Oh, uh...
[Hello, Kore. Amidst the influx of new arrivals is Chuck. He's got short, curly brown hair and a beard. He also looks incredibly baffled as he squints down at the communicator on his wrist. He's outside, and his free hand is shielding his eyes from the sun. He doesn't appear to be someone who's used to being outside very often. Or like, at all.
He seems to be surprised that he's gotten the communicator working. He also seems confused as to who, exactly, he's talking to. But that doesn't stop him from stuttering on anyways.]
Sorry, I--I'm not exactly sure I know exactly were I am? Well, I mean... Cape Kore, obviously, but, uh... I mean, I was just in Ohio.
[He's smart enough that he knows that wherever Cape Kore is, it's certainly not in Ohio. He looks a little lost and confused for a second before a thought occurs to him.]
Was it---is this the angels? They did this, didn't they? They're the only ones who could do this, right? [And yet, even that didn't add up because,] I thought the Apocalypse was over!
[Chuck drags a hand down his face. He's not a Winchester. This isn't a life he's suited for. He's just a writer.]

[ Last Castiel knew, Chuck had to be dead if Kevin was the prophet, so it's certainly a surprise, though it would have been a bigger one if there hadn't been others first. ]
You didn't see this place?
[ It might be a joke or it might just be an honest question. ]
[ Video - Private ]
[Oh good. He was beginning to think that everyone he knew in this world were only angels and demons that he'd seen in his visions. He's sincerely glad that Castiel is here--it makes him feel a little better about Lucifer being here as well.]
What? No. [He shakes his head.] No, I didn't see this. The last thing I saw was... Sam jumping into the Cage.
[ Video - Private ]
[ This is more complicated and annoying than normal time travel. ]
[ Video - Private ]
[He's never... not known something before. Even when he absconded from Heaven, he still kept tabs on them, talking to and receiving information from Joshua. He could know the future, but he has decided not to. As thus, this is really the first time he's ever truly been out of the loop, and not known what was going on.
He's not sure he enjoys it.]
Wait, Dean's here? [That's even better news. He feels better knowing he's not the only
sort ofhuman from his world.][ Video - Private ]
[ Castiel can't even remember leaving Purgatory. ]
[ Video - Private ]
Time travel and amnesia? [Great. Wonderful. Fantastic.] This place certainly seems... inviting.
[ Video - Private ]
[ He pauses. ]
You missed everyone hallucinating.
[ Video - Private ]
You're, uh... certainly the bearer of good news.
[ Video - Private ]
[ He doesn't like to, but if it's what Chuck prefers... He would think that Chuck would be used to knowing everything by now. ]
[ Video - Private ]
No, no, don't lie, it's just... I mean, I thought with the Apocalypse over things would be... you know. Easier.
[ Video - Private ]
[ He shakes his head. ]
We were naive to think that no one would try to start it again.
[ Video - Private ]
[It seems like he missed out a lot just by arriving here. He's been told so many new things ever since he arrived.]
Someone started the Apocalypse? ...again?
[ Video - Private ]
[ He can't take credit when he only made it worse. ]
[ Video - Private ]
Oh. They, uh... They seem pretty good at that. Stopping the end of the world.
[ Video - Private ]
[ There's a smile that just hits his eyes. ]
[ Video - Private ]
I think you might be right.
[ Video - Private ]
[ Well, in some ways. In others, they've all but fallen apart and Castiel's had a front row seat to it, but Chuck doesn't need to know that just like he doesn't need to know about Castiel's mistakes. It's nice to have one person who still thinks of him the way he was, even if it's a lie. ]
[ Video - Private ]
[And while he might not have realized it was all true and real and happening for the majority of them, it didn't make everything they'd been through any less hard and real. Dean and Sam had changed a lot over the five years, and he couldn't be more proud of them.]
I mean. [He gives a little laugh.] It's more than I could do.
[ Video - Private ]
[ He knows that Chuck is somewhat anxious, maybe even neurotic, but it's clear to him that Chuck is a good person and he doesn't think that Chuck would choose inaction over doing the right thing. ]
[ Video - Private ]
But even Chuck himself has helped out in the few instances he's been able. Nothing particularly heroic or life saving or anything, but he certainly tries when he can.]
Oh, no, I, uh... I really don't think I'm capable of much. I mean, I can barely write.
[No matter what Castiel or anyone else says, Chuck still doesn't believe the whole Winchester gospel, Supernatural books are going to be as famous as the Bible, crap. Not until it happens, at least.]
[ Video - Private ]
[ Castiel can't help smiling a little. ]
But you know that's not what I mean. I think you would do the right thing, if given the choice. You've done nothing to imply that you wouldn't and He chose you for a reason.
[ Video - Private ]
Yeah, I guess. [That still doesn't mean he thinks he's Bible famous.]
Uh... thank you.
[That's a good bit of faith that Castiel is putting in Chuck the prophet. Chuck, who has never fought a monster to save his life, who sits in his house, gets drunk, and then does nothing but write. And it's... really kind of nice, actually.]
[ Video - Private ]
[ Castiel has seen how circumstances can change a man. Sam and Dean were pulled into things that were beyond their control and so was Chuck, even if he was less in the line of fire. ]
If you need help with anything, let me know.
[ Video - Private ]
If you say so.
[He nods.]
I will. Thank you, Castiel.
