Annie Edison | Video | 001
[The video swings wildly up and down. Have some sky. Now some ballet flats. A flash of plaid and then sky again.]
Guys?
[The video stills as Annie peers at the device on her wrist.]
Is this an Inspector Space Time thing? Remember what I said about warning me when we were pretending outside of the Dreamatorium? I need advance notice. I have a test, I can't... [She rolls her eyes, realizing that if they've gone to this much trouble, it's inescapable.]
[She sighs, pursing her lips before taking a deep breath and talking animatedly, her eyes wide.]
Oi, Goven'r, this is Constable Geneva on Cape Kore requiring immediate extraction. Blimey, there are blorgons everywhere! [She glances around, her face falling momentarily.] And a test worth 25% of my grade on the morn! Hurry, Inspector! Constable Reggie!
[She pauses, furrowing her brow.] Anyone?

No!
No, it is so much worse! We've been kidnapped. And the Dean doesn't arrive, even if you say his name in front of a mirror three times while turning around.
[Er...]
Not that I tried it.
no subject
[Annie's mouth falls open.]
Kidnapped? What do you mean we've been kidnapped? Where are we? Where are you? Have you contacted the authorities? How did we even get here?
[She pauses, her eyes narrowing.]
Wait a minute. Are you... [She lowers her voice.] High? [She blinks, looking confused.] Am I?
[That was possible, wasn't it? A contact high? Had she eaten any of Britta's baked goods? No. She was sure of it. Not since those terrible cookies that one time. And those hadn't even had pot in them, just too much baking soda.]
no subject
I mean, I don't think so. Someone mentioned a gas, but- [Britta shakes her hand and waves her arms. Enough of such thoughts! They're for squares!] But no, we aren't high, because trips are almost never this boring. Trust me, I'd know.
[Probably not the best thing to say to prove her case.]
We got kidnapped, Annie. Troy got kidnapped, too!
no subject
Who would kidnap us and Troy? What do they want?
[Okay, panic is beginning to turn into anger. She has thing to do. She doesn't have time for a kidnapping. She tries to pull herself together.]
Okay, first things first. We need to find each other. Where are you?
no subject
Um. I'm... at the library? [Or the church. What? Just because she wasn't religious didn't mean she couldn't check out the church.]
Where are you? I'll come get you.
no subject
Huh.
Her eyes widen a little at the mention of the library. Oh thank God. At least they're not total heathens here.]
There's a fountain? For a prison camp, this place looks nice.
no subject
Don't you get it, Annie? Don't you? This place isn't nice! We're trapped here!
[This is so much scarier than anything Britta has ever done.]
no subject
I get it, Britta. I just... don't want to think too hard about the fact that we've been kidnapped to a place run by scientists and where dead bodies show up randomly because I might scream.
[She takes a deep breath to make up for the single one she expanded while saying that sentence, though the want to scream is definitely building inside of her.]
So I'm at the fountain, which I maintain still looks nice, even if we're all going to die here.
no subject
[Right after she remembers where she is. But no, she is not going to ask for directions, because she isn't reliant on anybody and she can do this. And... And- Um. Uh... Where... is she?]
[As such, it takes her several seconds to realize she's right down the street from the fountain and heads over, throwing her arms open and running forward once she sees Annie.]
Annie!
no subject
Britta!
[She squeezes her tight before pulling back. She feels a lot better not being alone. Already, with Britta here, she's feeling braver.]
I can't believe this is happening.
no subject
[But she still has to look around, because City College is every bit as insane as Greendale, and there's no way to know for sure.]
Where are you staying? Because - not that I think we have to stay together, because we're both strong and independent women - but maybe we should work on finding a place where we can be close enough to keep an eye on each other? Not that I'm worried for me, since I lived in New York. And you lived in that really bad neighborhood. But you know. Like having a part of the study group again! Home, you know?
[She lightly punches Annie in the arm.] Because I can't leave my sister out in the cold!
no subject
She looks back up at Britta when she asks where she's staying. She opens her mouth to latch onto this idea when Britta has to go and mention New York. Again.]
Ow.
[She rubs her shoulder where Britta punched it.] I definitely think that we should stick together. One of the men who was talking to me [And that sentence was weird in itself.] said if I didn't have a key, I could go anywhere. Do you have a place?
no subject
no subject
[Because the last thing she wants to do is be on her own in this place.] That sounds perfect! Maybe Troy has a place and we can all live together.
no subject
[Impulsively, she hugs Annie again.] I know it's bad, but if I had to be stuck here with anybody, I'm glad it's you guys.
no subject
[Annie gives Britta a real smile and reaches out to squeeze her shoulder.]
Maybe Jeff, Abed and Shirley will show up soon.
