving similar speeches to the masses. I remember the general outcome too...

The pharmacy is getting on as well as can be hoped. But then your Dr. Banner said he'd be the liaison between SHIELD and the medical unit.

[Sharon's eyebrows rise, and she looks almost amused.] I'm not a natural speech-giver, but it seems the concensus is that I'm a pretty cheesy speaker. I hope you got a good outcome when you did yours.

I've talked with Dr. Banner and Dr. Barrett. It seems you guys have everything coming together over there. I'm glad we've got so many doctors. [And worried about it, too. Why did whoever put them here think they needed so many doctors?]

I presume you'll mostly be working with the pharmacy, but are there any other skills you'd be willing to offer should they be needed? [The woman sounded calm enough under the circumstances that Sharon was curious what she'd been through. Or perhaps it was delayed shock.]

I just know what it's like trying to keep people's hopes up in a hopeless situation. I've also managed to defeat hopeless situations enough times to know there's always a way out even when no one else seems to think so.

As for other skills, I've already shared briefly with Agent Coulson. I have survival skills as well as a very basic military training.

[Sharon's grin widens at the mention of Coulson.] Yeah, I figured we'd trip over each other a little. We'll get everything straightened out in no time, though.

And experience in motivating people. Which I might blatantly use later.

If you're interested, I'm going to get some training exercises together to help people keep in shape. I can let you know once it gets off the ground. [Sharon could certainly use someone with survival skills, military training, and a medical background.]
