002 | Kobra Kid | [Video]
[Kobra's panting hard and wincing down at the little communicator.]
Can anyone who knows how to give stitches come to the church? I can't do it myself on account of it being my arm and also I don't have the supplies. I would kinda prefer one of the pretty doctors, if that's cool.
[He grins, but it's not totally there.]
Turns out I am not a dog person after all.

[This is everything he was afraid of when he first saw the wolves, and that it's Kobra makes it so much worse. Harm to a human is a terrible thing; harm to a friend makes it near unbearable. He's almost reeling. Can he do stitches, if he had to? He isn't even sure; it's an antique treatment and without a local anesthetic it would probably be harder on him than Kobra. Maybe it won't be necessary for him to do that, but he's also completely incapable of doing nothing. What if no qualified doctor makes an appearance?]
I'm coming to you.

[He's going to feel like epic shit if Dan gets hurt because of him.]
Stay with Lydia, okay? She needs you more.
no subject
That's not correct, Kobra. Lydia is safe. At present she does not need me more. You're not safe. You're injured. If I can help in any way then I must do what I can.
no subject
Be careful. You have to be careful. It's not life-threatening or anything. I promise. It's just a scratch. It's not worth you getting hurt over.

[he pushes himself up and, fuck, does that hurt, but he's not going to let Daneel see that. He doesn't want him risking himself any more than he's already about to.]
no subject
[It doesn't take Daneel long to reach the church, and he's only stopped long enough to fetch the most basic of first aid supplies, the sort of thing that will be useful while waiting for proper medical aid. He's fortunately able to avoid the wolves, and he knocks on the back door of the church. He's still worried. He won't be reassured until he can see Kobra for himself.]
no subject
You're okay, right? Lydia's gonna be so pissed at us.
[His bandanna is tied tight on his left arm. There's a little blood soaking through part of it and he's holding it close to his body.]
no subject
[The way Kobra's holding himself worries him a good deal. He's not at all sure he's equipped to deal with a real medical emergency.]
Let me see your arm. Have any doctors contacted you yet?
no subject
No, just stupid Sharon. The wolf just grazed me, though. It's just that their claws are fucking huge.
no subject
[He undoes the bandana, trying to work out what he's going to do. Stitches are an antique treatement, but he doubts he has anything better either. If that's necessary... he wants there to be a doctor. Robots do not make good surgeons. It's... upsetting. In the meantime, he can tell the wound needs proper cleaning. He can do that, at least. He starts getting out the first aid supplies he found.]
Perhaps it might be wise to go together to find a doctor.
no subject
[He grins a little. See? He's perceptive sometimes!]
I don't really care about it scarring. Maybe we could just bandage it real good. It's not deep or anything. [He knows. He's poked at it a lot.]
no subject
[It would be hard. It would probably be as painful for Daneel as Kobra. Even if he knows it's to protect Kobra, to help him heal, the act of sticking a needle into a human being's flesh violates the letter of the First Law, if not the spirit. It makeshim feel a little wobbly to think of, but he can do this if it's necessary.
For now, he takes his first good look at Kobra's wound.]
You should sit some place comfortable while I clean this for you.
no subject
It's just cosmetic. It's really not serious, Dan. Promise.
[He moves to sit on one of the little choir benches. Of course there are no comfortable seats in a fuckin' church. Figures.]
no subject
Very well, Kobra. However, I would be very relieved if you consented to let a medical professional examine your injury later.
[With some antiseptic on a gauze pad from what supplies he had brought, he turns his attention to Kobra's arm again.]
This may sting, Kobra.
no subject
[He tries extra hard not to react, because he's already worried about Daneel. There's a hint of a wince around his eyes, but otherwise he doesn't react to the stinging. He can't remember the last time someone cleaned a cut for him like this or cried over him.]
Are you... okay?
no subject
You're concerned about me because of what I explained about the Laws. Kobra, I won't deny that it troubles me greatly to see you in pain. However, I'm ensuring as best as I can that you'll recover fully. I'm trying to relieve your suffering, and I hope I'm succeeding. I'm well, Kobra. I'm troubled, as I imagine anyone would be, but I am well.
no subject
[He smiles a little.]
You're doing a good job, Dan. You're totally my hero.
[He leans his head on Daneel's shoulder, possibly making it a little harder for him to use his arm, but that's okay. Kobra's not in a rush to go back out there.]
no subject
I don't feel like a hero, Kobra. I'm only doing what I feel is right. That is all I ever do.
[He pauses to moisten the gauze with more antiseptic and keeps cleaning, as gently as he can.]
no subject
[He turns his head to grin up at Daneel's face. Then he cranes his neck a little so he can kiss Daneel's cheek.]
You and Lyds are totally the Mario and Luigi to my Princess Peach.
no subject
I hope that's a favourable comparison, Kobra. Thank you for it, if it is.
no subject
[He holds his arm still for Daneel. The cut really wasn't that bad, at least, so he's pretty sure a tight bandage will be good enough, at least for now. It's not like he cares about scarring or anything. Scars are kind of badass, right?]
no subject
I'm not sure what to do with evil turtles, Kobra, but I'm here for you if you need it.
[He finishes tying the bandage, but makes no effort to remove Kobra from his shoulder either, not until he's ready.]
I believe I've done the best I can for you. We can return to the house as soon as you're ready.
no subject
If there's evil turtles, I'm crapping my pants and then I'm grabbing you and Lyds and yelling for Party and we are hightailing it.
[In his mind, he is literally grabbing them as if they're cardboard cutouts. Totally realistic!]
I guess I'm ready. We'll just have to go fast, right?
[He grabs Daneel's hand as he sits up.]
I know you're supposed to put me first, but if you get hurt, I'm gonna feel like shit, so you be careful, too, okay?
no subject
I am hopeful that both of us will make it back unharmed. We should indeed move quickly, but keep a watch out for anything out of the ordinary. We don't want to be caught unawares.
[Honestly, he won't be happy until Kobra's safe again.]
