This is Sharon Carter of SHIELD. Some of you may know me as Agent 13. I'm sorry to say that we're still here and didn't wake up in our own universes. I'm not sorry to say that we will find out what's going on and who's behind it, and we'll go after them with everything we've got.

An important part of getting out of here is to organize. Dr. Jones, Dr. Barrett, please let me know how the medical facilities are coming. Logan, I'd appreciate your help on another matter. If you're familiar with boating or hiking, I need you to get in touch ASAP, and that goes double with people who have any sort of enhanced abilities. If you're willing to defend people if the time should come, I want to know. If you aren't willing, I understand, and I won't make you, but I need to know so I can work out a plan. For that, I need to know who needs to be moved to a safe location. If any of you are inclined to panic, find me, and I'll help.

Furthermore, if any of you know of someone who could have done this to us, I want to know about it. I'll be keeping a list and trying to eliminate suspects so we can find who's to blame. I also need to know if anyone has seen very large gems or a glowing blue box lately.

[She hesitates. Inspiring people is not what she does. It's more Steve's area. But Steve - Steve as she knows him - isn't here. So what would Rogers do, Sharon?]

[And then she cuts the feed quickly. Had that sounded cheesy? Somehow, Steve managed to talk like that and not sound cheesy. As for Sharon, she was better and spywork. She takes a breath. So find someone to spy on, Sharon.]

So, when you say you're Kindred, you mean you're a vampire.

But a friendly one, right?

I don't know if I'd say friendly. Depends on whether or not someone gets on nerves.

We're not all serial killers, you know. We're just as unique and varied as any other race.

[Sharon's lips twitch.] In my world, I'm afraid vampires are... very different. Not from each other, not really. The end-game is always killing people. Even the smart ones who don't have pointy ears but do have hair.

At least you're easier on the eyes than they are.

[And she'll just have to keep an eye on things. Except for being a vampire, Sharon has no reason to fight Barrett. And she isn't in a position to kill people who might be of use. For now, she'll do nothing.]

Killing people would be antithetical to survival. And I am a doctor. My aim is more geared towards preventing an untimely death.

[She sighs.]

But, admittedly, being a doctor has always been my second career. The first is...shall we say...putting down problematic vampires.

You're a vampire who hunts other vampires?

[She... can get behind that.]

What are the odds you'll lose control, though? If I'm in the least bit responsible for anyone here, I need to know.

As long as I remain healthy and well-fed? Slim to none.

Can you eat any food, or does it have to be blood?

[That is good news, though. Even if she needs human blood, they can work something out that doesn't mean letting people die. And her instincts tell her that Barrett isn't interested in that.]

Blood, I'm afraid. Although I do assure you, I have self control.

The average human being can stand to lose three pints without suffering much in the way of noticeable trouble.

Well. I've gotta say that so far, you're infinitely better than the vampires I'm used to. Think you'll have any trouble getting blood? [Meaning, will she have to take any from people who aren't willing to give it?]

[Mina sighs at that.]

There don't appear to be any blood banks. Which means I'm going to require volunteers.

[Sharon purses her lips.] I'll ask around. If nothing else... maybe we'll try a trial run. But that's a last resort.

[She smiles thinly.]

It's pleasant, you know.

[Pleasant having her blood drained out of her. Right.]

If something happens, I want to be at the top of my game. I'm not sure how getting drunk from will affect me. I don't have superpowers. I have to make up for it with speed and planning. Blood loss affects both of those.

Understandable. If we can find enough volunteers, it won't be an issue. One pint from three people works just as well for me as three pints from one person. And it's better for everyone else involved.

[She pauses.]

It's very much against the nature of Kindred to share this sort of information with others. But necessity is pressing. If we're going to survive, all of us survive, it's going to require this leap of faith that I'm taking, Carter.

[Sharon nods before growing thoughtful.] Where I'm from, it's best to kill vampires on sight. Not everyone will think of how useful you might be in the field. You can count on my discretion.

[Until Sharon finds a body with puncture wounds or sees a spike in the vamp population correlating with a decrease in the human population. But she thinks they both understand what will happen then.]

[Mina nods slightly as well. She respects Carter.]

For what it's worth, I don't know if there are others here or not. I can generally identify them on sight. Over the network is...trickier.

As your a vampire hunter of sorts, I'll leave that up to you. I won't insult you by asking that you tell me unless you feel you have to. If I spot any that I know, I'll give you a heads up.

If you're on the lookout for vampires, could you also keep an eye for some gems? They'd be fairly large and polished. There's also a gold gauntlet. And a glowing blue box. I doubt any of them are here, but if we have those, we might be able to get home.

I haven't seen anything like that, but I do have a penchant for shiny things.

I'll keep my eyes open.

[Sharon's lips twist into a smile.] I'm sure you'll think of something sooner or later. And when you do, you know where to find me.
