Hey. It's me, obviously. Um, I was just thinking since there's new people arriving here and I know I haven't actually gotten to meet about half of the people currently here, maybe we could have a sort of... bake out?

I'm planning on going fishing today, so I could plan to grab enough for anyone wanting to come. I'd really like to see who's here that's willing to try to get together to figure out what exactly is going on and what we intend to do about it. We might be stuck here, but there's no reason we have to be secluded while we are.

[Except for hunters. Dean, this means you.]

I just think we might want to start acting a little more like we're all stuck here together instead of having ulterior motives or ones that, you know, completely screw with people when they go and do things by themselves.

[This might be directed at the Doctor and anyone involved with the event that had her freaking out like any animal during an earthquake/natural disaster. She was very not happy with you.]

It may be ridiculous to ask, but, hey, why not, right? If anyone wants to come, please do. If not, that's just more fish for me.

[She follows him over, both out of curiosity and because hey, he still wasn't tip top. But the shadows of the wings had her full attention. She reached out to touch them, then tried to find the source of them.

She couldn't, of course, but she moved to run her hands over his back nonetheless.]

Wow. Is this where I say something about how impressive your wingspan is?

Oh, you do know how to make a fellow feel good. [He winks at her, remaining still while she tries to touch the shadows, then seeks the source.]

It's a quantum-mechanical trick. Schroedinger's wings. [He explains mildly, trailing off at the touch along his back. That feels nice, and he gives a soft hum of appreciation.]

[She notices when he trails off, hears the hum of approval and takes it as permission to keep running her hands over his back, giving him something of a backrub/massage as he stood there.]

Schrodinger's wings? I guess that's a somewhat apt analogy. They're there, but they're not there, but they're both until one or the other is proven, but that can't be done without opening the angel from the box, right?

Something like that. Hard to explain without all the equations. [He rolls his shoulders under the touch, then stills again to let her work.]

You're spoiling me, you know.

Maybe you're spoiling me.

[She smiled and kept rubbing over his back, not too hard, but hard enough that it should help ease any tension it carried.]

Not like I get to just curl up with everyone here, you know. I'm not used to being alone.

[tryingitall]

I'm sure there are other people who'd cuddle with you, darling. [His voice is gentle now. He can relate to a need for company.]

But I'm happy to oblige, any time. You know, if you call my name, I can hear you. If you're ever in a jam or looking for a friend.

There might be, but I don't really know anyone here well enough to cuddle.

[She hadn't known about that, but it was a nifty little thing to have as a notation.] I didn't know that, but I'll keep it in mind if I'm ever feeling tragically alone.

Oh, more cuddles for me, then. [He chuckles softly again, and sighs, turning and taking both her hands. He'd happily stand around and get backrubs all day, but that doesn't seem fair to her.]

Let's sit again. And, yes. Keep me in mind if you ever feel tragic.

[She nods, then moves to head back over to where they'd been sitting, moving slowly in case his eyes still weren't up to speed.]

How long do you think it will take until you're better?

[tryingitall]

[He matches her pace comfortably as he follows, steady enough, just slightly less certain.]

Oh, I don't know. I wouldn't think any longer than another day or two. Don't worry about me, love. I'll be fine.

[She guides him to the bench, waiting for him to sit before she took her place up next to him again.]

Yes, sure. Okay. Fine. I'll just not worry because you told me to.

[Hear that? That's sarcasm, Balthazar.]

[tryingitall]

[Sarcasm is his native tongue. He blinks up at her, then chuckles, shaking his head.] Or you can visit frequently and mother-hen at me as much as you like. Who am I to argue?

That's what I thought. I'll bring you food and what drinks I can still scavenge from the bar and check up on you. Because I can.

[tryingitall]

[His expression softens. It's strange to be taken care of, but also rather pleasant.] Don't waste your food on me. Even when I'm healing, I don't have to eat. I'll take drinks, though.

...or cheesecake, if it turns up miraculously. [Grin. He's not holding his breath.]

You might not have to, but can you? I mean... does it just like, sit in your body and not do anything if you do?

[Because she was feeding you, Balthazar. Shut up.]

Don't tease. [She groaned and leaned her head on his shoulder.]

Cheesecake. And chocolate. And fresh tropical fruit. God...

I can. I can appreciate taste and texture. It's more or less like tossing it in an incinerator, though. I don't need the nutrients.

[As much as he appreciates the nurturing, and doesn't want to dissuade her from visiting, he's still reluctant to accept. But he does kiss the top of her head lightly, since she's put it in reach.] Our food stores are low. I don't want to drive them lower just because I like a snack now and then. I can be at least that responsible.

Liquor is different. No one starves to death because the bar's run out of scotch.

[She wanted to argue with it, but when he put it like that, it was hard to.]

So really, you're just saving everyone from terrible dehydration and hangovers when you're pilfering from the bar.

[Riley smiled as she said that, both at the kiss and at imagining Balthazar running around town grabbing any alcohol people were about to drink and drinking it for them, all while yelling 'I'm doing this for your own good']

[He laughs out loud, head tilting back slightly.] Exactly! Doing my part to reduce the risk of alcoholism in the Cape. Pure altruism.

Altruism my tail. [But she laughed along with him, glad to be able to make him feel some kind of happiness while he was temporarily out of commission.]
