In case you hadn't noticed, there are very large wolves roaming around outside. Wolves that are supposed to be extinct. They hunt in packs and are extremely dangerous. Unless you're a suicidal bonehead with an incredibly idiotic death wish, I recommend staying inside and in groups. Do not try to fight them.
[She sighs, rolling her eyes.] Yes, Kobra, that last part was primarily directed at you. [Idiot.]
As for the stone cube, Dr. Banner and I have been examining the star map etched into the sides and come up with a lot of nothing. We know the map does not reflect our solar system or any of our constellations and is therefore not from our galaxy. We also know the writing carved into it is in Old Norse and holds no real meaning. As for the indentations and the tree... I had a theory on that, but the book I was looking for is missing.
If anyone else has something they'd like to contribute, please contact either Dr. Banner or myself. Thank you.

[ A pause. ]
Got the answer before you, kitten. I seem to be off to a better start than most.

[Yes ... he did get the answer before her. Before Bruce, as well! But how.]
You have it, don't you?

[ Dean's brow quirks up. ]
Have what?

Don't play with me, Dean. The book. The text on mythology. We need that to solve the riddle. And unless you want me to feed you to the animals outside, you'll give that book to Bruce and let us figure this out finally. You sure as hell won't be able to do it on your own. We're wasting time. There could be something inside of it. Possibly a way home. And I, for one, don't want to be stuck here any longer than absoloutely necessary. Got it?

[ Dean's demeanor changes to a far more dark one. ]
If there is a way back "home", I'm sure as hell keeping the book as far out of your reach as possible, you got this Lydia? I'm curious about it as much as you are. No question. But if it's a way back to that place then I'd rather take my chances with Big Brother and whatever extinct creatures are outside my door right now. You want to go ahead and threaten me? Do it. Whatever you got to say isn't as bad as what I can do, princess. You'd make for a better cholesterol free meal to the dire wolves.

I really don't think the wolves are worried about watching their weight. As for getting home, what right do you have to keep that from people? Just because wherever you came from is horrible, and probably well-deserved, does not give you the right to trap everyone else here. We have lives to get back to. Families. Boyfriends. You're not god. You don't get to make those kinds of decisions.
Keeping a chance at going home is impossibly selfish and downright despicable, but fine. Keep the book. We'll probably figure it out anyway. And if we don't, I'll just have to explain to everyone how it's all your fault.
[Her voices gets dangerously low, but the smile stays in place.]
Do you know what it feels like to have everyone turn on you, Dean? Keep that book and you will.

Somehow I think they should be. They died for a reason, all bad carbs. No good ones. I hear red-heads taste mighty good from qualified sources. I can't say I would care if someone were to go "missing", like the others did. I have no idea what hardships you're going through now that you're here, kiddo. But this place is fucking Pleasantville. I'm not reserving the right to hold this over peoples heads and keep 'em here. How the Hell do you know it's a way home and not some A-Bomb. Or something else. [ Also god is a douchebag and you should take your words BACK, Miss Martin. Dean's disappoint. He kind of liked you. ]
Boo-hoo. People don't like me. The only one I know and tolerate here is one person. One and I'm pretty sure he'd share the same opinions of going back to the place we were in before. [ But he's going to help. Help...everyone else and you. Just because it needs to happen. ]

Hardships? You think this is about hardships? If I didn't have people back home that I deeply care about, I wouldn't be making such a big deal about being here. How do you know it's not? No one knows. That's what Bruce and I are trying to find out!
Listen to me. I don't care about what you want. Okay? I don't give a shit. The only thing I care about right now is Daneel having access to maintenance to keep him functioning and Kobra seeing his family again. [Lydia doesn't typically swear, but she's been spending a lot of time in that house with someone who does and this is a special occasion. In all honesty? She probably wouldn't go home either if given the choice. But there were others that she had to think about now. Not just Daneel and Kobra. Everyone else that was trapped here had a home and some of them might like the option of getting back there.
She looks away from the camera, pouting just slightly.]
This isn't about what we want. It's about everyone else. Can you please just let us see that fucking book?

And if it makes things worse here...are you ready to shoulder that? If it kills someone, or something comes out of it worse than the extinct animals roaming around outside...
[ He pauses for a moment before running his hand down his face. This? Wanting to make sure the other people around her happy and safe? He understands that more than anything else. ] Alright. Okay, I'll bring the book over after I stop by my place. I'll get my geek-faced brother in on this. He knows a lot about this mythology crap, he'll probably have a researchgasm all over the place.
[ Dean's already packing up his crap to head on over to his house. ] When we figure this crap out...just let me do all the talking, Princess. [ And if it ends up going South, Dean'll be the scape goat. ]

[That... was probably the last thing she was expecting to hear from Dean. Ever.
Her expression softens. It would be worth the risk if there was a chance at making it better. And hell, maybe Dean isn't such a massive jerk after all.]
Thank you. I really appreciate it. Also, it's Lydia.
Be careful.

Don't worry about lil ole me. I do dangerous shit for a living, Lydia. [ He gives her a wink, lifting up his makeshift hatchet with a mock salute before going OUTTIE! ]
