[ Alec’s life is far from normal. His first reaction to the new place is that he’s been transported to a demon dimension. The way his life has been going, he wouldn’t be surprised. His hand hovers the hilt of a seraph blade and as he stares down the video with bright blue eyes.]

I don’t know who brought me here. If your sole intention was to kill me, come and find me.

[He was a Shadowhunter, he would rather die in battle than be hunted down like an animal.]

Otherwise, can someone explain why we have been kidnapped? What do they need us for?

Though the circumstances are rather unfortunate, it's nice to meet you, Alec. I'm Samandriel.

[Another friendly smile is offered, though it's small. It's tough to manage a full one when greeting someone to a place with little to no possibility of escape, after all. Of course, the expression is then quick to fall back into something apologetic as he goes on to give the information he has on the captors. Which is none.]

...Unfortunately no, I don't know who they are. I don't believe anyone does-- I've not been here long myself, but even those who have been here the longest... don't sound as though they've even seen our captors. From what I've heard, at least. You may do better to ask around, but... I don't believe anyone knows anything about them.

[Alec's blue eyes widen at the name.]

That is the name of an angel in my world.

[And he had wielded a seraph blade in the name of Samandriel before. It is an odd moment.]

[...Well this just got a little more interesting. And slightly awkward. Most people don't recognize the name, he usually just has to make some excuse for it being an odd name and leave it at that, but this... This is a little more complicated.]

...Yes, it--...It is. [A slight nod is given, and he debates quickly whether to actually out himself as an angel or not. ...Though it's likely too late to decide to not.] You'll have to forgive my surprise, it's simply that...most don't realize such a thing.

Mundanes don't notice. [Alec looks briefly like he doesn't know which way is up.

How does one address an angel? He should have been more respectful from the start. He doesn't need the wrath of heaven coming down on him.]

But since I fight in the names of angels, I do notice.

[Well now, that catches his interest. Alec is right of course, though mundane is a term he's not heard used before, and it leaves him curious as to what exactly that makes Alec himself, if not a so-called mundane. But really, it's that last bit that has Samandriel quite curious.]

You fight in the name of angels? There aren't many around anymore who still do that. What is it that you fight, exactly?
