[ video ] - Day 163
[ Guess who's back from the dead? That's right, everybody's favourite resident demon! Of course, she's lacking a little of her usual sass and sparkle - apparently being thrown to the wolves - quite literally (if by wolves we mean hellhounds) - has that effect on a person. ]
Hello Cape Kore. Did you miss me? [ There's a smirk, but it's strained. ]
Did you get the stray puppy population under control while I was on my unscheduled vacation or you all still waiting for the dog warden to show up?

I'm definitely up for excitement that doesn't end in death - my death, at least.
[ Other people? Meh. She can take it or leave it. There's only a few people she really cares about. ]
[ action ]
[Even injuries are nicer. She'll take her bites, which are nearly faded now, over getting mauled to death.]
So what do you get up to around here, when you're not in the company of angels and Winchesters? Any hobbies?
[ action ]
Demons didn't dream for so long.
What about you? Hobbies? Interests?
[ action ]
[It is in Imperium. What are pubs for, after all?]
It's certainly one of mine. Mostly, when I'm not doing that, I wander. Go to the library. See if I can't dig anything up. Though with the group in the library, you'd think they would have found something by now, if there was something to find.
[Fortescue smirks.]
And ogling. I suppose I do a fair amount of that.
[At least she's up-front about it?]
[ action ]
[ Aside from the odd trip to stock up on cheesy romance novels to read with Dean. It's kinda their thing. Booze and mutual reading of purple prose.
She leans over to top up both their glasses. Hopefully Fort has a high alcohol tolerance... ]
[ action ]
[Her tolerance is rubbish, in fact. Which means she doesn't have to spend much to get drunk, when she wants to. But it also means she can get tipsy when she doesn't want to.
Fortescue doesn't have an aversion at the moment, however, and grins at the refill.]
Thank you.
[ action ]
Maybe I'll check it out some time.
[ action ]
Are you someone who wants to leave as soon as possible, or someone who doesn't mind this place too much? [She cants her head to the side.] There are both camps, around here. I'm the latter.
[ action ]
[ Especially while Cas and Dean are here. If they go home then... maybe not so much. But alone and alive is still better than dead, right? ]
[ action ]
[Although it means never being able to truly relax again. But at least she'll probably live for a few more years, if the Center sends her home. Still, she hopes it won't.]
All the same, the Center is an improvement for the both of us. [She winks.] Who can argue with a pretty drinking partner?
[ action ]
Feel free to stop by any time for drinks. You definitely meet the pretty criteria!
[ action ]
[She chuckles.]
Always good to know where your potential partners are.
[Someday, she won't say something like that with the innuendo intended. But this is not that day.]
[ action ]
The door is always open.
Now, you mentioned having something in common with the mutts. Obviously it's not your looks nor your breath. We've established you don't have a fetish for dragging souls to Hell. So, what could a pretty thing like you possibly have in common with those demonic pitbulls?
[ action ]
[Fortescue raises a hand, palm up, for a quick demonstration of she and the hellhounds' shared trait. For a moment, it looks like the shadows rise in the room to devour her completely, flaring like oil in water. And then she reappears, the shadows disbursing again.]
We both share an affinity for the shadows, it seems.
[ action ]
Impressive.
So, I have to ask, Shadow Hopper. What do you see when you look at me? Human or other?
[ action ]
[Fortescue cants her head to the side, curious.]
What does the real 'you' look like? If you don't mind my asking.
[ action ]
[ Meg knows demons look horrifying. She sees it. And she's seen the reaction of people who can see them. Which is why she can't understand why Cas spouts a load of crap about thorny beauty blah blah blah when he can see her true form beneath her vessel. ]
[ action ]
[Meg has borrowed beauty. Fortescue imagines this should bother her more than it does, but it really isn't her business, she thinks. She has a few more sips of wine.]
[ action ]
Most women can change their hair or their wardrobe. I can change the whole damn thing with no surgery.
[ action ]
[The extent of what you can do, in Imperium, is a little staggering, if you have the right money and connections.]
[ action ]
See, I, on the other hand had my hair chemically altered from this lovely colour to blonde when the King of Hell decided to dunk my head into a vat of bleach.
Luckily, this place decided to treat me to a couple of boxes of dye to fix that crap.
[ action ]
That's just rude. Not that I find it surprising that a King of Hell would be rude. [She smirks.] But, no, I suppose she was simply tired of hair dye and wanted it to be permanent. Don't know why, exactly. I've never seen any truth to the phrase 'blondes have more fun.'
[ action ]
My first meatsuit when I came topside for the first time in a long time. She was blonde. There were good times. Until the Winchesters exorcised me and sent me back to Hell.
I much prefer this one though. She's so pretty and curvy. And I gotta say, I love the hair.
[ action ]
[ action ]
[ Meg reaches out to toy with Fort's hair in return, shooting her a smirk. Two can play this game! ]
