002 || Sharon Carter || [video]
Sorry to inundate you all with messages, but I just wanted everyone to know that I've asked Logan to participate in an experiment. I would appreciate it if no one would contact him until the experiment is completed. Wade, if you manage not to do contact him, I'll make it worth your while.
Thank you for your understanding.

How about you come over, and we'll... talk it over.
[Is it suddenly hot in here? Because Sharon just brushed some hair off her neck as if it's hot.]

[And if he could, he'd be staring at her chest through the video this whole time]

[She wonders if he really doesn't recognize her or if he's from another universe, too. Then again, she and Wade had never run in the same circles, not really. Just her face on television and his in files.]

[Of course he doesn't have a clue who she is, just that she's still talking to him, pretty and blonde. Not that he'd ever worked with less, really.]
no subject
[Or else she'll hunt him down. Logan is going to have enough trouble completing his mission without this whackjob interfering.]

If you didn't care before, you don't need to start now.
And you are?

Lydia Martin. And you're Sharon Carter of SHIELD. [She pays attention. She's desperate to know what's going on. Any information she can get her hands on, she'll memorize.]
I suppose this experiment has something to do with a way out? [There's a flicker of worry before she takes to twirling her perfectly-styled hair around her fingers and tilting her head] I mean, I'm just guessing. Whatever. I'm probably wrong.

We're testing some things we've found here on him. He has the best chance of survival of anyone I know, so if something is some sort of biochemical weapon they mean to use on us, he'll help us find it without anyone else getting hurt.
[A lie, obviously. But she's curious what this girl will make of it, and she doesn't want the people behind the cameras knowing what Logan is really up to.]

[Unless the subject isn't human. Do these people know about werewolves? Do they know about Jackson and Derek and his pack?]
If you're in favor of human sacrifice, there are likely more effective ways to play god and get results. Building a boat, for example. [She haughtily narrows her eyes and flips the hair she was just twirling over her shoulder] I heard one of my roommates suggest it. It might be worth a shot.
[A lie. She'd thought of it herself.]
no subject
[Odd. She hadn't asked why Logan would have the best chance of survival.]
Do you or this roommate know how to build a boat or know where to go once you've built it?
no subject
[Crap.]
It can't be too difficult and I'd imagine navigation would be easy by following constellations. [FUCK. The urge to be right and her confidence is overriding her natural ability to blend in as a ditsy schoolgirl.]
Just find someone who's good at astrology.
[Nice. Good save. Lydia smiles.]
no subject
Do you know many constellations, Lydia?
And if you could drop the act, I'd appreciate it. We don't have time for whatever insecurities. We have other things to do.
[She still isn't entirely sure it's an act. She has... evidence, but no proof, so telling Lydia to drop the act is something of a gamble. Still, they really don't have time for Lydia to bullshit her.]

This is a public feed, Agent Carter. I haven't even begun to establish my social standing. We have no idea how long we're going to be here, and--
[Ugh. Uuuuugh. Okay, fine. People are depending on her. Working together could be the difference in rotting here in this glorified ditch of a town and getting back home to Jackson. The smile returns, albeit much smaller.]
I know quite a few. You'd be surprised how effective astronomy is at killing boredom. However, I'm much more familiar with chemistry, Latin, Archaic Latin, French, biology, astrophysics, and, of course, mathematics.

[Never mind that people had in the past - his alarm tells her he likely knows, since she hadn't indicated that at all as far as she knew. No, what gets her - amuses her, really - is that he thinks they're already organized enough that they're experimenting on people.]

Don't worry. No one can make Logan do something he doesn't want to do.
I'm Sharon. And you are?
