[ There's a scuffling, like someone's just tried to get up on their feet and failed, and then a loud, panicked voice rings out loudly. ]

What's going on, what is this?

[ More muffled sounds, then a loud tap against the communicator. ]

Why am I on a beach?!

[It takes Castiel a moment to place that voice, then he can't hide the surprise in his own.]

[ Everything goes dead silent as Anna freezes, because it's not the first time this has happened. It's not the first time they've used his voice to taunt her. ]

Cas?

[ There's tapping on the communicator again, sure that she's just mishearing. ]

Whats going on, what is this place?

[ Video ]

[He looks more than a little distressed.]

None of us are quite sure. You're--[Alive.] I didn't expect to see you again.

[ Video ]

[ She's obviously quite shocked when the video starts up, and she peers for a moment in confusion before clearing her throat. Her response is curt and formal, maybe even a little sarcastic. ]

Yeah, well I wasn't expecting to see anything again, so we're both surprised.

[VOICE]

[Mina takes a moment to listen in on Anna and Cas. Fascinating. After settling back, she replies. Her voice is English and amused.]

My, my, my. For someone with a sunny, if not vague, disposition, Castiel certainly does seem to have a lot of friends around here.

[VOICE]

I wouldn't call him a friend.

[ There's a definite note of bitterness in her voice, not quite anger but definitely close. It's a moment before she actually thinks about it, and then suddenly she blurts out. ]

Who are you?

[VOICE]

Doctor Mina Barrett, dear. Chief of Surgery in town.

And you?

[VOICE]

Anna M- [ She cuts herself short, clears her throat and then continues on as if nothing happened. ]

I'm Anna. I don't suppose you're any more clued in on what's going on here than anyone else?

Have you arrived unharmed?

Unharmed? Well, yes but-

[ She pauses to collect herself, and the voice that follows is much calmer, a lot less shaky. ]

I don't know where I am, or how I got here. Is this some kind of trick?

Perhaps it is, but I'm not sure who might be behind it. I also have no notion of how I arrived here, and I gather that's a common sentiment.

[Unharmed is good. It's one less thing for Daneel to worry about.]

So it's not just me that this has happened to.

[ That's a relief, and she can't help but sigh quietly. She's been sure that it's just another cruel trick that she's being made to endure by those upstairs. ]

I'm Anna. Does this kind of thing happen often, then?

There could be any number of reasons, really. Volleyball, ice cream, tanning, being eaten by wolves or murdered by PO'd Norse gods - take your pick. Personally I recommend the ice cream.

[ Oh, she's relieved beyond reason that he's here at least. Castiel she has mixed feelings on, but Gabriel was a rebel before she even had her Garrison. ]

Point me in the direction of this ice cream, would you? I could use some.

[There's no reply over the network, but within the space of a minute, he appears nearby, an ice cream in each hand - chocolate, as if it could be otherwise - and strolls over.]

[There are more eloquent things to say, and wittier, but forgive him. He's used to you being dead.]

[ She's just a bit concerned when she doesn't get a response, and she legitimately thinks that she's imagined his voice. At least she thinks that until he sees him, with two ice creams no less, and when she sees that they're chocolate she's almost tempted to spring a hug on him.

Except that she doesn't, because she's still wary of all of this, and she's still half convinced its just a trick. People don't just escape prison, not the one she's been in. ]

[ She's hardly more eloquent, but she manages a small smile as she holds out a hand for the ice cream. ] I hope one of them is for me.

[ More familiar voices. If she wasn't too busy being confused out of her mind about how she even got here, let alone if she can even trust that ya all actually real, she might actually find some comfort in the fact that there's so many people she knows already here.

As it is, it just makes her more worried. ]

Dean? You're here too? [ A quiet laugh follows, though she doesn't sound all that amused. ] God, all we need is Sam and we've got ourselves a collectible edition.

[ Dean wasn't actually sure of what to say to her. Other than testing the waters to make sure she wasn't on the warpath again. But since she didn't pop over to where he was? He's guessing that was a big fat no. ]

No, I'm just your conscience speaking. [ Angels have those, right?

Wrong. It was obvious from what went down with Cas. ] Sam actually is here. I think helping with the clean-up from the other day's earthquake. [ Dean had helped a little too. ]
