[When the video comes on, Bruce looks down into the feed, then away again, pressing his lips together before he's back, strength renewed.]

My memory of the last few days isn't... so good, but I'm pretty sure that I, ah... may have attacked some of you.

[He's still sore where someone burned him, and though he remembers the pain and the heat, he has no recollection of who was hurting him. No face other than that of what must've been a hallucination because that -- he -- he's dead.

And anyway his hands weren't made of fire.]

I'd like to apologize for that. I'm not really a violent person... when I'm not on crazy hallucinogens. No LSD for me, I guess.

[He smiles weakly and then nods at the communicator.]

If any of you need medical attention, I'm back up to speed and will be in the clinic not having split-personality-esque arguments with myself. Sherlock and I will look into -- uh, not that I've asked him since we regained our sanity. Well, anyone want to help look into what these drugs were? Crazy!Sherlock and myself tossed around the idea of taking some blood samples. If you have more ideas or want to help out, that'd be great.

Last time I talked to her, I was trying to be nice and she threatened to break my face on the table, so I think I'll just keep on keepin' on.

[ He studies Bruce for a moment. ]

You got theories?

Sounds fair. She hasn't threatened me, but then she probably knows better.

[He shrugs, picking at the grass.] Nothing very specific or pleasant. I'm pretty convinced we're being experimented on for some reason or another. There's a disproportionate amount of people here who are... people plus. I don't know everyone, but it seems like a lot of people I talk to have stories, or powers.

[ Yeah, Kobra wouldn't fuck with Bruce, either, but then why would he want to? Bruce is cool and he has Lydia's back and that's not something Kobra would disregard lightly even if he didn't think Bruce was cool in his own right. ]

Well I don't got any powers other than my pure animal magnetism, which your green monster thing apparently gives your immunity towards.

[The sad thing is that Bruce isn't really much of a fighter. He doesn't like violence, and the flashes of memories he gets from when he was attacking people -- they deeply unsettle him. It's just that, well, if they attack him hard enough, it's not like he can really hold the other guy off.]

No, but you've been exposed to massive amounts of radiation and whatever drugs were used on you to improve your eyesight and keep you hopped on drugs for a while. That's not exactly your average life situation, looking at the grand scheme of history.

Besides, they have to have some control subjects.

[ Kobra laughs. ]

Maybe not where you're from, but where I'm from, I'm the freak for fighting it.

[ He lies back down. ]

If we get outa here, I wanna go home with someone else. [ Lydia. He means Lydia and he doesn't want to examine what that means. He'd take his Killjoys with him, too. ]

But that's what I mean. Where I come from that isn't normal at all.

[He watches Kobra lay back down, and then somehow, after everything they've talked about, that small little confession hurts the worst.]

That isn't unreasonable. I've spent six years more or less squatting in abandoned shacks, and I think that sounds like an improvement over where you're from.

[ Kobra wraps his arms around his middle. It's an oddly insecure gesture for him. ]

I tried to pretend, but I know we're not safe here. I don't care, long as I can keep the people who matter safe, but I can't even do that. What if it's Jet or Ghoul or Lyds next?

[What if it's Lydia, or Tony, or Kobra?]

That, I don't know. This place is good at making you feel powerless. Ironically, considering some of who's here.

That's what prisons do, I suppose.

[ He'll get no argument from Kobra. ]

Kinda makes me just wanna blow shit up and see what they do.

[Bruce starts to smirk, then stops and really thinks about it before he looks at Kobra, really looks at him.]

That's crazy, not to mention dangerous. Aren't we surrounded by enough danger? Kobra...

[He makes it sound convincing, and he looks especially concerned and disapproving as he lays down next to him, but his tone is completely different when he murmurs low and quiet near Kobra's ear.]

You know, you're not the first person who said that to me. If they're experimenting on us, they must have some kind of investment in us, right?

You're encouraging me to blow shit up?

[ He grins. This is new and unexpected. ]

I know I liked you for a reason.

Combining your enthusiasm, Tony's and my chemical knowledge, and maybe the powers of someone who can make sure the fire stays contained -- yes.

[He smiles, a little indulgently. It's maybe not good that even while not on paranoia-inducing drugs, this idea doesn't seem half bad.]

But it does make you wonder what they'd do if their forest burnt up.

Contained? Suddenly sounding incredibly boring.

[ What the fuck is a contained fire and why would Kobra want one? Blow shit up! He wants it all to burn, baby. ]

Would it be boring if the buildings in town started burning down? If they were interested in our welfare, they'd feed us and not dose us with drugs. I'd rather burn their stuff down and let them deal with it then have to share my house with half the town because the other half of town's been burnt to a crisp.

[ Kobra sighs. Yeah, yeah, so Bruce kinda makes sense. ]

Fine, yeah, but for the record, you guys are all fuckin' spoiled.

Noted. [He relaxes for a minute, rolling back onto his back, then he turns his head back to Kobra.]

Do the hallucinogens and poisoned fake-presents make up for it?

[ He scoffs. ]

No. That's like a normal Monday, right?

[ Well, now he's just faking it. ]
