[Action] Arrival post
[Threads in this post take place at (or at least start at) the center of town around the fountain. If you would like to address the network or have your character wake up somewhere else, feel free to make your own post in the appropriate community.
In this post, please feel free to have characters jump around. If your character moves threads and it's relatively continuous, please link the earlier thread to the later one and try to follow a tag order/try not to cram too many people into one thread. Please refer to the information post in the OOC comm for anything you might need and feel free to ask questions!]

[He rests his hand on Daneel's arm, trying to calm him. That usually works with his friends, but he's not sure if robots respond the same way to things.]
If the game here is survival, we'll be okay.
[Actually, about an hour ago, he watched his brother die and while his memories are always a little fuzzy after death, he's pretty sure he died again, too, but they don't need to know that.]
We just figure out food and shelter and we figure out who our enemies are.
no subject
It was maybe a little troubling, but not unpleasant, either.]
By enemies, I assume you mean those responsible for our current situation? I suspect you're right, Miss Martin, and that there must be a rational explanation for this, but I wouldn't be so presumptuous as to offer any theories myself, at this point. Securing food and shelter for those here would seem like a good start.
no subject
There's no way in hell she's asking either one to stay with her...
But she really wouldn't mind the company.]
no subject
[He gives Daneel a smile and squeezes his arm before following after her. She's really not any less hostile than anyone else he's used to. May as well stick with someone he can tell is smart.]
Then we can work on food. And fuel. Do you need fuel?
no subject
[He follows as well, since he has no immediate responsibilities, and he seems to have become attached to these two for now. That's okay. Until he knows exactly what the situation is, it's easiest to follow orders and help as he can. There's still the wrist devices to investigate, he supposes, but they can probably wait.]
There seems to be a number of people here. Food for them all is a high priority.
no subject
And I won't need to eat much. I'm on a diet. [She continues leading the way, pleasantly surprised that they havent left yet, and eventually stops in front of the nearest house. Cautiously, she approaches the front door and knocks.]
Hello? Is there anybody in there? Hello?
no subject
When there's no answer, he pushes the door open.]
Anyone home?
[He steps inside. The first thing he notices is a half-eaten TV dinner on a side table. No TV, though. It looks like it was torn right off the wall, actually.]
no subject
I don't believe anyone is here.
[Maybe saying that is saying too much about what he knows, but he's unsettled. Did the previous occupants run, or were they forced out? Neither option is comforting.]
Are we to go in?
no subject
It's eerily quiet and she doesn't like it one bit. Whoever lived here wasn't planning to leave. It was sudden.]
Never thought I'd have to resort to squatting in a recently abandoned house with a robot and some punk.
[She smiles viciously... with maybe the slightest hint of affection.]
We should check all the rooms. If it's not a crime scene, we should stay.
no subject
He heads straight for the first open door. It's a colorful kid's room with a twin bed in the corner and Yo Gabba Gabba posters on one of the walls.]
I want this room. It's awesome.
no subject
This also isn't exactly the normal procedure for an ownership transferral, but nothing about this is normal.
In the meantime, Daneel lays a hand on Kobra's shoulder.]
I think that can be considered, but might I suggest that we ensure this is a safe place to stay, first?
no subject
Lydia takes one look at decor and tilts her head, humming thoughtfully.] It definitely suits your maturity level. All yours.
[She takes her condescending attitude down the hall and hesitantly opens the door to the master bedroom. She peeks in, eyeing the clothes lying on the floor before stepping in front of the large vanity mirror and checking her hair.]
Looks like I found my room. Daneel, do you ever power down or recharge?
[He'd need a place to stay, right? Do robots need rooms?
no subject
[He smiles at Daneel, resting his hand over Daneel's and giving it a squeeze.]
Don't worry so much. We'll be okay.
[He walks into the hallway, giving Daneel's arm a light tug to follow him before letting go. There's a pull-down ladder for the attic in the ceiling. He stops and points to it.]
If there's anything creepy, I bet it's up there. Creepy shit always happens in attics and basements.
no subject
[There's a line there, he's sure, and he's definitely the latter. He thinks so, anyway.]
I don't need any sort of rest, Miss Martin. The most I would ever require is some shelter during inclement weather, to protect myself from physical damage in the events of a storm.
[He looks up at the attic door, considering for a moment, and he reaches up to pull the ladder down.]
If there is anything 'creepy' there, we should make note of it now.
no subject
If you seen any spiders, don't tell me. Just squish them. I don't want to know. Just get rid of them.
no subject
I'll be careful if you will, Dan, but you should totally come here when there's, like, inclement weather or you just want to chill inside or whatever. "Mi casa" and all that.
[Then he yells towards the back of the house.] And don't worry, Lyd, we'll take care of any hypothetical spiders for you. Promise.
[Oh, he's definitely putting spiders in her bed later.]
no subject
That's very kind of you to offer. I'll remember your offer if I need it.
[He's honestly pleased. He's used to the Spacer disregard for robots -- nothing unkind, truly, but just a general dismissal, a disinterest. This is different. Even Kobra's use of a nickname is entirely different.
Daneel climbs up, taking the lead -- not that he really believes there's anything dangerous in the attic, but it's better to be careful, and it's better he take the risk. The attic is nothing particularly special: dusty, with boxes and old furniture stacked against the walls. There might be the odd spider, or even a mouse or two, but nothing dangerous, nothing creepy.]
I believe it's safe.
no subject
[She slowly emerges from her room and stands next to the ladder, peering up but leaving enough room for Kobra to go next if he so wished.]
If there's no danger here, why did they leave? What are we supposed to be doing? I have a life! I have people to get back to. I don't have time to be hiding in a house filled with cameras and no way out! I just want my phone back-- ... My phone.
[How the hell is she supposed to snap pictures of herself to kill the time?! No one online is going to see how gorgeous her makeup turned out that day!]
no subject
[The idea of life without Poison is pretty bad, if he thinks about it, and he hopes Ghoul and Jet got away, but who knows?]
Oh, hey, this isn't so bad. Just dusty, but dust is no big deal, right? Come on up. I'll keep anything crawly away.
no subject
What do you mean, you think you died? You are very much alive, Kobra. Is this an attempt at humour?
[He's very serious, very intent on this point. If it's a joke, it's not one he understands the point of. He doesn't like it.]
no subject
[And yet, the only reason she is following them up there is because Kobra said he'd keep the crawly things away.]
... It's a good space. There's potential. Everything in this house needs to be cleaned.
no subject
[it's obviously a quip, something he says to comfort himself.]
I just hope my brother's alive somewhere. He died right before I did and he's not here.
no subject
Humans are mortal. In the end, all human beings must... die.
[His voice grows strangely hushed on that last word, like he doesn't want to be caught saying a dirty word.]
This is how things are. If you've died several times... and you are a Killjoy.... are Killjoys not human?
no subject
[But his brother. His brother died? That...
Lydia rolls her eyes and crosses her arms. Being nice is almost as hard as letting her guard down.]
Sorry. Comfort isn't really my thing. Not the verbal kind, anyway.
no subject
[He tries not to think about it too hard.]
And FYI, helmets don't help much with laser beams. I have a motorcycle helmet somewhere. It doesn't do shit. I was in a fire fight and I went down. End of story.
