the Doctor | 002 | Day 40 | Video
[His hair is disheveled, evidence of hours of hands running through and tugging at strands, as he leans back in a desk with feet propped up.]
Right, so... Any conclusions on that earthquake? How trustworthy is this Maria? It doesn't seem very bright to plot an escape when 'they' are monitoring our every move.
And these hallucinations? Glad to know I'm not going to be thrown in a loony bin yet.
[[LOCKED FROM DONNA NOBLE]]
[He rubs at his eyelid, perhaps a nervous habit of his, before pulling his feet in and sitting up straight, looking dead into the camera.]
I know I'm not the only one different out of this lot, and I need help. 1. For the few that have talked to me and know of Donna Noble, don't refer to me as 'Doctor' around her, this is extremely vital. I'm John Smith to her. 2. I can explain why this is, [He licks his lips and narrows his eyes for a moment, clearing searching for the correct wording.] but it's all rather complicated. C.. No wait, was I using letters? 3. Backing up to my statement of differences, anyone have experience in telekinesis or for lack of better terms, probing one's mind?
The technology is rubbish here and for what I'm needing to accomplish would take me a very, very long time and it might be too late then.

So... something electrical? Or body mortification? [It was a wild guess.]
Video
... Up for a walk, The Doctor?
Video
You name the place, and I'm there!
Video
The edge of the woods, fifteen minutes? Bring a couple of bottles or whatever to use as targets.
Video
Hello! Will this do?
[He could tell it was a bit chilly out, but it didn't bother him as much as he expected it to for her.]
Action-y
However, she did find a flannel shirt, a coat and very ugly blue and green scarf. She grins and bounces on her toes, flexing her hands.]
Dude, those'll be cool. Find a place to set them up. I haven't done target practice in a week or so. Let's hope I'm not totally rusty.
no subject
Will this do, or will they need to be more spread apart?
[He was still rather confused (but no short of absolutely fascinated) as to what he would be witnessing.]
no subject
Nah, leave 'em together. See if my accuracy is any good.
[Her hands flex again.]
So! Back in my world, there's a genetic component to some folks. Gives us powers. It's called the X-Gene. Now, the thing is, the powers usually show up right around puberty. Stress, hormones, whatever, and whammo, there ya are with powers.
I know of a couple who were born with pretty heavy physical mutations, but they're like the only two mutants born with active powers that I've heard of.
[She flings out a hand and bright light globules race through the air. Pink, yellow, green, blue spark and pop in the air. One slams into the right hand bottle, shattering it. The force of the explosion knocks over the other bottle, sending it rolling off the stump to crack against the ground.]
Nuts. I missed.
no subject
Oh brilliant! That's... Really really fantastic! How did you know you could do that?
no subject
I was eleven. My friend and I were roller blading through the mall. The cops took exception to it. My friend managed to get away, but I got caught. There was construction or something. I got cornered by the mall cops. They didn't see me, and then, suddenly...
[The colors erupt into the air, hissing and cracking like fireworks. They don't hit anything, but merely crack in the air.]
They were blinded and I got away.
[She shrugs.]
no subject
[He moves to the bottles to inspect the damage before fixing the still whole one to the stump before looking back towards her.]
no subject
I can make them brighter, change the colors, change the brightness, make them louder, or I can make one hover over my shoulder to give me a bit of light. I can reabsorb them into my body.
[She looks at the bottles.]
I detonate matter on a subatomic level. I'm a walking atom bomb.
no subject
[Obviously the Doctor was far too fascinated over this.] So you're able to keep it in check, or is there times where you can't control it...?
[Without asking he made his way over to her and took her hands in his, inspecting them, despite her wearing the gloves.] Blisters or burn marks?
no subject
I can keep it in check. It used to be that most electrical equipment wasn't safe around me when I was crabby. Even now, I can pop off if it's bad. My temper's short.
[She pulls off the gloves, revealing the fingerless gloves underneath. She's hiding scars.]
The first time my powers erupted, I could feel them for days. Now, if I overuse them, or don't use them enough, I can feel them kinda popping under my skin. Like, when your hand falls asleep and then starts waking up? Like that.
no subject
[Don't mind him, he tended to have these manic tendencies, as his eyes grew wide and he excitedly paced around, tugging at the strands of his hair.] No, no this is fantastic!
With your help, I can perhaps manipulate the rubbish in the kitchens. To help build things. The joules they make are worthless, but maybe with a boost... Oh, maybe something can be made out of it.
no subject
[She takes a step back, stuffing her hands into her pockets. She doesn't like them on display. Not since... well, she doesn't like them on display.]
Detonation on the molecular level? I'm not an energy source.
no subject
[He stops pacing, looking up as his tongue poked at the corner of his mouth, clearly lost in thought.]
I know you're not an energy source, but what you provide is a higher rate than those bits combined, perhaps with added boost... [And he sort of retreats in his own world for a moment.]
Ah, nothing definite now, just hypothesizes...
no subject
Something that seems like a lark has suddenly taken on a far more ominous tone.]
I'm not a science experiment either.
[The words are almost growled. Where's Logan?]
no subject
I'm so sorry. [He ruffles his hair before taking a step over to her, looking more sympathetic and holding his arm up in defense.]
no subject
[Sinister, Apocalypse, Brawn... Logan, she's used to bastards.]
Okay, we're gonna try something new. You're going to use small words and no math, and actually explain what you're talking about.
And I'll hold onto my temper and my prejudices against certain scientists.
no subject
Like you, I'm different. Although, unlike you, I'm not human; humans look like me. I'm a Time Lord.
I've somehow managed to escape here before, but I don't know how or why, but I'd like to find out what's going on.
no subject
Okay. And how do my powers figure into that?
[She tugs the gloves back on, over the fingerless pair.]
no subject
There's some other things I want to look into as well. I'm working with limited tools, so... [He shrugs.]
I didn't mean it to sound like I'd be using you. I'm not like that, really.
no subject
[Eyeroll. Not even her first experience with scientists.]
But how do my powers come into play? I mean, sure, nuclear power, sorta, but not so much with the time keeping, or the doing much except, ya know, blowing stuff up.
no subject
[And then he realizes she said something]
I have some ideas, but I'll need to develop things out a little more. I just got excited for a moment, knowing I can perhaps do something.
