So many would be jealous. If you ask me, though, far too many use surgery to begin with. [Fortescue shrugs.] I suppose I'm just good at seeing beauty. [She reaches out, perhaps boldly, and curls a finger in Meg's hair.] Did you know, for example, that a starlet had her hair surgically altered to blonde from brown? Terrible shame. It was such a nice shade.

[The extent of what you can do, in Imperium, is a little staggering, if you have the right money and connections.]

[ Feel free to touch her hair whenever you like, Fort. ] What? Shortage of hair dye back home?

See, I, on the other hand had my hair chemically altered from this lovely colour to blonde when the King of Hell decided to dunk my head into a vat of bleach.

Luckily, this place decided to treat me to a couple of boxes of dye to fix that crap.

[Not seeing any objections, Fortescue is only too happy to keep playing with Meg's hair with her free hand.]

That's just rude. Not that I find it surprising that a King of Hell would be rude. [She smirks.] But, no, I suppose she was simply tired of hair dye and wanted it to be permanent. Don't know why, exactly. I've never seen any truth to the phrase 'blondes have more fun.'

[ Definitely no objections here. In fact, Meg shifts closer to Fortescue. It makes a rare change for someone to be playing with her hair rather than grabbing her by it while mid-torture. ]

My first meatsuit when I came topside for the first time in a long time. She was blonde. There were good times. Until the Winchesters exorcised me and sent me back to Hell.

I much prefer this one though. She's so pretty and curvy. And I gotta say, I love the hair.

It's very nice hair. [Fortescue chuckles, still smirking, rubbing it lightly between her fingers.] So you're saying that certain blondes have more fun? I could buy that. You seem like a girl who keeps on top of where the fun is.

More fun? Nah. I've had a lot more fun not being blonde. It's overrated.

[ Meg reaches out to toy with Fort's hair in return, shooting her a smirk. Two can play this game! ]

[Fortescue has long, glossy and dark hair. She's always been comfortable with that, less comfortable with her brown eyes. As a teenager, at least. These days, she likes to think they work for her. Make her stick out from a crowd of blue eyes. Not that blue eyes aren't nice.]

I'm glad to hear that. Wore a blonde wig once or twice, and didn't enjoy it. Perhaps we brunettes just know more about fun.

[ Meg is definitely a big fan of the dark hair/dark eye combo - unless your name is Castiel, because he really rocks those baby blues in ways that make Meg go gooey inside. ]

Can't imagine you blonde. You're hot just the way you are. And definitely fun.

It was very... [She tilts her head a little closer to Meg's hand. Almost absently, if you didn't know her.] Bright. And thank you! I try. Of course, around here you have to try a bit harder than usual.

[ Meg inches closer - totally so she can stroke Fort's hair easier... honest. ]

I'm all for making my own fun in this place.

I think we have to, really, unless it starts handing out things other than decks of cards. Board games, for example. At this rate, I doubt we'll ever get a hold of a proper computer or video equipment. Though I suppose one never knows.

[She smiles, wry. Perhaps the Center will smile on her, someday. It seems to like her decently enough already, probably because she wants to stay.]

You can keep any board games you find. Before we moved to the Science Centre, Cas and I pretty much always had a game of Monopoly on the go. There's only so many times a girl can pass 'Go' before she wants to kill someone.

This place could use some videos though. Or music.

That's a lot of playing a game. I don't blame you. It's too bad this place doesn't have a PA system that we can find. We could at least play something through that.

[Fortescue continues to gently comb her fingers through Meg's hair, tucking it behind one ear with a whisper-soft touch.]

On the plus side, it wasn't Twister...

[ Meg shifts even closer, mirroring Fortescue's actions. ]

Maybe we could get you to flash those pretty eyelashes at the machine and ask them nicely to give us new shiny toys?

Alas. It's not done anything before. I think it's immune to my charms.

[She smirks, eyes closing briefly as Meg's fingers brush her ear.]

What, pray tell, is Twister?

Twister is a game designed solely for the purpose of groping each other while claiming it's accidental while trying not to crush each other.

Only, less fun than actual groping.

Sounds problematic. [Who wants to worry about crushing people?] But, sadly, like so many people I could think of. Why don't people just admit what they want, instead of playing silly games? It takes so much less time.

Less time, and less messing about with coloured dots.

Maybe I'll show you how to play one day, if we get bored enough.

[It does sound interesting. Fortescue chuckles.]

[ Not that she's offering a chance for Fort to fall on top of he--- wait, no, that's exactly what she's offering. ]

[With a tiny smirk, she strokes a finger, feather-light, down Meg's jaw. It's a — debatable — character flaw of hers that she's never been able to easily resist an offer like that. Not from such an alluring face that might need some extra cheering up.]

I suppose you are much more durable than I am.

[ Meg dips her head, seeming to shy away from Fort's touch. Although if anyone knows Meg, they know shyness is not something she suffers from. In fact, the reason she dips her head is so she can catch that finger between her teeth, giving a light, playful tug. ]

Any time you want to find out just how durable I am, Sugar, you just give me a call.

[Fortescue's smirk broadens into a grin, and she taps the end of Meg's nose gently. She'd probably make the gesture with or without wine.]

I'll do that. I wouldn't want to test it so soon after...

[She shrugs inelegantly — things, it says — and then leans forward ever so slightly to kiss the top of Meg's forehead.]

Luckily, we all have these delightful phones.

[ It's welcomed. While Meg is relatively well pieced back together with no tell-tale signs of having been torn to shreds, she does still feel a little delicate, though it's likely more psychological than physical and she hates herself for it. Weakness if not a pretty thing. ]

You'll not hear such a travesty from my mouth, I assure you. Worst excuse in the book. Only the least tech-savvy could get away with it. A gentle let-down is far superior, I think.
