[Welcome to the semi-smiling visage of Riley, Kore.]

Hey. It's me, obviously. Um, I was just thinking since there's new people arriving here and I know I haven't actually gotten to meet about half of the people currently here, maybe we could have a sort of... bake out?

I'm planning on going fishing today, so I could plan to grab enough for anyone wanting to come. I'd really like to see who's here that's willing to try to get together to figure out what exactly is going on and what we intend to do about it. We might be stuck here, but there's no reason we have to be secluded while we are.

[Except for hunters. ~~Dean, this means you.~~]

I just think we might want to start acting a little more like we're all stuck here together instead of having ulterior motives or ones that, you know, completely screw with people when they go and do things by themselves.

[This might be directed at the Doctor and anyone involved with the event that had her freaking out like any animal during an earthquake/natural disaster. She was very not happy with you.]

It may be ridiculous to ask, but, hey, why not, right? If anyone wants to come, please do. If not, that's just more fish for me.

Jay and... [It takes him a minute, but when it clicks he looks slightly alarmed. It's not a completely unapplicable comparison. Minus the blunts.

...well, minus the blunts, as far as he's aware. Hmh. He'll be side-eyeing Dean next time he sees him.] I suppose so. I hadn't thought of it that way.

[Shaking this off, he squirms at the poke in the side.] Here now, no one said you could tickle me! I could get fatter. If they put in a Cheesecake Factory in town, maybe.

[She smiled, smug in the knowledge that she'd not only amused him, but that he was ticklish.]

I didn't know angels were ticklish. I would have thought they'd be all genitally challenged Ken dolls with no sense of humor who couldn't feel anything. What do I get for an angel? A lush who wants to cuddle up to manatees and who happens to be ticklish and probably more in touch with his feminine side if his penchant for cheesecake says anything about him.

[Riley teased and poked him again, fingers wriggling to tickle him.]

Do I look like a Ken doll? [He makes a face at her. Fortunately, he's fond enough of her not to threaten to whip out his un-Ken-like anatomy to prove himself.

He continues to squirm away from the tickling and swat at her hands ineffectually, grinning.] You got the guardian angel you deserve, love. You're stuck with me now, unless you've kept the receipt.

I don't know, do you? [She would have been a little surprised, but it wasn't like she hadn't seen naked people before in abundance. Silly puritan angel.

She was still laughing as she tickled him, sticking her tongue out at that.] I'd rather have a fun angel than one that tells me not to do everything that's fun. Bet you I'll be the one dragging you out of trouble more than you're dragging me.

I am most definitely--hgg!--the fun angel. [He gives up on the struggle, letting her tickle him and chuckling at the sensations. He's not as ticklish as he's pretending to be, but it's a fun game, and the more he lets it happen, the more he wants to laugh. If she's not careful, he'll slide right off the end of the bench.]

[She doesn't do it for too long, knowing he's still not fully up to angel speed. But it's nice to see him laugh. When she's poked fun at him enough, she gives a small sigh and loops her arm back through his, resting her head on his shoulder.]

I guess that means heaven's real in your world, huh? What's it like?

[He's a little slower to relax again, trying to adjust to the idea that he can be tickled in a non-sexual fashion. After a few free-floating chuckles, though, he settles again. He could get used to friendly cuddles.]

Heaven? Well...it depends on the person. Angels see it differently from humans, for the most part, but each individual soul projects its own memories, best memories, and relives them eternally. I used to like one place, it was a childhood memory from a lighthouse-keeper's granddaughter. A storm coming up over the sea. It was beautiful.

Oh. It's not one really big party?

[She'd always heard it would be a huge gathering, with all of you relatives and friends there to greet you.]

It's a 'This is your Life' rerun on a loop? That's kind of weird.

Oh, I don't know. It makes some sense, depending how you look at it. Not everyone is happy at a party, but everyone has some moment in their existence where there's a reason for joy. Mortal experiences are relative, I think.

Anyway, it's sort of inspirational when you think about it. Make all the good memories you can while you live, so you have plenty to keep you occupied in the hereafter. But I don't know. Angels don't get the same thing, if we even get an afterlife.

[She rested her head on his shoulder again, hand at his back to rub small circles over it. She thought about her life so far, all the things she'd done and gotten to see and it made her smile.]

I think my heaven would be a pretty nice place to visit. A lot of trees. Lots of outdoors. My family.

[Her head tipped back and she looked up at Balthazar.]

What do angels get? There has to be something for you, right?

[Well. That's a sure way to get him to settle. His eyes drift half-closed, like a cat when it's being scratched. He could get used to this.]

Mn. Old forests are nice. Peaceful. [Eyes opening again, he glances down at her with a small, apologetic smile.] I wish I knew.

You could come visit my heaven. There's a little lagoon that's hidden away I found once that I bet you'd love.

[She likes that he's calm, peaceful at the moment. If he's been wounded, she wants to keep him that way.]

[His smile widens slowly. It's a kind offer, one he doubts he'll ever be able to take her up on. Still...]

I'll keep it in mind, darling. Tell me about it?

It's in the middle of the Amazon. About a mile away from one of the indigenous tribes there. My dad's an anthropologist who studies the cultural significance of the modern world on segregated tribes and clans like that and we all just went along for the ride.

But this lagoon is this pretty little space. Well, it's not really a lagoon, it's more like a little pond or watering hole, but I always thought of it as a lagoon. It has this waterfall that just trickles into it instead of pouring and the water's that perfect just almost cool temperature. There's orchids and passion flowers that make it small like this wonderful little oasis and there's a cupuaçu tree not far so you can grab some and eat them while you swim.

The trees are so thick, you can't see the sky for the canopy of leaves above you and all you can hear is the sound of everything around you. Birds, frogs, snakes, monkeys. It's perfect.

[His eyes close again as he listens, and the images her words convey are so vivid, he can almost feel and see and smell the place. He makes a small, contented murmur and nods.] It sounds beautiful. If I get the chance, I'll be sure to look for it. And thank you.

For what?

[She tipped her head up to look at him, not sure what he was thanking her for.]

[He gives a small, lazy shrug.] This. Being kind.

[What he means is, no one's ever come over to chat and cuddle and brought him a beer when he's under the weather before. Partly this is because he's not sick or injured often, but regardless, it's a different experience.]

I'm not being kind. I'm being greedy because I want cuddles.

[She smiled up at him, hand still smoothing over his back. It was partly true, for her. She liked having someone to be able to be close to. It made her feel a little less lonely in this place.]

[He laughs and gives her a gentle squeeze.] Aren't you lucky I have the same weakness for snuggling? Don't tell anyone.

[He pauses for a beat, then asks:] So, the next time we go running in the woods, do I get to see you in jaguar form again?

Now why would I do that? They might try to steal them. Then there'd be a fight, and no one wants that.

[But her tone showed she was finding this entire thing amusing. The question quiets her for a moment, but she's fidgeting with a fold in the arm of his shirt as she thinks about it.] If you want. I like running that way just as much. Or I could do the other form.

You give me far too much credit for popularity! But I'm not complaining.

[He watches her fingers tug at the fabric of his t-shirt, entertained and relaxed.] What other form would that be?

I'm not taking any chances.

[Her cheek brushed his shoulder as she settled it, still looking down at her hand as she played with his shirt.] If wherever you're from has that Hollywood werewolf creature that's half and half and stands upright, it's like that, only half jaguar. I can talk in that form, so if I have to be around other shifters for any reason, I'll generally pick that one.

Truly? That sounds quite elegant. [He's noticed she's being shy about it, though.]

Is it a form you don't usually take around anyone other than shifters?

[She shook her head.] Even the few humans that know seem to be more uncomfortable with it than a giant cat. I don't know why. Probably because it looks more like what a monster should look like than if we just did the animal form. I think it unsettles them on that primal level.

[She'd never shifted into her hybrid form in front of a non-shifter. Not since she'd heard a few of the human family members of a shifter clan she was staying at say how it freaked them out when her brother had. Werewolves didn't shift the same way werecats did, so it seemed to be a bit too much for them to take.] If you want a conversation, that's what I'll have to go as, unless you don't mind headbutts and nips to help me make my point.

Haven't I mentioned how not-human-looking my own trueform is? I doubt any shape you take will surprise me or make me uncomfortable. [Leaning in, he gives her a chaste kiss on the top of the head.]

I'm flattered you trust me enough to suggest it, in fact. Whatever makes you most comfortable suits me fine.
