[ Here's a face that may not be familiar to many of those who are new. He looks weary, but that's mostly just the way his face looks. He also maybe looks just the slightest bit irritated, in the way that a man trying his hardest to look patient always does. ]

It has come to my attention that not many of you know who I am. I'd like to properly introduce myself to the cape at large, for all those who are newcomers here.

My name is Edgar Stane, and I have taken up a leadership position here in the cape. I admit that I have been quiet these past few weeks, and for that I would like to apologize. I mean to have a more noticeable presence in the near future. That said and done, I have a few things that I'd like to say to you all.

Our current situation with food has been in dire straits for a while now. Since the formation of the committees, we've been doing marginally better in food storage, but it is an ongoing process. I have been working with the leaders of the committees in charge of food production to make sure that everybody gets their fair share of food. If you do not feel as though you are getting an equal share, please do come talk to me. I will do my best to resolve any problem brought to me.

Secondly, I've found what appears to be... some sort of documentation. What I've managed to make out could be important information regarding how we've all come to be here, and why we can't leave. If you are interested, again, come talk to me in person. I've taken residence in the Town Hall.

[ He gives a huge sigh. ] And lastly, I've heard rumors of people in our community who have deemed it appropriate to keep the wild animals from the forest as pets. I'd like to take this moment to remind you all what happened the last time those of our numbers attempted this, and ask you to remember the unfortunate and awful deaths that resulted from it. These are and always will be wild animals, and I urge you all to keep that in mind.

[Fortescue is suspicious of any and all authority, but she puts that aside to give a friendly and somewhat business-like smile.]

Where did you find this documentation? Or if you'd like to discuss even that in person, I can be there whenever is most convenient for you.

[ He smiles right back, in that sort of world-weary way. ] I'd prefer to discuss it in person, if you wouldn't mind. Not only is it a personal preference, but it is much easier to talk without being recorded.

[She's been itching for information for weeks, now. But it's his information, and she'll play by his rules. She might even walk the mundane way, without magic through the shadows, to give him actual time before her arrival.]

Of course. The building is always open to anybody.

[ He'll be waiting for her when she arrives, however the way she chooses to. He's at his desk toward the end of the hall, sorting through a handful of notes in his handwriting. ]

[Fortescue arrives without her coat, due to the warmth, Jazz trailing along closely behind her as they enter the building. She still has her pleasant, business-like smile on her face as she approaches Edgar's desk.]

Does it get drafty in here?

[ He gives her a smile when he sees her, standing up to greet her properly, folder in his hand. He gives a little bow of his head. ]

At times, yes. I muddle through. It's a pleasure to meet you in person.

Likewise. I'm Fortescue, by the way, and the cat is Jazz.

[She often forgets to introduce herself. Before coming here, it wasn't an option. Or she'd had to use a fake name. Jazz approaches the desk and sniffs around the bottom edge, tail wagging pensively behind him.]

Taking a position of authority around here seems like it would keep you quite busy.

Fortescue. And Jazz. [ He watches Jazz sniff at the desk for a moment, and then smiles slightly. ]

It is a lot to handle, yes, but I've done so for a quite a while now. I can't say all the credit belongs to me. Dean Winchester is an excellent help.

He does like to take charge of a situation.

[And because she doesn't know Edgar that well, there's no euphemism to be found in that statement.]
