Video || Day 77
[Welcome to the semi-smiling visage of Riley, Kore.]
Hey. It's me, obviously. Um, I was just thinking since there's new people arriving here and I know I haven't actually gotten to meet about half of the people currently here, maybe we could have a sort of... bake out?
I'm planning on going fishing today, so I could plan to grab enough for anyone wanting to come. I'd really like to see who's here that's willing to try to get together to figure out what exactly is going on and what we intend to do about it. We might be stuck here, but there's no reason we have to be secluded while we are.
[Except for hunters.Dean, this means you.]
I just think we might want to start acting a little more like we're all stuck here together instead of having ulterior motives or ones that, you know, completely screw with people when they go and do things by themselves.
[This might be directed at the Doctor and anyone involved with the event that had her freaking out like any animal during an earthquake/natural disaster. She was very not happy with you.]
It may be ridiculous to ask, but, hey, why not, right? If anyone wants to come, please do. If not, that's just more fish for me.

[Slowly, quietly, she began a quiet rumbling in her chest; a muted purring in her attempt to comfort him.]
We'll just have to hope the place doesn't run out of beer for you.
[That had a few other questions popping up in her head, but she set them aside for now, intent on trying to make Balthazar feel better, and perhaps herself at hearing that he had a somewhat doomed existence.]
no subject
[He's quiet for a moment, then adds:] Are you aware you're purring, love? Not to embarrass you; I quite like it. But the jaguar transformation wasn't a one time thing, was it?
no subject
She laughs softly, a sound that makes the purr stutter.] No, it wasn't. It's also not something I go around making a point of sharing since most people don't believe in anything not human and the ones that do like to kill them. But, since you're an angel and all, it kind of feels a little bit like species solidarity.
[Even if they were both completely different species from completely different worlds, she had a feeling he'd know what she meant.]
no subject
Don't worry, though. I'll keep the secret, but no one's going to try to kill you here. You're far from the only not-human. [He's quiet for a moment, listening to the purr, then something occurs to him. He laughs softly and reaches for the chain of his necklace.]
And here I've been wearing this thing for a year and a half. [He usually wears the pendant tucked into his shirt, but when he pulls it out it becomes clear it's some sort of cast metal charm of either a leopard or a jaguar. Heavily stylized, it's hard to tell which type of cat it is.]
no subject
[She was liking just sitting there, sharing each other's company and taking comfort in it. But he moved and pulled something out of his shirt and she tipped her head up, curious. Looking at the pendant, she let out a short laugh, a hand coming up to trace what were obviously feline features.]
Where'd you get that?
no subject
[He smiles and lets her handle the pendant.] Picked it up in the gift shop of the Smithsonian, actually. I just liked the feel of the metal, I suppose.
no subject
[It's a nice pendant; heavy and solid. She liked it.] Not because you have some kind of affinity towards cats? That might be some weird sort of kismet at work.
no subject
I like most animals, though. I would say frogs and manatees rank at the top for me, but I suppose I do relate to cats on some level. They know how to have a good time.
no subject
[It was an honest enough mistake to make. (Sorry Dean)]
[She did laugh at that, nudging him with her head.]
Frogs and manatees? You got a thing for mermaids? [She looped an arm through his, enjoying this small moment of physical comfort, the first that had happened here that hadn't been accidental in her feline form.] When you're feeling better, I'll show you a good time. We'll go raid the bar and find a jukebox.
no subject
[And that Balthazar's having trouble accepting that bond, for a number of reasons.]
Not mermaids, so much. I just...well, all right, I was having a conversation with a date one time, and I told her I thought manatees were rather charming because they look all smug and sleepy and they have these delightful bristly whiskers. She looked at me across the table and said, 'You just described yourself'. So now I like them even better.
no subject
Not nearly as much as his comment about what his date said, her eyes tearing up as she tried to picture him as a manatee cousin.] Oh god. I suppose it' a good thing you didn't turn into one during that little ruckus. I might have decided to try to eat you.
[She poked him in the side with a finger.] You're not nearly as blubbery.
no subject
...well, minus the blunts, as far as he's aware. Hmh. He'll be side-eyeing Dean next time he sees him.] I suppose so. I hadn't thought of it that way.
[Shaking this off, he squirms at the poke in the side.] Here now, no one said you could tickle me! I could get fatter. If they put in a Cheesecake Factory in town, maybe.
no subject
I didn't know angels were ticklish. I would have thought they'd be all genitally challenged Ken dolls with no sense of humor who couldn't feel anything. What do I get for an angel? A lush who wants to cuddle up to manatees and who happens to be ticklish and probably more in touch with his feminine side if his penchant for cheesecake says anything about him.
[Riley teased and poked him again, fingers wriggling to tickle him.]
no subject
He continues to squirm away from the tickling and swat at her hands ineffectually, grinning.] You got the guardian angel you deserve, love. You're stuck with me now, unless you've kept the receipt.
no subject
She was still laughing as she tickled him, sticking her tongue out at that.] I'd rather have a fun angel than one that tells me not to do everything that's fun. Bet you I'll be the one dragging you out of trouble more than you're dragging me.

I guess that means heaven's real in your world, huh? What's it like?
no subject
Heaven? Well...it depends on the person. Angels see it differently from humans, for the most part, but each individual soul projects its own memories, best memories, and relives them eternally. I used to like one place, it was a childhood memory from a lighthouse-keeper's granddaughter. A storm coming up over the sea. It was beautiful.
no subject
[She'd always heard it would be a huge gathering, with all of you relatives and friends there to greet you.]
It's a 'This is your Life' rerun on a loop? That's kind of weird.
no subject
Anyway, it's sort of inspirational when you think about it. Make all the good memories you can while you live, so you have plenty to keep you occupied in the hereafter. But I don't know. Angels don't get the same thing, if we even get an afterlife.
no subject
I think my heaven would be a pretty nice place to visit. A lot of trees. Lots of outdoors. My family.
[Her head tipped back and she looked up at Balthazar.]
What do angels get? There has to be something for you, right?
no subject
Mn. Old forests are nice. Peaceful. [Eyes opening again, he glances down at her with a small, apologetic smile.] I wish I knew.
no subject
[She likes that he's calm, peaceful at the moment. If he's been wounded, she wants to keep him that way.]
no subject
I'll keep it in mind, darling. Tell me about it?
no subject
But this lagoon is this pretty little space. Well, it's not really a lagoon, it's more like a little pond or watering hole, but I always thought of it as a lagoon. It has this waterfall that just trickles into it instead of pouring and the water's that perfect just almost cool temperature. There's orchids and passion flowers that make it small like this wonderful little oasis and there's a cupuaçu tree not far so you can grab some and eat them while you swim.
The trees are so thick, you can't see the sky for the canopy of leaves above you and all you can hear is the sound of everything around you. Birds, frogs, snakes, monkeys. It's perfect.
