Has anyone started catalogueing the wildlife around here? I mean--beyond robot bears. Natural wildlife: deer, rabbits, regular bears--uh, birds? Owls, maybe?

There are squirrels. ... There were a bunch of dire wolves and sabre-tooth cats, but I'm not sure how many any are left. Oh, and rabbits.

Can't say I've really paid all that much attention to nature to be honest. I suppose I should.

Sheesh. That sounds like a formidable species. Any markings that I should be aware of? Something for easy ID?

White lab coats. Our town's most elusive species, it is often seen only in blurry flashes over left-on video messages, despite how they are, conceivably, in and out of the village.

You get double points if you put a sticker on their backs saying "Kick me."

It's not that simple. The wildlife here isn't specific to any one region. There are species here that should be extinct. The vegetation, for the most part, seems native to the east coast, but I'm not even sure we're really in Maine.

The food is dwindling and hunting comes easily to me, so I'd rather leave the pre-packaged food to the others.

[The fact is, even if anyone he asks tells him that there's nothing stalking them from the air, he's still hearing wings. Big wings, loud beats of wind, and scrabbling along the rooftops and in the walls. Tim spends his day on the town, continuing to familiarize himself with the place, but as the sun creeps farther across the sky, he starts see shadows to accompany all the noise. Fast, darting things between rooftops, spots on the ground.

[He doesn't feel the need to go home, necessarily, but he wouldn't recommend anyone else staying out.

[Matter of fact, by the time he sees young Jesse Finch making his sweet way down the street, Tim is reasonably sure that it's actually dangerous for your average civilian to be out in plain sight. Admittedly, if what he's heard can be depended upon, this guy might be more than he seems. Still, if he doesn't notice a huge looming Threat By Air, he's probably just...average civilian.

[Being a good citizen, Tim is quick to grab Jesse's arm as he passes. Firm, calm, no nonsense:] Don't panic, but you have to get inside. [In fact, he'll start pulling you into the library. It's fine. Don't ask, only dreams.]

[ He's not even sure entirely what it is that's bothering him, but it sure is something. It's just this itchy feeling, like there's something under his skin, like something is wrong, and he can't pinpoint what it is. Usually, he'd nap this sort of feeling off, but for whatever reason, he just - can't trust his dreams right now. He'll probably have nightmares, he thinks.

Jesse tries for a walk instead, hands in his pockets - and that's when some dude grabs his arm and walks off with him.

That is a no-no, and Jesse lets out a very loud protesting sort of noise and jerks as roughly as possible away from Tim, no touchie. But they still get pretty close to the library, like... in the door, and in fact, it riles him up. Jesse scowls, wishing he had his pipe; he settles for his fists. ] Oi - don't touch, what the fuck?

It's alright. [He's talking too lowly, you have to listen, just listen. He's young and he's thin, but Tim is strong and used to subduing the frantic, so please don't waste your time fighting this. He keeps his voice low and his touch as non-threatening as possible, but if Jesse doesn't stop, he'll have to go against the wall.] It's alright, you need to be quiet, it's watching. Listen to me. Listen, just hold still till it's gone.

[ Audio - Private ]

[ Shortly after this. The voice is hushed and shaky.]
