I've had a thought, Kore--because I do that, occasionally, when I'm not too busy drinking. We've had a lot of new arrivals turn up injured lately, and also a number of re-arrivals with nasty wounds. What about a few of us volunteering as a quick-response group for these occasions? A welcoming committee for the bruised and bleeding, as it were.

I don't know whether the infirmary is equipped for overnight stays, so someone will have to inform me. I'm afraid to go look. If not, maybe some sort of temporary shelter would be appropriate, as well.

...

...And on a completely unrelated note, could the person who's been painting murals of birds around town pretty please come forward? I want to shake your hand.

[ Jesse pretty much adores it when people seem to like his work, so he's grinning right back. ] Nah, no professional, just something I did for fun. Stress relief. [ He rubs at the back of his neck. ] I missed doing it, so. There it is.

[Balthazar is visibly enthusiastic over two things: art, and liquor.] It's brilliant. I'd invite you to come do a wall of my place, but I'm not sure what my housemates would say.

Do you draw, or paint on a smaller scale, too? I owned a gallery back home. Very briefly, but I miss it.

[ Wow, that - makes him really happy, actually. He's a little sheepish. ] I mean - I'd do it, if y'wanted. I don't got a lotta useful things t'do here, so. If yer housemates don't mind I would.

And, I, uh. I draw, mostly, on a small scale, yeah? Paint sometimes too but I like t'have a bigger canvas for that. [ A beat. ] Gallery, huh?

Maybe I'll ask them, then. I doubt Loki will care, but I'm not sure about Anna and Chuck.

I'd love to see your drawings some time. I've tried sketches here and there, but I simply don't have the knack. I'm a better audience than I am an artist, but perhaps that's all to the best.

And...yes, a gallery. Just a small building outside Chicago, but I had fun with it.

Yeah - yeah, alright. I got a few sketchbooks here. [ He grins. ] Never woulda pegged you as an art dude, I guess. There's about a hundred guys who hate anything havin' t'do with art for every one that loves it. M'surprised so many people liked them. Probably woulda gotten arrested back home.

Well, if you had gone around scrawling giant penises all over everything, I might be less enthusiastic, but what you did paint is genuinely lovely.

I knew an artist before. Early 20th century. If I had never gotten to watch him at work, I might not be as interested. But building and creating and beautifying are always worth encouraging, I think.

Ay, I dunno, there's some artists who can do amazing shit with penis scupltures. [ Is he joking? Probably. ]

I'll keep that in mind! Perhaps we can make some changes to the fountain. [...Well!]

Oh. This is going to be a long conversation. Technically, I'm from the early 21st century, but there are unusual circumstances.
